I've been a fan of yours since I first saw y'all at Peabody's in the Cleveland Flats about 22 years ago. I'm happy to see you still making music!
And I've seen y'all at least ten times. I think I caught a road picture of the sign for Black Rock in MD (not on purpose, just driving through). I just saw your collaboration with Dispatch, and it is awesome. I'm stoked because your music got me into Dispatch. I never got to see them live in my younger days, but I am going to Hulaween and I am ecstatic they are playing. Any chance y'all are going too?

Agreed... I've been a fan of O.A.R since 1998 and I really enjoyed every album they put out until King. All Sides was really the last one that I liked all the way through. After that I liked one or maybe two songs every album. This album though I haven't been able to like any song, at least not so far. Maybe after a few more listens I'll come to like something but I doubt it.

Everyone that’s panicking here about the sound & how it’s not to their particular liking. I understand that we all enjoy this band for their fun, catchy, musicianship & the live experience. They are always much better live & many songs evolve to sound like something completely different compared to the official record. Also, you can’t just keep repeating yourself & it’s good to step into the unknown or else we as people would never evolve. Overall, song is good, not something that I’ll have on repeat but it’s enjoyable to listen to & a nice feel good tune. You can never go wrong with that.
OAR has always stayed true to its organic nature and of course each album doesn't sound exactly the same but I feel most of the concerning issue here is the apparent use of electronics and most especially on Marc's voice.
If I may be so bold as to say I think it's one of the biggest reasons OAR has the fan base it has, because they have always been so organic. Nothing about this "sound" feels organic.
@@Melodee420 fair comment, just as long as their live performances aren’t manipulated by anything other than them and their instruments im ok with it. I also recall many when SOAS, & all sides came out saying how they sold out & want that classic OAR sound but now both albums have songs people consider classics 😂 trust me I get where your coming from but I don’t think they would ever do something that would damage the fan base & stray away from being able to perform their songs with their instruments only. I just don’t see them having a DJ playing a record while Marc sings solo 😂
And it was written by Adam Friedman who writes these kind of up songs. It’s a different style for them but I like it.

I love O.A.R. and always will. I also like when bands try different types of music to see what works and what doesn't. I'm afraid I'm with most of the other comments that this really doesn't work for me. I will be seeing them in September in Virginia Beach which will be my 10th O.A.R. concert I've been too.

Hey Guys, following you for years and am always excited about your new creations. This time though I am a bit scared, it doesnt sound like you. The Lyrics are good for sure but I miss the OAR style, the sound that describes you. So I have to be honest, I dont like the electronic Beats. I really liked the last song light switch sky, so OAR! Keep true to yourself, you are great as you are. Best wishes from Germany
Would consider holding comments/feelings until you hear the band play it LIVE. What happens in the studio and on stage are connected but different. Remember, this is ART. Give it some time and make sure you see what they do with it.
@@elliottselzer1643 one of the biggest reasons I've always admired OAR is that there's little to no discconet from album to live performances.
Currently, my jam! Honestly, I thought it was the band Train. During the chorus, the singer kinda sounds like the singer for TRain, in my opinion.
