I got these for almost 4 years and these are the best phones I've ever had. The sound is just phenomenal, but you have to tune it a bit. The EQ from Sennheiser is horrendous so don't even bother. I use jetaudio+ with all the enhancements and it took me about an hour to tune them and good, it was worth it. The basses are heavy (it can play 3Hz bass, even though it should not) while midst being clear and crisp same as highs. My vision actually trembles when I listen on them while being able to hear crystal clear voice. Best money ever spent..
3rd party earpads for Sony MDR V6 etc apparently fit these headphones and are available in various materials and types, they have larger interiors and might also help with cooling.
Glad you mentioned the support for aptx, because the support for aptx low latency makes them one of the few bt headphones that are suitable for watching movies (assuming you have an aptx ll transmitter).
I just got these and have been experiencing a clicking/creaking sound in the right cup if I move while wearing them. It does it when both turned off and on so I'm sure it's mechanical. Curious if anyone else is experiencing the same?
So.. I kind of get Sennheiser's approach as a headphone company now. I just bought the Sennheiser 458, and after this review I'm a bit nervous to open them. But I notice that Sennheiser releases a new model yearly in hopes of trying to improve till they get it right. Judging by the video they still haven't figured out how to get the Active Noise Canceling sound to be the same as the sound without the noise canceling. You wouldn't think a vacuum to block noise would make a big difference. But I guess it does.
All the reviews fail to say that when on calls, the microphone lets you hear your own voice and your surroundings, which is pretty bad for shared home offices or loud enviroments of any kind. If you plan to use them on said places, make sure you have an external microphone to make it the default recording device on Windows thus avoiding the "pass through feature".

@@TotallydubbedHD thank you so much. I really appreciate your reply.. cheers.
@@mrxec2056 pleasure bro
Can you please give me reply.. Sound is the most important thing for me so which one is better sennheiser hd 599 or this one..
Not tried the Hd599.
Sound terrible and horrible build quality as the ear pads are already coming a part at the seams
Did you test the BT SQ with ANC on (which standard is) or OFF?
Both, but my assessments were namely with it ON.
@@TotallydubbedHD thanks...when watching more reviews on the 450bt you get mixed results. Also some freq response measurements are different. Inconsistency by sennheiser?
@@Mrhifitunes doubt it - probably down to the experience people have with headphones; ie. I've reviewed over 500 audio products.
Oh man, this is cool I just picked up the 450BTNC at CEX!! £60 mate! #GetOnMyLevelBro !!
They feel luxurious to me, especially the memory foam. Something you might not have a problem with is that I keep trapping my long hair in the cracks, but that's kinda my life :]
The earpads cover my ears really well, it seems to me to be made to sit just around the back of the ears with the main canal right at the front.
Love the videos :D
haha thanks bro!
This headset is not working properly when connected with wire. Is there any settings we have to do for this to work?
Ensured it's plugged in properly?
@@TotallydubbedHD yes
Whenever I connect headset with wire, the buttons on headset like volume control etc are not working. Is it the same for everyone or is it any defect of my headset?
@@latha_123 that's correct behaviour
@@TotallydubbedHD okay. Thank you
yeah the software is bad on these. They always glitch out on me (I've owned them for about two years now)
Does sennhiser hd458bt have high bass?can we increase it from app?
What's their wireless range?
Is the sound quality different when used wired??
From memory, yes slightly better over aux
Do these have latency on iPhone ?
I don't have an iPhone, but I presume not, given they support AAC
Hate the clamp force
Ditto
They also come in white
Didn't at the time, I don't think!
May You tell me if these headphones have the codec APTX HD?
Everything in the video should provide you with everything you need to know.
@@TotallydubbedHD yes you said that supports APTX but I wonder if is the same with APTX HD
@@luisjuliomenendezmunoz7838 it isn't, no.
What kind of headphone did you use at minute 8:50?
The Bose NC 700
@@TotallydubbedHD Ah, nice. Thank you
@@nov1ana no worries!
I'm considering getting these for my son, who is 9yo. He needs ANC for blocking out sound for focusing and is an avid music lover. He will always be supervised for sound levels etc.... blahblahblah. I was considering these vs the Anker Soundcore Q30's. The smaller ear cups and clamping force seems like a bonus for his smaller noggin'. Which would you recommend? These are going for sub $100 USD at the monent. Seems like a lot of value
Well the ANC at the time wasn't impressive, as per the video. And can't comment on the Anker, sorry!
Would you recommend these over the jbl live 650btnc? Or would it be the other way?
The other way around
Today the price is 100 dollars. Is this the better option in the planet earth at this price?
How much are the alternatives I suggested in the description?
Would you recommend these or the Philips PH805? (really worried that they have no aptx)
Thanks in advance
Easily the Philips
@@TotallydubbedHD thanks a million 🙏
@@amralaa9229 np, don't forget to sub and like :)
Is it worth it if I can get it for $120?
Check the description for alternatives.
You made me felt shame to bought my HD 450 BT, lol
:(
Did u test them wired?
I did briefly, not all that better
would you recommend them for movies?
Nope
@@TotallydubbedHD why? they support aptx low latency.
@@martinkinn watch the review
Hey bro would you recommend sony wh-h910n or these?
probably neither; see the description for my suggestions...
Got these on the prime day sale, I'm sending them back as any music through them sounds awful, they're just ok if all you listen to is podcasts. What a disappointment.
Don't listen to this person
@@-M0LE I didn't, I watched this after I already made the decision to return them. They sound like crap, they're cheaply made and they're really uncomfortable.
@@aliasfakename2267 well I've had two sets as I lost the first one and both have lasted well very comfortable and sound better than things that are 3/4xvmore expensive...the sennheiser app definitely helps to sort the EQ out
@@-M0LE I'll give it to you that they sound better than beats but I primarily listen to metal and these definitely weren't designed with that genre in mind. I tried the app but it didn't make it any better for me. I like loud headphones and these just weren't what I was looking for. I'm glad you liked them though, to each their own.
@@aliasfakename2267 yeah each person hears differently so yh no worries... I will be looking for some new ones as I stupidly washed the leather or whatever material the covers are and it's peeling now but the best thing is you can blast these it's so loud in your ears you think ppl on train etc would be annoyed but they don't make outside noise even at full volume... German engineering still one of the best in the world thi and im from UK lol
Cant belive you are recomending Razer, the self destruct products they sell are garbage....
Check those headphones out and you'll understand why lol
This is the worst piece of garbage i have ever owned, my 50$ gym headphones skullcandy grind have better sound quality than this piece of trash, it feels like your head is in cardboard box, bass is shallow and hard, this is my first and definitely last product from sennheiser
Ouf
Heya, the UK is officially in a recession. As much as I like to purchase this awesome pair of headphones you are advertising, the fact of the matter is that I'm on the streets begging like an absolute peasant. People are proper cheapskates you know what I mean? I'm on the streets with me hands out saying stuff like "Please sir, can I have some more?" and those cheapskates won't share the load. Being poor, jobless and homeless is the reason why I support socialism.
Heya, I have no words.
Sennheiser = Nokia
I can't recall Sennheiser making a zombie-killing, ultimate battery life phone...haha
LOL How can you compare Sennheiser with Philips and JBL? 😂😂🤣🤣 And what's even worst, you suggest Philips and JBL ... LOOOOLLLLLL man, that sounds so amateur!
Have you even tried the ones mentioned?
Is it better than the Philips 905 regarding sound quality and anc?
Nope! The other way around, the Philips sound better
@@TotallydubbedHD and what will you choose between Philips and jbl
@@dominosforfun5840 which JBL?
@@TotallydubbedHD whichever JBL you have tested which is near the price range of 140 dollars
@@TotallydubbedHD I mean like if you compare a 140 dollars Philips headphones with a 140 dollars JBL or Sony headphones which one should I choose, right now I'm confused between PhilipsTAPH805BK,JBL LIVE 650BTNC,sony wh-ch710n and skullcandy hesh anc
