I had to forgo my appointment , so it was all for nothing and have to do it all again. After reading and watching YT i will be doing a longer pre prep and 2 days of clear fluids with laxatives , and then do the prescribed preparation. Not doing the issued one again for no result.
Omg finally I’m not the only one I’m freaking out, my doctor is already mad and impatient from it not working the last time! I don’t even have the urge, he has me on 2 day prep of castor oil ducolax and prep
Perhaps you should just try it yourself.
I did, it didn't work till the second dose the day after.
Thank you for reassurance. I follow prep instructions also ear lite 4 days prior and only yogurt or soft foods. Currently taking Miralax with Gatorade with the bicos pills. I just don’t know if it’s going to work since the first part of it has not worked yet and the test is at 10o’clock in the morning. It is very frustrating because sometimes I do not think the doctors practice believes that you have taken all the prep and follow directions but I do. Thank you for the video it was very calming and reassuring.

I actually think you're the only video that addresses the situation. Currently I am prepping for tomorrow. Nothing is going on. It's been over 5 hours. I only have two more for this part. And the second part starts at 4 a.m.

Not trying to be funny but my prep reminded me of the Colon Blow scene in Van Wilder. It was intense and I was so sore when it was over. Thankfully, I won’t need another colonoscopy for ten years.
Thank you so very much for telling me this! I am a slow pooper and am having a colonoscopy. I haven't had any results yet and followed directions exactly. It's been 2 hours and I was worried sick. Then you explained things. I also have Acalasia. It's hard to push too many fluids down real fast. But I did. However, I can feel water still sittin g in my esophagus. Im praying this 1st bottle of Clenpiq works soon!

I ended up going to another Doctor. It never worked for me. Try a couple Ducolax pills to help it. My new Dr. gave me Golytely and the night before the cleansing I took 3 Ducolax tablets before bed. . The Combination worked well and no discomfort. The Golytely was not bad to drink, but I found it better without the flavor pack. I just did my colonoscopy again 9 days ago . All was clean and no polyps. You may also try an enema to help it get started. Good Luck, If nothing happens call the doctor. , no one solution works for every one. ..

What does it mean when your 2 day prep doesn't work and have to do a 3rd and try the procedure again?
HI, I tried Suprep 2 times. The first time it worked some . The second time it did nothing. It laid in my gut and I got very cold and my body started to ache very bad. I even drank extra water then I had to. I have a new doctor now. The last one did not even call to see how I was when I cancelled 3 hours before and left a detailed message of my experience. . The new doctor wants to try Golytely . Is this much different then Suprep? My procedure is March 24th and I just want it over. Thanks
I wonder why they made me drink the bowel prep if it may be possible that marilax tablets may be avalible.
I went to the bathroom 3 days in a row. Then i do the liquid diet and prep, and it has been 14 hours, i went a little this morning, but I still have no full emptying. Is it the lemon juice in my miralax?
Hi Dr Cary, question. Some times when I wake up and go to the toilet I have the sensation and my stools are moving to come out but my sphincter is shut tight? What can I do?.

My second time doing the pill cam test and I have been taking Laxido for 7 days prior along with high fibre diet as advised,I then a day before had nothing to eat and just the bowel prep and now thier saying again! Doesn't look as though it's worked iv los weight too I was 9.9 stones I'm now 9 stones ... I'm not sure what to do or what I'm doing wrong
Is it not possible to take a large dose of laxatives. A doctor once had me take 8 laxatives due to "fecal impaction". I can't imagine there being anything left inside me afterwards.

14 hours after doing miralax prep, I only just went very little. I have lemon juice, so hopefully that isn't why. My appointment is at 1130 am, hoping I will have more movements before leaving home. Is it lemon juice?
I live in Richmond Virginia myself and have severe constipation. I was seen at bon secours St Mary's hospital and I've been trying to cleanse with magnesium citrate for the last 3 days but I still can't cleanse my colon. Is your office typically busy? I would like to schedule something soon.
I drank an entire bottle of that stuff once (as per my Dr) and it did nothing. Literally nothing. My friend drank like a quarter of one and she was on the toilet for hours 😑

I followed the procedure and started drinking the miralax at 6pm. 8pm and haven’t felt a thing yet . I’m worried now that I won’t be clean enough. I’m considering getting another small bottle of miralax just to be sure?!
2 day prep including 2 bottles Miralax and 8 Dulcolax and it's still filthy with only a few hours to go even though I followed instructions scrupulously
I just went through a colonoscopy myself and had issues. I can't tell anyone to do anything but what I did was to use a saline enema to disimpact myself and that got things moving.

i have hemiparesis (left side) from stroke. my last prep started at noon and was still cloudy and forceful at 9am folllowing day. procedure cancelled. STILL going at noon, finally took 1/2 immodium. i have had v. hard time finding new dr who had any understanding of "spinal cord" issues. is this not trained on? ...POsitive cologuard test so has to get done; new instructions r barely any different than old. i'm not only person to ever survive stroke, how can this be such a problem? am i just asking wrong questions?

Of all the things in life and now this has to happen 3 1/2 hrs and nothing moving. Trying to remain calm. Crazy thing is I take Metamucil everyday and you’d think it would be falling out of me ?

I've done a FIVE-DAY PREP of Dulcolax plus Miralax, and I am still having normal bowel movements, no liquid bowel movements. Since college, I've suffered from Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C). Nothing but nothing gets my bowels moving.
I cant poop and thats the whole reason i need a colonoscopy. I have tried 4 or 5 diff laxatives and they dont work. How is a bowel prep gonna work?
I go once (sometimes twice) and I took a magnesium citrate drink at noon. (Just to clean everything out) and it really didn’t work. I mean I pooped a few times like normal. But it didn’t really clean everything out like it did 6 years ago when I did it. Why? It’s been over 7 hours and I just had a few little Squirts but that’s about it.
Same with me. I thought it would clean everything out but nope i went twice very small amount!

Stupid su tabs don’t work either I’ve been prepping all day and took the first set of 12 tabs at 5 pm and here it is 1145 pm and still nothing 😢I even started the second set of pills at 1030 pm and still nothing just lots of cramping ! I’m over it ! This sucks ! Now I’m gonna have to reschedule my colonoscopy cause I haven’t had a bowl movement once during this whole awful thing ! 😮

I have a colonoscopy tomorrow Saturday. I have never had one before. I took the first prep which was tablets at 4pm and second 5pm which is powder mixed in water and done exactly what they told me to do. So far it has not started working. They did not ask me questions about my bowel habits before hand and they have just gone by the book, and as you say some who go three days without going it may take longer for it to work, but since my procedure is tomorrow I am patiently waiting for it to start working and just hope it does soon,, as I want to get it all over and done with. Its around 6.45pm now. It states it can take up to 3 hours to work..I am to take another one 3hrs tomorrow before going to hospital, I hope I dont have accidents when travelling there as will be going via public transport and am sure anyone else has the same concerns too. For anyone who is to have this procedure done who hasnt before, Yes you feel very hungry and can feel a little lousy as well if you have never gone 24hr without food before.., as have to starve for 24hrs for the procedure., Black coffee with sugar may help as they say you can drink this and tea without milk and some say that coffee fills you up so I am trying that...

I'm due to have a virtual colonoscopy, I'm actually more worried about the prep than i am about the scan!, Not least because one of the reasons I'm having a scan is looser bowels than I used to, I was born with spina bifida and it affects that area sometimes, having said that my normal routine is maybe once every couple of weeks! And I go big!! Lol. So I'm both worried that the prep will make me really 'go' and it will be a panic to make it in time, but also that it won't work, over the counter laxatives, like fybogel sometimes have no or very little affect on me. I wondered also what opinions on virtual colonoscopies are? Are they as effective as old school colonoscopies?
Just get the colonoscapy virtual is a delay especially if you have issues

So here’s my problem I’m a migraine suffer, which makes me super sensitive to tastes and smells so I can’t do liquid I literally throw up from it so the doctor always allowed me to take tablets whatever was on the market was wonderful.
I guess it was causing kidney problems. They took it off the market and now there is SuTab.
I had a 1 PM colonoscopy I was told to take Sutab at 5 AM and 8 AM was not enough time. I certainly didn’t go enough and they had to cancel it so now he wants me to take two boxes of the SuTab.
Anyone else experience this?
Yeah I did my prep exactly to the letter. It mostly worked except the very end of it was not completely cleaned out. Dr was all like blah blah at me. Ok get me the right stuff.
I had exactly the same happen . Cancelled the colonoscopy so now i have to do it all over again. I am going to ask for an extended bowel prep next time and start earlier. Not something you want to be doing for no result.
Is it just me, or are Fleet Enemas not as effective when you get older? I used to use those when I was younger as a final purge before heading out the door to my procedure, but they don't seem so productive anymore. I only had one prep that was ineffective, they went in anyway and were able to finish. But my doctor did mention I was full of chit. lol
One additional comment-the first colonoscopy I had was when I was in my mid 30's, about 30 years ago. Back in those days they didn't mess around, it was a '3 day prep' and the day before your procedure they wanted you to down a big glass of Cod Liver Oil mixed with orange juice! I was like drinking engine oil, that stuff is nasty tasting and consistency! But it DOES work. About an hour after I managed to choke down half a class of it (it wasn't easy!) I was laying on the couch watching TV and my stomach started to make nasty noises-like the Van Wilder colon blow scene. I barely made it down the hallway and it POURED and POURED. I usually can't go to the bathroom for one month or more until I take some kind of laxatives. I can only poop in liquid form. I knew my bowel prep will not work. So I water fast for 3days before. Started my prep 3 days before my appointment. I took Pico salax with dulcolax. Not working. So 6days no food only water and only bloating, very little bowel movements. I call my doctor they switch to peglyte. Thankfully I have one more day before the apt. I am to mix the power with water and drink all of it the day before. It comes in plastic bottle. I will start that in the morning.

Yep, I had a lot of pain. I had difficulty swallowing also, sometimes for more than a month I couldn’t go unless I drink a salt water flush. The peglyte worked very well. My prep was good. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy done. They removed about 6to 8 polyps from my stomach and intestines.
No more pain and I am semi- regular(weekly) and that’s very normal for me. I can take the peglyte any time.

A salt water flush first thing in the morning before eating anything worked better for than any laxatives as they only give me bloating and gas. I would advise you to start a soup diet with no meat right up to the start of your prep. It will work, don’t worry too much. The procedure is very easy. I felt nothing and it’s over in a flash. I had a really good sleep.

I've had 4 colonoscopies and i haven't been able to get cleaned out enough for the doctors to see anything, so they did a colonography and that wasn't very successful either
Have the doctors suggested trying Miralax with Gatorade and the Dulcolax pills? That’s the only one that works for me.

You need to avoid all fluids 2 hours before procedure.
My doctor turned away many 'dirty' clients, including me. I fasted for 3 days and took juice as prescribed ....NOT DOING THAT AGAIN....I'm not afraid of death becuz my faith knows that my death is about completion. If I have it in 4 yrs , I will drink amd be merry
My procedure is on Monday. I ate only what I should have all day Saturday, cottage cheese with lime jello. Took the two pills “Biasacodyl”, Saturday at bedtime 10:30pm and by 5:00am visited toilet three times and “it” came out like someone turned on a faucet!🤣 Now Sunday got to drink half of my “Gavilyte” at 7:00pm tonight and again finish off at 3:00am Monday morning! I think what you eat a day or two before your prep will definitely help to empty that colon out.
Bisacodyl absolutely murdered my stomach. 😄 It gave me cold sweats, nausea, and it felt like an elephant had been stamping on my stomach. 😮
Did you drink a lot of water with the Bisacody pills or just a sip and swallow? I'm going for my colonoscopy next Monday and my instructions don't mention drinking any certain amount of water with my three Bisacody pills. It only mentions consuming a certain amount of water with the purg-odan packets.

Well, the Mrs has now finished the whole 4 litres, sat up all night and still hasn’t pooped. 4 hours until the procedure. 🤷♂️ she sounds like a water bucket sloshing around when she paces around the bathroom. I almost pooped just by looking at the jug. I feel for all of you folks.
Yeah well my 2-bottle prep didn't work (though I was gushing out on my pot at least 10 times) - after all that the water was still brown with no additional BMs 18 hours before the proceducure. Went through with it anyway and still found residual matter. Now I have to repeat the whole thing with something more aggressive, and I'm stuck paying for two precedures. I'm insisting on the GoLitely method next time.
I'm with you!!! ITS BS we have to pay for the second one when we can't see in there but yet the toilet is telling us that we are good!!!! I had clear /yellow bm's the morning of mine and then got told I wasn't clear, they were going to reschedule for later in the month, I said absolutely. not, I had to take 2 days off, and this isn't happening again!!! And I need shoulder surgery, not taking more time then one day more, where is there an opening tomorrow. They got me in at noon the next day and said I had to stay on the Split Mirlax Gatorade, duh, guess what. I didn't do anything other than what I had done that morning of the first one, clear/yellow. Now tell me how we are supposed to see up in our own "arse" and tell if we are clear if what coming out is as they describe what they want to see. So 2,000.00 later I'm fighting BCBS and the dr's office to code it so it is covered. Not one thing in our health policy does it mention if a failure happens and what is and is not covered. It just states 1 colonoscopy per 5 years. Well in my world, I didn't have a colonoscopy because they didn't get far into the colon so nothing was seen. So tired of this bullshit on these companies and drs offices. I did ask if I was going to be getting a bill from the cleaning crew, nurses and others that set the room up because I got 6 bills, 3 for each one! Back in the day it was all on one bill you didn't have tons of mail with bills that you have to sort through to figure out who gets paid what and why they get paid!!! UGH!!
I have server IBS I gotten my first colon check when I was 20 found over 100 Polyps and after that one got check again 6 months later with 45 and so they tested that and turns out I have a genetic gene that causes colon and other parts of my body cancer. My last colon check was July 3 2017 they sent those off and for the first time can't tell me if I have cancer or not. Due to me not healing I now have to wait a year to get my colon and throat check. Yesterday before thanksgiving I call to have a colon prep I tried drinking a colon drink from the store and a Enema and didn't work. So I drink the whole colon prep in one day still not a lot happening so I be worry I may have a polyps blocking me?
I use to get them check every 6 months but I'm not healing. I haved Ra and some kind of bone disease I'm going to Maryland to see a tissue doctor in Jan I'm taking close to 15 pills today no pain meds mostly for ra, to stop the tumors to go and also for my bladder my cancer gene can cause ovarian, bladder, colon, throat, chest, and stomach cancer so have to get them all check some every 6 months others once a year.

@@crystalhytower1982 I had my colon removed and now currently have 3 tumors in my body so taking shots and see my cancer doc in July overall I'm okay. IBS is no joke and if my doctor didn't take me seriously I would had died from cancer years ago so hopefully they keep finding tumors in time. I want to thank you for asking me how I was doing. I hope your doing great and getting colon check is just so important before your even at the top age to do so here I was near 20 so goes to show no age matters for colon cancer and issues

Drank the prep - took days off work. Followed the instructions, drank so much water my pee is completely clear. Prep still failed. I hate this lol
Wouldn’t you think, with today’s fabulous science/procedures Doctors would have sorted this ‘Prep’ out and come up with a 100% foolproof procedure to prepare for a Colonoscopy …..
Well they can put man on the moon, you would think this procedure would, in 2024 be simple and effective first time and not have to be repeated two or three times….
