Let us know how you do with removing the T27 and T40 torx security screws. This part is really downplayed in the video.
I am in the process right now. The T27 and T40 are challenging. Heating with a torch is critical-I don’t know how I would have gotten them off without it. Also, it’s not possible to do it with a screwdriver handle. You need a short extension that will connect to a ratchet. I didn’t have a square ratchet to hex connector so I struggled to unscrew it using vice grips.
@@davidstirling6063 you are exactly right. I got the first 5 of the 6 Torx bolts out, but the 6th was a pain until I heated it to 400F. Also, mine were NOT security Torx as he claims in the video.
This is incredible! Kudos to whoever figured this out and designed this piece. I would love to have this on my 08!

@wontstopme77 it's great. Comes in handy for lunch breaks, hanging out or when hauling larger items. Installation was super straightforward as well.

So stoked to get mine installed , I was lucky enough to get one in the silent auction at the PNW meet, passenger side for now , but I will have the driver too eventually. Unfortunately its 120 here in Phoenix so garage time is not high on my list right now
Please add some measurements for the cuts necessary for the rear floor trim piece. Some specifics would be very helpful.

I finally did my 2008 Honda Element today. Can the car be driven after the connections are made and prior to doing the jumper portion??

Thanks for making this video! I'm trying to take off my driver seat and it's driving me crazy! My driver seat doesn't slide forward as much as my passenger seat and I can't, for the life of me, remove the plastic guard under the seat to reach to rear seat bolts. PLEASE HELP!
Just put mine in today. The upper bolt at 4:14 would only half thread into the bolt without the washer (too short). You think it’ll be okay? Also, the swivel lever catches on the frame of the swivel seat itself, also normal? I also didn’t have to reset my airbag btw!

it can work with the sc '08 model, but you'll have to remove the center console completely... my husband and i are doing this install today, and we removed the center console after removing the passenger seat... but we also plan to make our own custom center console that will work with our new swivel seat setup.

Is this safe in a crash?
This is the real question. With the seatbelt being anchored to the seat, nothing is holding the passenger in place except the swivel assembly. Has this assembly been crash tested?
@@johnhunt2390 @Birdman757 Of course it hasn't been crash tested. IF it had been, Hiro would have had to double the price. Note on the website that it says 'offroad use only' which is what almost all aftermarket bits and bobs say as legal coverage (especially in California) to do something that the a DMV safety officer would disapprove of, or which has not been tested within an inch of its life. THIS IS HOW THE INDUSTRY IS. So caveat emptor. (But I will be buying them for Christmas.)
Yeah 1000 bucks for both front seats is high...
