When I make fish tacos I make a cabbage salad with oregano, lime juice, a dash cumin, and olive oil. It’s really good and add some white onion (and avocado when the budget allows) is a pretty lush taco.
My grandma in Guernsey would lightly dust the makrel fillets in flour and fry them ..... best fish I’ve tasted for breakfast...
Ere' a top tip from my ex-wife is if you want to make the batter extra-crunchy it's advisable to add a spoonful of sand during the mixing process. Also do you think if you caught a gurnard and kept him as a pet you should call him Bernard ? Similar with Herbert the Turbot obviously. I'm all at sea most of the time (aged 64).
Btw every time you show a conger eel's head it reminds me of my mate in St.Austell when he looks in the mirror in the bogs in Wetherspoons. Do keep up the good work in the community.

Yeah within 3 hours and then kept very cold. I put them in an ice slurry. Love fried fresh Mackerel.😊

Some uneducated comments on this video.
This is a commercial fishing boat, like it or not this is how its done people.
By not knocking each fish on the head it retains its quality- no blood leaches into the flesh.
This is by far a more sustainable form of commercial fishing as very little by-catch.
Unlike the trawlers that capture a tonne at a time!
So what it then £150 subscriber charge for days fishing ?

Love your videos Jay but hate to see fish just thrown in a bucket to suffocate and not be despatched first.
Hitting a fish on the head makes it bleed inside , no good when you want to sell catch as the meat will have red patches in it , I’d like to dispatch but not a good idea when fishing like this

I was measuring them on camra , with so many bass round you really think it’s worth risking are licences over , also we’re are you going to sell undersized bass 😂 the places I land fish would kick me out in a heart beat 😂
Go pros are maginified so when up close the fish look big an far away they look tiny even tho they are a decent size
You seen the size of the farmed bass in Morrisons, they aren't no bigger than the mackerel in length and depth.
Put those bass back, not one worth keeping.
Great video,Smash was the star again,any way I just wanted to say that when I had a dog he absolutely loved mackerel when ever I went fishing and got some i boiled him four big ones then broke them up making sure there were no bones and mixed it with some dog biscuits and he loved it and your right it’s really good for them.🇬🇧👍🏻🦴
