      All you need is a heat source, a hammer, and something to hammer on. You could get away with a chunk of steel as long as you can secure it to something to keep it from moving around. The heavier the better. Many other countries take a solid round and put it in cement and forge on that. People are recourceful.

    I restored my knife handles and coated them in apoxy resin. It worked for me. Beautiful cleaver.

      As long as it can seep in and harden it will work great.

    I appreciate your narrative on your videos. The naysayers irritate me, but I love your response. If you don't like it, leave. Simple as that.
    Another great video!!!

    i cant believe the white paint and pressing from top to bottom isnt the standard. it works so damn perfectly. i dont forge anything, but im shocked other youtubers dont do it!

    • @JPsBladeworks
      @JPsBladeworks  10 дней назад

      I used to do it differently but the white paint is a game changer because of ease of application. As for the pressing from top to bottom i learned in a video with Steve Schwarzer. Ive never seen it anywhere else but he is know as the father of canister damascus for a reason.

    That's a cool looking cleaver. I don't forge, I enjoy watching the process, I find it therapeutic. As for the talking, personally, I much prefer videos with narration.

    I have not seen many people use the dowel method other than Black Beard Projects. It is something more knife makers should try

    Yeah san mai build! Perfect mix as it give a nice style and good cutting edge.
    As for voice over.... Majority of people in many channels said that they prefer when makers explain and share their issues and ideas of build, as we learn more that way.
    What people DONT LIKE, and I saw that many times on discords is.... talking heads. No one like channels where guy slap camera on his face and ramble like drunk. No one like that. Show build process? Yep. Talk over issues and ideas of it and explain what you do? Yep. Make fun of people that post mean comments? Yep again as everyone love those :D

    • @JPsBladeworks
      @JPsBladeworks  11 дней назад

      I also prefer to do commentary because all i have left is using music and that really isnt my style. So i choose commentary instead and its been fun to do ever since so i dont plan on stopping because a few people love to complain about having to watch it like someone has a gun to their head forcing them 🙃

    hey you got a good speaking voice you talk in a comfortable manner and you are giving some good info if people think you talk to much they can mute you or go find a quite corner of RUclips to sulk in (you should make video in a way that you enjoy) thanks for the content
