@@gameboyv1790 no such thing as a BEST board, but KeyChron has boards in stock and pretty fast shipping. Their cases have some pretty bad pinging but that's easily fixed

QK65 R2 is releasing at the end of the year. Cub65 is a separate product line and is not the successor to the QK65.

Regarding the warm off-white color, that seem to be a constant among qwertykeys white boards, which is imo the main downside of qwertykeys boards. Got that on the qk65, got that on the qk75 as well
I think what makes the QK65 sound the way it does is the lower case design and the huge silicon wedge in the bottom case. After using the QK65 for almost a year and loving it I purchased a QK75 and if it had that wedge I think it would sound a lot better but sadly it just doesn’t sound as good as the OG.

New to this hobby. Can you explain the benefit of a 1.6mm non flex cut PCB? I have the R1 Jris 65 but I actually need to get a new PCB for it since I messed mine up. My first board lol. So I was going to buy just a PCB.
@@joelman1989 Flex cut PCBs tend to have a more airy / less full sound. Less rigid PCBs (like a 1.2 mm vs. 1.6mm) also translate less vibration from the PCB / plate assembly to the case, and tend to be quieter. Keybored has a video with a Thera75 v2 where he tapes the flex cuts and does a before and after!
That said, sound is also going to be affected by the given case / switches / plate type. I’d say if you want something with as soft a typing experience as possible and don’t want to solder, get a polycarbonate or POM plate and a 1.2 mm flex cut PCB. You can get an even softer typing experience if you’re willing to solder a plateless build. Otherwise, you’ll very likely get a fuller sound at the expense of some softness in the typing experience with a 1.6 mm think pcb with no flex cuts. Also if you’re going for a stiffer plate (e.g. FR4, Carbon Fiber, Aluminum) I think the flex cuts will offer even less benefit.
I’d also highly recommend picking up an extra daughterboard/jst cable! I actually just bought one (even though my R1 version works fine) because the original JST cable was so dang short.

I received this in white and I absolutely love it! I realised that illumkb has Zoom65 EE R2 in stock. Is it worth buying the Zoom65 when I already have this? I remember banging my head when I missed the GB of zoom in lilac colour. I always want lilac or pink but I end up getting neutral colour and think that I should get one in pretty colours…

Gorgeous. Would have gone for this but I went for JRIS65 after missing the QK65. So many other good keebs came out before I even received my JRIS -_-
tbh I don't like the sound of tapping on hollow aluminum, which is what this sounds like to me. I'm happy with my jris65 and never thought twice about not getting the QK65 lol

Amazing Content!!. Well here are my thoughts after owning a QK65. Honestly the board felt so dead without the PE Foam, I tried tons of switches, configs, and mods. I could never make this board clack like the sound signature I always wanted. Overall it is still an amazing board! If you are into marbly/creamy sounding board, you cant go wrong with a qk65 and this new board right here.
The Cub65 comes with a non-flex cut PCB option, unlike the QK65 though. So hopefully that will help with the sound. Curious to see reviewers test this out with the non-flex PCB in the future to see if this board will be capable of some clack!

i like the purple color (2:40) and rounded corners. finally a place for my hangwa caps, i was gonna put it on my current board but they didn't match the color at all

Man im gonna miss this too can't even get this when im from Serbia. The reason is always shpping fee and sometimes tax fee and serbia isn't an eu country. 😔😢

They need to upfront the cost now rather than making us the consumers go through a GB process again.
the key here is the customization options - obviously can't offer that much flexibility if it's in-stock. At least not for small companies like us.
Nothing to do with this video but not sure If I'll ever jump to any group order boards ever. Decided to go with QK75 as my first custom board and still waiting here in EU. Meanwhile they came out with TKL board which had late group order at Candykeys. Also new version of QK65 coming out. Either Qwertykeys isn't shipping any to EU or something is up with Candykeys.
It’s possible it’s getting sent to CandyKeys before getting shipped to you. Supposedly, the qk75 should have started shipping recently.
@@AAButtery Yep, I know that it’s shipped trough Candykeys. They first said that they’ll receive them in April when I asked in February and then they said first week of May in April. So hopefully they have actually received them from Qwertykeys and they’re shipping them.

Yea why spend $600 on a 65% when you can get this. Most of the time you can't see the bottom of your board anyways and most 65% look the same
The only real competitor for the qk65/cub65 that you can still order in stock is the mode envoy

The new tofu is pretty mid imo it doesn’t sound very good probably because of the flex cuts

How is the QK65 going for $400? It literally defeats the whole point that it is a budget keyboard. So many other keyboards are mid to high-end that cost that much. Just get one of those instead.
