    I was just digging through my OLD archives re-watching some of your videos and thought I would check if you're doing okay? Since it has been SO LONG since we got any new posts from you...... we need some fresh Affordable Wahoo action! As some of us have to live vicariously through your posts. LOL Ya You, Lets Go!

      Thanks for giving some of the older vids a watch lol. Truck was in need of a long list of things and by the time I got everything done Winter (surf) has come so can't get out! Hoping to get out once before the years out so fingers crossed 🤞

    Nice session yet again 🙌🏻.
    If I’m struggling to catch livies I put some pro cure (Soft plastic scent) on my bait jig. Would probably work a treat with your rigs.

    Those were some big shibi and kawakawa filling your bag. I spied your big ono in the current Kayak Angler magazine. Congrats!

    That was a nice fish at the end, terrible brother, but that’s why they call it fishing… Would you able one day to show your stinger rig set up, how you tie to your main hook, etc.? If can… 🙏

      Wire leader stinger rig very simple Albright knot connection to flurocarbon or monofilament topshot.
      The Ono curse is real lol I haven't caught one since April 2023 even though I've hooked dozens 🤣🤣

    Nice fish. What is the purpose of the clear plastic piece on your live bait hook? Tight lines.

    • @AffordableWahoo
      @AffordableWahoo  11 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks! The plastic tab just helps keep the haywire twist loop of my stinger hook from slipping off 🤙🤙

    Hey, aloha! Can I ask about your live bait tube? Is that diy or store bought? Also, what do you think would be the max speed that would hold up to? Lol. Thanks, hope you’ve got new vids in the works and happy holidays from Maui!

    • @AffordableWahoo
      @AffordableWahoo  8 месяцев назад

      It's DIY if you search flying fish TV bait tube he has a full video how to build. I don't think it can be dragged very quick without killing the bait maybe 6 or 7 knots.

    Aloha, can I ask a fairly related question? How much ice do you bring with you? I'm looking at your bag on the Hobie website, but it doesn't seem like it would hold a whole lot. Apprecaite any thoughts you might have.

    • @AffordableWahoo
      @AffordableWahoo  11 месяцев назад +1

      I usually bring 15 - 20 lbs ice. It's enough to keep fish cool til I get back to my truck or home and transfer to a big cooler

    Thank you for another amazing video. Your fight with fishing and weather is bravo!
    at 9:43, may I ask why you cut the line of another rod with fish on hook?

    • @AffordableWahoo
      @AffordableWahoo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for stopping by and watching! At that time the other rod was only bending because the tuna had tangled in the rig as it dangled under the kayak. It was making the fish swim all weird so I had to cut it.

    How often do you fish the hilo side vs the Kona side?

    • @AffordableWahoo
      @AffordableWahoo  10 месяцев назад

      I live Hilo side so way more. Gets shut out a lot by waves or rain though.

    Hey brother, I just bought my first kayak and live on Oahu; would you be willing to link up and show me the ropes? I need to make friends that kayak, no way I'm going out that far by myself.
    If you're not down (stranger from the internet), I get it. . . But advice on the safest places/side to go out? I went out Haliewa so far but didn't want to risk it despite not many waves.

    • @AffordableWahoo
      @AffordableWahoo  11 месяцев назад

      Hey man I'm on the Big Island and don't know Oahu fishing ground at all! The FB group Hawaii Kayak Fishing has tons of guys that fish out there definitely worth checking it out 🤙
      P.S. Good that you're thinking about safety because things can go sideways so fast out there!
