This was extremely educational and informative for those looking to open a store. You were very detailed in your explanations. Ive actually been wanting to open Java /Juice spot in Florida.
Hi Reetu, Thank you so much for this genuine information. I wish you the best in your business journey. And I hope to visit your take out restaurant someday soon.
Thank you for sharing the start up cost of a store. I didn't realized the variety of cost and things are needed. This also help encourage me to mive forward with what i have been wanting to do. I will start looking at your other videos. Thanks again
great video. i would have liked to see what the total came out to, how you financed the business, and what your process was for inventory ie working with brands, diversity of products, customer base and its relationship with that diversity, etc.
@@Ree2mz thank you for the responce, no worries if you don't want to answer the next question, its just I want to open a C-store/deli myself and there is hardly any info out there to learn from. Anyways, if you don't mind me asking what is the gross revenue and what are the profit margins? it just seems like those number change drastically depending on the store so was wonding what your numbers are. Thank you!!
One of the keys to small stores is having a distributor to bring your product. Who do you use, and why did you choose them .... and are there multiple sources you are using?
Hello Reetu, this is great information. Thank you for sharing the info. I bet you might me in the stage now to see some profits. What kind of margins are you seeing in the grocery side, aside from your take out?. It would be nice to know it.
Awesome video (as usual). Would you say that doing business in Montreal is more burdensome than doing business in other provinces? And would you ever move to more business-friendly states like Florida or Texas?
Thanks so much!! Honestly I have no idea how starting a business looks like anywhere else in Canada or the US but if I want to do it, I definitely would. I'll just have to relearn the "system" but if I did it once I don't see why it would be difficult to do it again. I would maybe franchise one of the two businesses that I have right now though, that way I have a solid base. :)
If you have the employees, then have them go through your food and mark down any food that might expire. The day it expires, donate it to your local food pantry. That's what we do where I work.
Lol . I had to laugh at the suggestion of having store shelves made from *stainless*. Stainless steel is one of the most expensive metals to make shelving from. Yes, buy second hand fixtures and shelves. But know that *any* shelves need to be cleaned regularly so it does not collect dust.
My Entrepreneur... So your mom and your sister both have a restaurant. It means that entrepreneurship runs in the veins.. So according with what you explained , you've spent over $120K to open this Grocery. With the venue and Commercial Kitchen, you're probably seating in $709K Portfolio
Hahaha, entrepreneurship definitely runs in the veins but I would say it's more because my family (especially my mom) is VERY courageous. We are open to taking risks and that's super important to be able to launch any business. Thanks for watching! :)
Thank you for the detailed information. How is your grocery store doing? I'm still thinking about opening one however, I don't have the money to do so which is holding me back.
Do you see a future in your grocery store with rising costs or do you plan to add additional ways to make money ex restaurant or simply selling hot foods?
I own one of those its so hard business and takes lots of money. Before you even ear a buck you need to invest sonl much and working with food is hard due to exp dates. And than profit is so so considering amount of time and effort it take to open and maintain. I tell you it will be your job thats about it. I would suggest opening another type of business.
I agree with you - it's not an easy business at all. However, it's a business in need. It's really volume dependant. I opened other businesses that are more profitable but it requires a lot of marketing which is expensive, because those businesses are not needs, but wants.
question i wana know how much it is to rent a spot for me to sell home, appliances like washers dryers. Fridges ect i give no,clue on what how to go about that I sell them, out of my house but honestly take,to much sapces so I like,to open up a store tux
