I've been enjoying your videos. Thanks for taking the time to share them.
Glad somebody still watching them! I don't get out on the water as much anymore but still intend to make videos when I can
Hate to lose the investment of money, time and effort of building rigs but, as you know, paying the Tax Man is part of the cost of doing business with the ocean. Le Tigre hadn't even woken up yet, by the time it reached your boat. SCCAAARRRRYYYYY!!!!!!
Oh yeah for reals. I wish it had just cut the line instead of following the rig up 650 feet to the yak lol
Bro 😂 i cant believe u reeled in that big ass shark all the way to the surface
Buggah tricked me by swimming all the way up to the kayak lol. Looked down and just saw one big shark face coming straight up 😂
Loved that the catch segment followed the rig making segment, so we could see the rig in action!
Thanks might try doing the same with other rigs too down the road
Looks like a queen snapper
Yeah Ehu (Short tailed red snapper) look very similar to Queens!
Good instructional on the deep drop rig. somewhat similar to how I make my damishi. I need to make one and try out deep dropping. Was that a queen snapper? and that looked look a Tiger shark, hopefully you got most of your line back.
Thanks! Yeah its pretty much just a 100 lb test damashi /Sabiki rig. Its really fun definitely recommend trying. The fish was an ehu so still on the hunt for that onaga. No doubt it was a tiger shark lol. I got most of my line back im sure the shark is fine too
@@AffordableWahoo Nice. It's on my list. I realized Tiger Shark was in the title after commenting lol
Right on!!! Mahalo for this!!!!!! That shark!! I would have cut the line as soon as I saw it 😂
Np hope it's useful for folks. I really should have chopped the line right away but the shark did run far and fast away at least!
I forgot to ask, any reason you went to a conventional reel for your deep drop set up?
@@haynfolife1 Oh yeah more line capacity, more cranking power. If I could to back i would have gotten the fathom instead of the squall for the high and low gear options.
@@AffordableWahoo right on brah! Mahalo. What kind of main line and leader are you using And about how much line does that reel hold?
Nice ehu catch. $40/lb at sac n save mkt. Tight lines
Lol dang its getting pricey. Mahalos and same to you 🤙
Been wanting a video like this! Can’t wait to get out there in September!
Right on 🤙 September should be a good time!
Also can do uni knot 2-3 wraps for 100lb mono
ah yeah save some money on crimps like that 🤙
Perfect timing! Thanks for the video!
Np try it out next time! U can go way out with that motor lol.
What was that snake looking thing?
Some kind of Moray Eel. Must be a deep sea species or something.
What kind of eel was that???
Only second time in my life I've seen this one. Some type of Moray for sure.
Appreciate the content!
Hope it helps 🤙🤙🤙
