I have a really long leader. 150 feet. I just let line out til my leader is all out and let a bit more if I'm marking fish deeper. Gotta remember too the line is gonna scope out at an angle so even with 200 feet line out the bait is probably only like 100 feet down

@DD15833 Yeah honestly I didn't see much difference using #60 mono vs #60 fluro so maybe can just use cheaper line. If u going for onos and mahis can just cruise in one direction and let the line out that way. Bait will run shallower and far out. For deeper fish like shibi better to drift and let the baiy swim more down.

Aloha Jesse unfortunately I haven't even been able to get out on the water myself for a couple months now! I also don't bring folks out due to the unpredictable nature of the ocean conditions. Gets hairy fast some days.

We are super lucky to have deep water close to shore and relatively calm seas (some of the time anyway). This area in the video is especially calm most of the year except for crazy unpredictable offshore winds. PNW fishing looks super legit too. Those cold water species are super tasty. The Avet I'm using is an MX but I'd say it's barely big enough. LX would be better.
