Will so glad you had this done as suggested by your Dr. at the age of 50. Glad of the outcome and you sharing with others. The same thing happened to me at the age of 43 due to them checking on another health issue. So we never know when this can happen. Joined today this is my third video I’m loving it. Thank you for your fear one of the ocean that was phenomenal and encouraging.
It should be said that this is not how a normal colonoscopy is performed. If you're an average, healthy person, you're not going to be under anesthesia, and you don't get any drugs at all (this was my experience, at least). They give you a pair of shorts with an opening in the back and tell you to lay on your side. The funny thing is, having a colonoscopy about three years ago is actually a fond memory of mine because I got to see my insides in super-HD; parts of me that had never seen light before, while the doctor explained what we were seeing on the screen which had the live camera feed and a 3D representation of how the camera chord was forming within my body. Aside from about five seconds of slight discomfort as he was adjusting the chord, I felt no pain at all. All was well, and I have zero fear of the next inevitable check-up. I'm now realizing that I am replying to the wrong comment, and I have no idea who I was trying to reply to :P ..but there it is. If you think something might be wrong or you just want to make sure you're healthy, get checked. It's not a big deal at all.
I’m positive for a gene that makes me much more susceptible to cancers of the colon and rectum, I’ve put off getting a colonoscopy for 5 years and as I sit here prepping for my first tomorrow, hungry as can be, the fear was setting in, but you’ve made this easier Will, thank you

Will Smith continues to amaze me. This was one of the best usage of social media I've seen in a long time. We know that much to often African American men do not go to have this procedure done and it has costs many of them their lives. Thank you Will for letting us see the non-event this procedure is. Although it is a serious matter, you showed that we don't have to be so serious when going through it. But, it seriously needs to be done. I've had the procedure myself and it was some of the best sleep I've ever had! Lol. You're a good man Wll Smith. I've always had much respect for you and it has only increased. Take care and be well.

I’m going through the “prep” phase now and I was nervous about it, so I decided to type “colonoscopy” into RUclips to try and learn a little more about what’s happening. I had no idea I’d find Will Smith going through this same sorta thing. I just wanna say thank you for helping me learn more about my procedure and I’m glad your result was an overall good one! I hope my results are good as well
Turns out I’m in the same boat as Will. I had a precancerous polyp and have to get checked every 3 years now. Glad I didn’t let it get any worse. Anybody out there who is afraid of the doctors, I understand but but put your fears aside because you could be prolonging your life so you can be around your loved ones.
3 months late but yes. I had to pause the video just to check the comments. "Smile, SMILE, guy!" Rudest person I've ever seen next to Will seriously. I'm both glad and not glad he took a picture anyway. Glad, because there would have been such a fuss about him being mean about it. Or "above" his fans. And NOT glad, because he didn't stand up for himself when he didn't feel well. If I were a fan, at a hospital, in an elevator with Will Smith, I would probably ask him if he's alright. Especially seeing as he had a bandage too.... /rant over.

Such a genuine person honestly. He's just a normal fun guy under all the fame and fortune.
faultyJACK Yes I love him so much🤦♀️
It should be said that this is not how a normal colonoscopy is performed.
@@TheRailwaystationist you can reply to mine I said the same of my endoscopy and colonoscopy
No joke Will you probably saved thousands of life with this eye opening vlog
I have a lot of appreciation for this as a nurse, thank you for showing this and how important it is ❤️
I’m positive for a gene that makes me much more susceptible to cancers of the colon and rectum, I’ve put off getting a colonoscopy for 5 years and as I sit here prepping for my first tomorrow, hungry as can be, the fear was setting in, but you’ve made this easier Will, thank you
update on how it went?
@@SoSquadOfficial it went much better than I thought! Mind over matter
As a nurse, Im happy seeing this video bcs it spreads awareness to take care of our health.A compliant patient is the best give to all medical providers! Health screening is important guys!
Some times noncompliance is needed in a healthcare setting, especially when a patient's human dignity is in jeopardy.
@@a.banterings5595 how does that violate your human dignity?
I love the silent movie part, brilliant whether planned or necessity
The fact that they found something that could have been serious so early is mind blowing
Which is why screening is so important.
Wavers Paradise what did they find?
On Fleek Pre cancerous polyps in his colon.
Just had mines today at 45 yrs old and crazy enough I cut my hair too before the procedure. To God Be The Glory everything came back normal.
What were your results? And did you get it just because of did you have symptoms?
The Doctor is so calm. I like her bedside manner.
Shes calm because Will Smith is her patient😂
I met him at universal doing a tour of the back lot and he’s such a genuine nice funny guy! Glad to see him keep his health in check! We want you here for quite a while more ❤️
Thank you, Will. This took courage and you're saving lives with this kind of video.
Absolutly 😄
No matter how bad it gets you always go through it kicking down a brick wall, I love you for that. Don't ever change
Your doctor she's so beautiful and caring you are lucky to have her we need more caring doctors such as herself.
Literally
Save his life
More people needs to see this
loses the audio for a clip, then turns it into a silent film, more youtubers should adopt this fix it fast method cause it's great lol.
Yea it was soo funny too
I loved it
He is a great producer !!
Mine is tomorrow and I am scared !! I am alone due to COVID - I just want to be back smiling like you. Glad they did it on you. My fingers crossed for my results.
How did it go?
How did it go? I have mine soon and I am terrified 😢

The vibes when his doctor said he has a polyp in him. Will’s mood changed. He looked worried yet I know he is thankful that they discovered it right away. Whatever happens to Will affects everyone because he is such a great influence to the society.

It takes patience and energy to compose yourself after doing such medical exam. And Will even managed to give a fan a selfie session. I would've yelled "Not today!!!" Bravo, Will! 💪🙏💕

Lol, this colonoscopy cost umm 3 or 4 million. I know.. they're rough. ♡
RIGHT!!!
I've always looked up to you man ever since I was a kid. I still do to this day. I never expected you to be perfect, but I know you're a good person. Thanks for sharing this experience. I'm not 50 yet, I'm 32 ; due to some issues , I'm getting my first one done in a couple of days. Watching this makes me feel less anxious.
Ps, I'm still laying one brick a day , as perfectly as a brick can be laid. ;)
Such a wonderful thing that he's bringing awareness to the importance of health matters. Can he get any better? He's such an amazing being.
Yes that is generous because it's a very private part of your body 😄
The hospital bit reminds me when Will got shot and saved Carlton
Same all I could think about was will Carlton loosing it.
Goodness...you’re right
I want to give this a like but it is on 69

Great Job for Sharing your video. I had my second one done in February of 2022 everything was Okay. Again you are indeed one Great person for doing what you did and letting the world know that we all need this done in your life. Thanks Will Smith.
Wow. He just saved his life, catching that polyp early.
Agree! Polyps are a lot more common than people think as you age!
It’s 2020.
Really good to know all you can about your health even though it does scare some people. Get as many tests and evaluations as you can. Live long and prosper. Also. Polyps are not generally cancerous. They are not supposed to be present though so it is nice to have them snipped out.
Wow.

I’m 24 years old and I’m having this procedure tomorrow.

That dude was so aggressive about getting a picture, I see why celebs be snapping on people when they ask for pictures and videos
Forced him to take a picture and then told him to smile🙄
The guy said” yes,i need to do this” like if someone is forcing him to take the picture with will 🤦🏼♀️
3 months late but yes. /rant over.
fame comes with baggage. if you don't want the baggage then don't be famous. will smith handled this situation with reason and class. one of my favorite actors
But then again who wouldn't do it if they bumped into Will Smith?! I known I for sure would! The guy is amazing, he is one of the few FAMOUS for a real and worth reason to always go about with a huge smile!
Thank you for the encouragement Will! Had my colonoscopy today as a 25 year old and they found 1 polyp and hemorrhoids. Always get checked to make sure
Did you gave anesthesia or without and had you feel any pain without anesthesia

Hoping all goes well today. Thanks for being in awareness and being so brave. Blessings to you and your family 💕
I hope everything went well for your son. I have the same symptoms that your son had and I now need to get a colonoscopy done too and I am terrified 😢
Blood in stools is not always a sign of cancerous polyp.. It may be a bacterial infection..But, yes blood in stools prolongs for over 5-6 days then it is a matter of concern...
