Old guy here; having changed more exhaust pipes than you can imagine I will share a couple of tips with you. 1. a little WD 40 spray on the joint will help with removal of the old pipe. 2. buy some exhaust paste from a muffler shop and put it on the side that the new pipe will cover. this helps to make it easier to slide the new pipe over the joint.. It also helps seal the joint . Plus it will make it easier to remove the pipe and install the original pipes should it be necessary to pass your MOT 3 clean the new pipe very well with a handy wipe or an eye glass cleaner , before you start the machine . Other wise your finger prints will be forever visible after the pipe gets hot. I just subscribed and look forward to the next upgrade .

@Webbo-gf6eq good point. To me the sound characteristics, atleast on video sounds better with DB out. Id like that sound but not too loud. No db-killers has been measured to about ~110db, db killers remove about 20db. on revving that is. Whit all that said it sounds amazing with db killers just as it is. Much neater looking and sounds good to, hopefully it will also sound good with the baffles out, sometimes they can sound a bit “drainpipe” without baffles, anyway only one way to find out 👍
I think it sounds beautiful. I like a louder exhaust, but not a very loud exhaust. I have 1988 Harley Davidson Lowrider with Vance & Hines shotgun pipes, they look straight out but have a cleaver tubular baffle in the end that takes the bark out, they are 96 db at 2000rpm, 115 db on the open road, yes they are loud but not obnoxious. I have 2022 Harley Davidson Pan Am Special, and I have a V&H muffler for it, it makes a fantastic difference to the way the bike runs and sounds.
I live in an semi-urban neighborhood and have come to despise loud exhausts (its almost always Harleys and the Sportster boys are the worst). So, to my ears, those Mistrals sound just right - and yes, they are absoulutely better looking.
Sounds great. Leave the DB killers in. With more miles you will get the hang of shifting without the clunk. Guzzi builds a great transmission just takes some practice. I am still working on technique with my Mandello but will never reach the level of my V7lll due to the wet clutch on the V100.
Had a V7III, added the Mistral shorties, much lighter and sounded great. DB killers in, wanted a little more volume. DB killers out, wanted less volume (started to get annoying on longer trips at higher speeds). I ended up drilling a 5/8" hole in the end of the DB killer. Perfect! Glad you are enjoying the bike.
So glad you chose Mistral silencers . I have a Triumph Thunderbird 900 , and Mistral still supply silencers for them . I’ve been fancying some for years, but never heard them . Perfect! Cheers. PS You two make a great partnership.

The pipes look, and sound much better than stock.I'll be very interested to hear it after the db removal and tune.I'll be putting Mistral on my V85TT.They're high quality, and I think they compliment the bike nicely.👍👍
Sounds great, also looks really nice! Not sure if it’s the same on Guzzis but I just put some ‘quiet’ baffles in my M8 Heritage pipes to aid the lack of back pressure which didn’t hurt the sound too much but brought back all the low-end torque. The plus side of you riding it before taking out the baffles is that you’ll be able to notice whether or not the performance is affected.
Funny, when I replaced the side bag mounts and added a rear rack, one of my exhausts just plopped on the floor as soon as I got the bolt out of the passenger footpeg mounting bracket
Sounds lush! Maybe loud enough and the tone is superb! Will be very interesting to see the results of the next steps. It's a really stunning looking bike, I'm surprised it's not way more popular.

I have the 2024 Triumph Bobber Stealth Edition, and it's beeeeeeautiful❤. So far, I have only changed the exhaust for a Hitchcox system. Sometime, I think that's all you need. Some bikes look perfect already.
My V7 iii has mistral same as yours .. love em! And they are not too loud at all
I have mistral shorties on my v7 mk2 too.
@@hughmac7423 thank you 😊
I live in an semi-urban neighborhood and have come to despise loud exhausts (its almost always Harleys and the Sportster boys are the worst). So, to my ears, those Mistrals sound just right - and yes, they are absoulutely better looking.
Sunds way better. Happy to see you finally get the bike you really wanted and to watch you make it your own.
Wow! Much better! I need to do this on my new T120
Very nice video, I will start to think about change exaust in me v7 stone 😊
Great sound. I have the Mistrals fitted to mine and they are way better than stock.
I think it sounds great, shorter, lighter,, looks good too!
Sounds great. Leave the DB killers in. With more miles you will get the hang of shifting without the clunk. Guzzi builds a great transmission just takes some practice. I am still working on technique with my Mandello but will never reach the level of my V7lll due to the wet clutch on the V100.
Always had excellent quick as possible service from ED and co at gutsibits. Whether new or used parts.
Sounds much better with the Mistral slip-ons 🤩
They look so much better, good job!
It’s cool seeing your excitement, and wearing the Guzzi tee shirt! Will sound better minus the silencer, can’t wait
Had a V7III, added the Mistral shorties, much lighter and sounded great. DB killers in, wanted a little more volume. DB killers out, wanted less volume (started to get annoying on longer trips at higher speeds). I ended up drilling a 5/8" hole in the end of the DB killer. Perfect!
Glad you are enjoying the bike.
got Mistrals on my anniversario, big difference!
So glad you chose Mistral silencers . I have a Triumph Thunderbird 900 , and Mistral still supply silencers for them . I’ve been fancying some for years, but never heard them . Perfect! Cheers.
PS You two make a great partnership.
A superb modification to your V7 Darcy and your bike sounds absolutely fantastic 👍🏼
I run a V85TT with a full MassMoto decat system and Storm muffler. K&N filter & Upmap tune... I Put an ASMR video up of it a few months ago. The Moto Guzzi Sound awesome when the pipes are fettled... Looking forward to hearing your full system 👌🏼👌🏼
Really enjoyed watching your first mod on your bike. It definitely makes it sound even better. Looking forward to the next mod 👍🏼
I have the same exhaust on my V7 Stone; you will love it.
Nice job. I love the Mistral slip-ons. I’m getting the same bike in the near future and am awaiting your additional modifications with great anticipations.
Thanks, great to hear 👍🏼
i like a subtle exhaust note and that mistral sounds lovely can not wait to see what the difference is with the airflow kit
It looks and sounds a lot better.
Keen on continuing watching this series. Bar end mirrors next I’m assuming?
I think they sound and look awesome. Great job👌🏻
Sounds lush! Maybe loud enough and the tone is superb! Will be very interesting to see the results of the next steps. It's a really stunning looking bike, I'm surprised it's not way more popular.
A 7x5 number plate would look better too instead of the sail. And when did baffles become dB killers? 👍
As you say that is exactly as it should sound perfect
The new Mistral exhausts on your Guzzi sound great , they look good too, so excellent choice.
@@IanSixbikes-by6ei thanks 😊
Lovely sound for sure. It will surely bring a smile on people who love deep sound exhaust.
Looking good. Even better with a black and silver number plate, you know you want to.
VERY nice sound!
I'd be turning it into a Le Man replica painting it red and black, those exhausts are a major improvement..
Sounds great !👍🏻 I had mistrals fitted to my 750 Breva and it completely changed its character for the better ! Like yours it sounded much deeper and had alot more of the v twin throb and burble . Plus the quality of sound was such that no one was annoyed by the increased noise 👌🏻👍🏻
