Soo much stoke!!. Been watching your vids for months, learned a lot about the local fish/names/ techniques. Landed em spear fishing and landed my first fish on a whip today. Thanks for all your vids dadadagahdooooshhhh!!!
This is a great tutorial-very elaborate and clear! New whip skill i’m learning is to dive for tackle I loose when whipping. Haha not only cost efficient but good for our ocean 🤙🏾 Have a great day!
Shaka Fishing we been playing with the idea and shot some footage but yeah I think it would make a good video! I’ll be waiting for your vid on that!! Haha
Love your vids brotha. Very informative. Lots of information for beginners. Subbed real quick and hit that notification button. Look forward to more videos.
Question bruddah, A) are you on oahu ? b) if you’re fishing at say Ka’ena point, what about when you have a pole sitting in the water, how to not get those weights you’re tossing out there stuck in the rocks for retrieval when checking for bait?
I am now on Oahu, this was filmed Big I. If you are dunking (static weight in the water with bait) your only going to get your lead back with any consistency if you are able to target a sandy area. Otherwise your leads are tax payments to the fish. You can get to like a 30% retrieval rate on other substrates if you practice bumping your lead (give like a foot of slack and then bounce your lead by applying quick tension to the line). This can be improved by learning the feel for how locked in your lead is when setting your line and stopping tension before full boar locked in the rocks mode. However, ideally a fish will crush your line and break off the lead line anyway and you will be trading fish for weight.
could you put up a tutorial on what to use for live bait and how to use live bait? your guys vids have taught me how to get better at fishing instead of just guessing like how I've been doing for so long(lol no one really taught me how to fish growing up I'm 18 now). support from Oahu.
I cant imagine that rig is very effective I catch small grouper, trevally and lots of lizard fish.. Tnx bro.. Fish be with you...still fishing here in Jeddah
Bruddah gonna be in honolulu this coming weekend looking to fish if you have time and would like to do a colab that would be cool. If not maybe some tips and spots to fish!?
Good stuff! Mahalo! Q: Is a Penn Slammer III 4500 too much reel for whipping? If not, can you suggest a medium light pole? What do you suggest for line? Mono, braid? And what pound test? Thanks again and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Very good video. I've been watching you guys for a little while now. Are you prior service? A lot of "Roger that" and " Negative". Thanks for the videos! I've based my style off you guys.
Rods do not work well on both ends. A good whipping rod works well because the springy whip like action, where you want a medium to medium light action rating. A good dunk works well because it holds strong and is stiff when put down in a pole holder. You want a heavy or medium heavy action rating for that. You can get a good ~3000 series reel though and that would cover your bases for both whipping and dunking. Your whipping would be a little bit of a reel and your dunking a little small but they could work out. Check our review of the KastKing Sharky III, that could be used for both, or the kodiak.
Price range under $100 reel for saltwater wipping at Kauai going there next week just trying to get a good all around that can handle most if not all of the fish you can hook from the shore. Thanks
Awesome video and mahalo! Heading to Maui in a couple months to fish with family and their locals tournament. I'm gonna try whipping but have seen others online with a casting bubble. Much different than using lead? I know it'll run shallow/topwater. Help me not look so haole googan, lol
For sure man, the new KastKing Sharky III just came out and is $50. It is a crazy deal, get the 3k size and you will be good to go. See it here. amzn.to/2DhlOAk Or the new Cadence Fishing CS10 which is right at 100 is an amazing reel as well you can check it out here cadencefishing.com?aff=9

Thanks ordered two.
Oh right on which ones?
Can you use bait (squid) with the top water method or is it just for the bottom/sand method?
Can defiantly use it top water! Cut it in strips like our squid video and use it as a lure.
Thanks for all the help and for the awesome vids!
Thanks for the support!
Ho not the 2 camera views ah. Any luck with the mark whites?
Double the Braddah! lol

I thought whipping meant tying a leader to the end of a bullwhip with a piece of bait attached
Where you hear that def? Sounds about the same but with lures.
It was just something burning in my crazy mind
Have you ever used kites, balloons, or floats?
Hi I'm 3rd I think
Confirmedddd!
My style of whipping is just lose ALL my hammer bombs. Even the one I️ got from you. Lol
LMAO. Dude I know the struggle, end up diving out there so often grabbing my snags lol.
Ouch...them things, though great, are expensive.
