We got it back to smooth riding. Not every job wants the full nine yards done but we got this one exactly back to where it needed to be. Thanks again!!🧡⚙️
Just a minor thank you. Watching these videos helped give me some confidence to try and fix a non-working front mech. I didn't actually fix it, but my mechanic had slightly less to do. I'll class that ad a personal win!
I don't understand why I love these videos but they are just a joy to watch, also totally going to copy the lube syringe set up in my work shop and tell all my friends I came up with it 🤫
I still have my Trek 3500 from the early 2010s. I utilize it for riding with my son in the toddler carrier! Even if it is a lower tier bicycle, it is still a blast. Good fix this week :)
You've taught me to start greasing/lubing the thumb adjuster on derailleurs and it does make such a difference. Ive used pliers to turn those adjusters before trying to get leverage to turn them haha
do you have any tips for removing stuck bottom brackets? I have an alu frame bike with a shimano 20t spline BB and it just won't budge. soaked in WD40 for 2 days, 2ft breaker bar, 2 day of soaking in cola too!
You could try it with a impact driver. With this tool you can press on the nut well (so it don't come off and destroy the spline) and the impacts may loosen the BB. Remember they go out in the way you pedal
I’ve recently come across your channel (and subscribed!) and just wanted to say what a great job you seem to do. Very in-depth with your services. I myself work in a bike workshop and do the best I can every time, but I certainly ain’t to your standard. Waiting to start my Cytech training, just wanted to ask out of curiosity as to what your service charges are?
Very kind thank you Mark! We keep our servicing prices private as so much varies in terms of location and costs it’s really not fair to have other shops compared with us or compare with other shops 🧡
Is there any chance you could share the torque specs for all the parts on the bike? I tend to look each one up and different sites have different settings sometimes. If all the info was in one place, it'd be real helpful.
5nm for everything non weightbearing in my opinion and around 10nm for weight bearing i.e. Seat/seat post/crank/bars) - Most I'll torque with carbon is 8nm and that is only as the frame states 6nm to 8nm max
The best thing you can do is look them up. Components can be vastly different even on what would seem the same specced bike it’s worth checking your own🧡
Great timing, we got our son his first bike in november, which is a trek marlin 5. It's due i little lite servicing after the wet winter we have had in the UK. This videos going to be a great indicator on what to look out for and how to prolong its life. Cheers.
I'd love to have that done on my bike but nobody does it where I live so I'll have to learn on how to do it. Around how much do all those products cost?
So, I've got a Trek Marlin 6 from 2016. I've been thinking of update/rebuild it because its a bit shredded. Is it worth it, or should I find a better frame?
Another goodun completed there 👏 Little question....in an earlier video, you used a matte black sticker to hide some scratching to the frame. Can I ask where you get them from?
Hi Guys, I have watched a few of your videos and have learned a lot from you about looking after a bike. One thing I haven't seen in any of your videos is a breakdown/rebuild of the front shocks (forks). Is this because they are not serviceable, or it's not economically viable? I don't think I have ever seen you having to replace a set of shocks neither. Would appreciate your thoughts. Love the videos, I can see a lot of effort goes into creating them. Keep them coming!!
We have offered it to customers but it is expensive and it really depends on the customers needs for the bike. We’ve done a few pairs but it isn’t common for most peoples riding!🧡⚙️
Love the bike design ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube. All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
A bike in this condition would benefit suspension service too. You guys do this inhouse as well? I can imagine though that suntour entry level forks arent that interesting for extended service seeing from een economical perspective. @bikespeeds
Occasionally we do but it’s honestly not something we’ve been asked to do more than a hand full of times, we have a very high end mountain bike shop locally so most bikes wanting that level of service go there 🧡
So satisfying to watch the gunk being scraped from the jockey wheels. 😊
Always my favourite part 😅
It amazes us really just how how grease builds up🧡
Very satisfying to watch, can't wait for the next one.
Thank you Barry we appreciate it! We’ll see you then🧡⚙️
That was a ride all day - every day bike that needed some TLC and you gave it just that. So satisfying to watch 👍
We got it back to smooth riding. Not every job wants the full nine yards done but we got this one exactly back to where it needed to be. Thanks again!!🧡⚙️
Nice to see an entry level getting a good service. Keep it up.
Thank you Rupert glad you enjoyed it🧡

Keep at it! These things take time. Service your bike bit by bit and you’ll never get yourself in to much of a muddle doing so🧡
Another superb transformation, components are sparkling 🙌😎🇫🇮
Had to be done 😎 thanks Dean🧡
Again another bike rises from the ashes to new again. Top drawer job as always guys awesome 👏
Thanks very much Kevin! 🧡⚙️

They’re an awesome work horse bike. No fuss🧡⚙️

Great news to hear! Grease everything you can🧡
i just had a mindgazm wathching this. ty

i have ocd and love the way you you do not give shit about grease on your fingers
Haha gloves get in the way lol🧡
I’m happy to help comments and likes are easy & the least I can do.
It helps us a lot with growing the channel so we appreciate it🧡
on my marlin 5 gen 2 the back brake caliper was loose from the day a got it

Do you ever have to service the shifters at all ?
In my experience, indexed shifter only need servicing once the lubricant within them dries and they don't work well.
Not often but occasionally if they’re seized 🧡

Wrong thumbnail or is it just me?

That’s the best way. Servicing it before something goes wrong so that nothing goes wrong. Thanks for watching 🧡
Hi great video. Do you get many e-bikes in for service.
Not many in our area but occasionally 🧡
What do you put in the ultrasonic cleaner. To remove the rust from bolts. I have some bolt with light rust inside the bolthead. 👌
Just degreaser. It isn’t a rust remover per say but it does work as much as we need it to🧡⚙️
First to comment 🤟
Congrats and thanks for watching!
I'd love to have that done on my bike but nobody does it where I live so I'll have to learn on how to do it. Around how much do all those products cost?
Could you please advise what front derailleur I would need to replace my Trek 7 Marlin 3rd to 2 speed crank?
👍😎
Thanks as always James🧡🙌🏻
Would you please reference torque specs? Thank you!
Noice.
Did you have any concern over what looked like sub-surface rust on the crankset?
how would u rate the quality of the Altus derailleur?
They are simple and just for 8 speed, but they do their job.
Reliable! Does exactly what it should🧡

What do you use to wash your frames? Great videos by the way.
Soapy water 🧡
Another goodun completed there 👏

Hi Kev we make these ourselves! We’d love for you to check them out on www.bikespeeds.com/shop 🧡

@@Bikespeeds Thanks for taking the time to reply :)
What was the plastic disc behind the cassette called?
A spoke protector 🧡
How can a tire be the wrong way? And how can you tell which way to do it
It has a directional arrow 🧡
Would a headset service normally be included?
Not unless required 🧡
What is this light green lube that you used?
That is our own and new product bikespeeds premium grease available on bikespeeds.com/shop! Thanks for watching🧡
How much do you charge for this service
What’s the name of your shop?

Is your watch a Rolex Oysterquartz?
Wrong bike in the thumbnail?
Clickbait, where's the marlin from the thumbnail?
Trek bad bikes
