Also "heroes gallery", that is an interesting term. Rarely do I find a villain facing different heroes having to adapt to their abilities, excluding those villains facing one or multiple groups/teams of heroes.

Plus, Grundy made several live action appearances "recently" (I used the term broadly), not just *Gotham* ...
Currently, he is a recurring villain on the (great) show *Stargirl* , being a member of the Injustice Society.
And back in 2014, he was part of Brother Blood's "Church of Blood" in *Arrow* season 2.
And I know I shouldn't count his cameo on Smallville season 10, back in 2011, in the last episode before the 2-parter finale.
He only had a short cameo next to Black Manta, Metallo, Dark Archer/Merlyn, Roulette and Captain Cold, as members of Toyman's "Marionette Enterprises" but damn, that cameo got me soooo pumped up as a kid!
I was screaming at the screen like a moron, I thought we would actually see them all in action against their targets!!! And why not?
But yeah, nope, didn't happen; well, it didn't in the Smallville comics, but that wasn't what I was promised ><
      Oh well.
Also, Grundy's design was pretty damn scary in *The Batman* , I liked him in that adaptation.
And of course, poor Solomon Grundy broke my heart twice in a row in the "Justice League" & "JL: Unlimited" cartoons, his scenes with Hawkgirl were tearjerkers...
Like in the episode *"The Terror Beyond"*
Solomon Grundy : Grundy thinks he is going away now.
Hawkgirl : No, just hang on!
Solomon Grundy : Do you think Grundy's soul is waiting for him?
      Hawkgirl : Grundy, I don't believe in s...
[Hawkgirl pauses and looks into Grundy's eyes]
Hawkgirl : [With tears in her eyes] Yes. It's waiting for you.
Solomon Grundy : Then, Grundy gets his reward.
      FUUUUUCK *( ;____;)*
That and the time when she has to put him down in out of his misery offscreen, after 3 high school n00bz wake him up with necromancy, and in the end Grundy trusts Hawkgirl and closes his eyes...
Yep, just remembering that one kinda hurt.

I’m pretty sure rag doll appeared in multiple episodes of that Batman series with speaking lines. I haven’t seen much of it but I know he’s in an episode with catwoman, and he’s a part of Penguin’s supervillains team with Killer Croc, firefly, and Killer Moth.
Also the power level of a contortionist just doesn’t stack up against a man who can move faster than light. Granted he probably could have been transferred to Ollie’s gallery, but I suppose the bat gallery is so large at this point it must have its own gravitational pull

Ragdoll appeared in three episodes: "Ragdolls to Riches" (The only true Ragdoll centric episode, though it was split with Catwoman to a degree), "Team Penguin" (One of the series best imo), and a cameo in "Rumors" where he was one of the villains abducted by Rumor.

    • @rubiconprime1429

@John Cobblepot granted I don’t think the rogues should really be a problem for the flash either since if Flash just yanks their weapons out of their hands they then just become normal people who stand no chance against the Flash. However, at least the Rogues’ weapons give them special abilities that could at the least give them a chance against the Flash. Even Trickster has special abilities that could help him. Ragdoll is just a contortionist, he has nothing on the Flash, and that’s why I don’t think he makes a good Flash enemy.

    • @rubiconprime1429
      @rubiconprime1429 2 года назад +1

@John Cobblepot oh certainly he shouldn’t be a Batman villain. I was just musing at Batman’s ability to pull other villains into his rogues gallery. A super contortionist is very interesting and I think would make an excellent Green Arrow villain since he would be a very difficult target since he can move however he wants in order to dodge an Arrow

Batman's rogues gallery is so great, Everyone wants to be a part of it. It's the downside of popularity.

    • @randallflagg3700
      @randallflagg3700 2 года назад +4

KGbeast has been getting way more action lately... ever since he took out Nightwing and got curbstomped by Batman he had gone AWOL but.... "recently", and I use the term broadly, he has made appearances against:
=>Batgirl in 2020, henching for Dasha Berlova in Babs' solo title.
After being humiliated by her, (which happened after he boasted about shooting Grayson), and losing his new badass golden arm, he then... got rekt by...
=>Damian Wayne, in the pages of *Teen Titans* , when Damian went after him _also_ to avenge Dick...
Knyazev survived, but became a laughing stock in Russian for getting almost killed twice by Bat-kids.
He decided to finish the job with Dick Grayson to get his rep back,
=>but got curbstomped again in the pages of *Nightwing* in 2021 by a back-in-business Dick.
I'm sad that KGBeast didn't get to keep the "super elite" status that was awarded to him when DC went from New52 to Rebirth, in the pages of *"All-Star Batman"* .
Anatoly was a straight-up badass in the Two-Face run "My Own Worst Enemy" , that Mr Rogues reviewed back in the days... he was easily Deathstroke-tier in that storyline, and they finally gave his some personality, and personal motivation.
(I also liked how they started to call him "The Beast" instead of KGBeast, which is a tad outdated as a name)
But afterward, he put on a good fight against Batman after turning Dick into Ric, and then it was back to being a jobber against Batgirl, Damian & Nightwing...
That sucks, I guess I started to care a bit too much for Anatoli Knyazev, after his adaptation into the Arrowverse.

Same thing when Batman left him to die in the snow after breaking his neck in Tom King's run, when Anatoli is hired by Bane to kill Nightwing.
We're first led to believe that he's breaking his code, then a few issues later we learn that Batman had spotted helicopters far away, and knew the Beast would be rescued.

Personally I don't think Ragdoll works as Flash villain. What chance does a guy whose only ability is that he is master contortionist have against the fastest man alive? He would be defeat in a matter of seconds.
I also don't have a problem with Grundy as Bat-rogue since he does fit the theme of Batman villain well: He has a great callback to classic horror monster like Frankenstein and, depending on the writer, he can be a very tragic and sympathetic villain, as showed in Justice League cartoon. I would love to see a team up between him and Killer Croc, since they are both monsters who tricked and manipulated by villains, are reject by society and just want to find a place where they belong.

    • @alexandrefrauches132
      @alexandrefrauches132 2 года назад +2

@John Cobblepot Yes Ragdoll is Flash villain and that makes no sense because his power is weak and Flash should be able to defeat in seconds with no difficult. Just because a villain show up a in specific hero's comic doesn't mean he can go to another rogues gallery and make more sucess there. Take Kingpin for exemple. He begin as Spider man villain but after he went to the Daredevil comics and since then he is know by many fans as the man without fear greatest enemy.

    • @alexandrefrauches132
      @alexandrefrauches132 2 года назад +2

@John Cobblepot The Flash rogues are criminals with hi-tech weapons and gadgets, some of it created specifically to counter flash's powers like Cap Cold freeze gun. Ragdoll is just some thief with acrobatic and contortionist. What he is gonna do against the Flash? What threat he represent to the scarlet speedster? None. At least when he fights against Batman it makes sense since some of Batman rogues like Catwoman or Riddler are just cunning criminals who enjoy pulling daring heist and escape from the dark knight.

I like the idea of Clock King being a Batman villain though, mostly because I adore Batman and Green Arrow's okay but not one of my favorites. Also, I feel like the Batman franchise has used Clock King better. He has been in three Batman tv shows (60's, The Animated Series and The Brave and the Bold). Arrow, which was a show that lasted for 8 seasons, only used Clock King once. Well, he was in a Flash episode that's in the same shared universe, but still, it seems like a waste of potential.

@@Frogman1212 - Slade is also in the Bat-rogues gallery in the currently ongoing *"Joker: A Puzzlebox"*
I love that run, and I recommended it to Mr Rogues the other day...
And in it, Deathstroke is clearly treated as Batrogue, being locked up alongside Two-Face, Joker, Black Mask, Mr Freeze, Penguin, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Prof Pyg, Killer Croc, Bane, etc etc etc...
In 2019, we also got the 6-issues long *"Batman vs Deathstroke"* storyline which was actually pretty fun IMHO.
Damian's interactions with Slade are priceless in that one, following him around calling him "father" ^^
All of this to say, that ever since "Arkham Origins", it's hard to be mad at Bat-casuals when they call Slade a Bat-rogue, or even a Green Arrow rogues, since in *Arrow* , Slade was Oliver's original nemesis alongside Malcolm Merlyn.
It's only in season 5 with Prometheus that Oli got a new rival/nemesis, and then in 6/7/8 his enemies became way less personal.

Frankly Deathstroke and Ragdoll (II) should be Nightwing villains for thematic reasons
Deathstroke's history as a Titans villain has lead to him alternating between antagonizing Grayson and trying to influence him in a warped paternal kinda way. This makes Slade something of a warped reflection of Dick's relationship with Bruce
Meanwhile Ragdoll (II) acts as an interesting foil to Dick himself
While Nightwing was an acrobat, Ragdoll is a contortionist. While Nightwing has a strained relationship with Batman, Ragdoll had an abusive relationship with his father the original Ragdoll. While Dick is famous for being involved in love triangles and has had multiple girlfriends, Ragdoll is implied to be asexual/aromatic.

    Like
hugo strange and his monster men or Dracula , the mad monk, or noctuna which are the vampire types
Manbat or Anthony lupus are the werewolf types
Clayface when he frist appeared was kinda like the phantom of the opera

Deathstroke: starts off as an ally to batman and oliver queen when hes on the island, but then becomes deathstroke and starts his revenge quest against batman, but eventually switches to robin which naturally turns him into an enemy of the titans
Ragdoll: no plans yet other then he will be in flash series
Grundy: cyrus gold was victor stones friend but after the accident that forced victor to become cyborg, cyrus fell into a lake, the origins are shown in my solomon grundy short film which will be reused as a scene in that movie

I am a fan of the classic Teen Titans series where Slade, like in the comics, is the main enemy of the TT and had used Terra as apart of his evil schemes like in ' The Judas Contract' storyline of The New Teen Titans. The only difference is that Terra was not pure evil like her comic book counterpart but was an outcast.

Because I don't think that Batman needs Clue Master. He already has a villain who leaves clues behind the Riddler (Who is my favorite Batman bw). I think you can give Clue Master to someone else like Green arrow I think it would be really interesting Clue Master who leaves clues behind for the Green arrow the hero of Star city. Also another option maybe you can give Clue Master to The Teen Titans instead. I think it would be pretty interesting Clue Master taking on the Teen Titans. But yeah that's one villain that I don't think should be a Batman villain either. We have the Riddler leaves riddles as clues we don't need a Clue master leaving clues to the dark knight.

Maybe they think Batman could use an actual time rogue? I mean, there's plenty of time and clock villains in DC, but oddly enough, with the exception of Time Commander, none in the Gotham rogues gallery. Clock King fits pretty nicely too. Insane weirdo with a crazy fixation on something? Right up Rogues' alley.
Deathstroke... Given he's viewed as Nightwing's nemesis, a rivalry with Grayson's mentor was quite inevitable. Plus he's effectively an Anti-Batman when you think about it. Fantastic martial artist, loads of eccentric gadgets, brilliant tactical mind etc...
Grundy... This one makes sense, as he was originally an enemy of the Golden Age Green Lantern, who also protected Gotham. With that tie, Grundy facing the Bat at some point was inevitable.
Ragdoll probably only gets labelled as a Bat rogue because of his appearance on The Batman. And strictly speaking, it was TWO appearances on that show he made. I remember another episode where he joined Oswald, Garfield, Waylon and Durry for some heist. He'd actually probably be better off as a Batman villain too, I mean what good's his agility against the Golden Age Scarlett Speedster?

I wouldn't say they're necessarily "Batman villains", as much as they're simply "villains who've fought Batman". And since Batman is arguably DC's most popular hero, they probably throw different villains at him to "spice things up", & to make said villains more popular. And since Deathstroke is a mercenary & master martial artist, it kind of makes sense if he were an actual Batman villain (like: Lady Shiva, Bronze Tiger, & Ra's Al Ghul). Even though he's a Teen Titan villain, Deathstroke is still tied to Batman, thru Robin. And it's not the fault of "guest villains" that Batman's rogues don't get enough attention. It's DC's fault for primarily focusing on only a handful of "Bat rogues" (like: Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Ivy, Clayface, Croc, Bane, & formerly Harley).
