You boys need a shaker.. coat hanger shaped like a small upside down j for unhooking. Grab the line with it slide it to the hook and it grabs the hook and pops the fish off.

Funny enough the person I’m fishing with has just got a house , had his own boat 13 years
I'm 18 and just finished school, if I was to get into commercial and I was doing it at this scale I wouldn't be able to afford a house until im 50😂 especially not with house prices in Guernsey

May I ask is a box of line caught fish worth a lot of money? I just wonder how a commercial fisherman makes a living off catching 1 box a day?
It depends on the market , a box like that is probably £400 depending on price when landed
Ah right that’s great. So you can definitely make a good income if you’re prepared to put the work in. As well as look after all your gear and boat. Looks like a good life to me.
Please Please dispatch your catch as you get them on board, letting them flap around is so cruel guys and the meat tastes better.
Looked like a fantastic days fishing and should have made a fair bit of money. Didn't look like your friend was wearing a life jacket I hope that you were. It's very stupid to go out to sea without the proper safety equipment. Lets hope that he was wearing some and you just couldn't see it.

Pollack stink if not gutted , bass and mackerel are fine in ice ungutted as they are sold that way
