Mustang gang 5.0 honestly same but i like their headlights itself and their interior best. IMO the perfect mustang build would be 2012 front with 2015 headlights(they actually have this) , 2013-14 tail lights , with 2018 interior. But 2013-14 body style.
Dae Bruh I own a sn95. The “new edge” used to be my favorite until the 13-14. When I get my money up my plan is to find a hardtop 2014 hardtop GT and do a targa top conversion
My 2011 GT Premium has the "peanut butter" leather seats. They are beautiful. Honestly, one of the main reasons I bought the car. I am jealous of the headrest. The ratchet feature is nice as my 2011 does not ratchet.
Thank you so much for this video; you answered all the questions I have been grappling over. My first car was a 1970 fastback Mustang (302) that looked like the Mach 1. I also owner a 1996 LX hatchback. In 2002 I owned the GT Mustang with the 4.6 litter. (not a big fan). I love the new body style of the newer Mustangs; they remind me of my first car. Now that I am in the market for another Mustang; the 11-12's will be the perfect build for me.
Love my '13! I have a JLT CAI and a BOSS 302 with a SCT-X4 Tune.Made 436RWHP. Now have KOOKS LTs ,KOOKS OR-X and '13 GT500 Quad tips. Want to get dyno #'s as this time it gained only 4whp. Of course it was about 100 degrees on a June day.
So in your opinion do I have a good car. Bought it new. It's a 2014 black, base, Track Pack equipped, MT-82, BREMBO, and RECARO seats. I wanted a simple straight to the point car and was lucky enough to find the only one optioned like it in my state.
Excellent video. I didn't know the differences between the first two years of the S-197 Mustangs and the last two years. I think I like the '13-'14s better. Subscribed.
Found a '14 GT in Grabber Blue with MT-82, Brembo Brake Package, 3.73, and factory muffler delete with 42k miles. It's now sitting in my garage. Love it.
I got a 2013 gt for 19,500, what I liked about it was she was bone stock, mileage was a bit on the high side 76,200, but after some research it was in the right price range and definitely within my budget. I'm enjoying every ride I take, I look forward to learning the house now ever since driving this amazing machine, now I'm ready to make it my own and start throwing performance parts at it, oh and btw I'd figured I'd mention it was a manual, which makes it even more fun to drive.
Alejandro I appreciate ur knowledge it helps because I currently have 05' GT wit an auto and I want a 5.0. I found 2011-12 mustang base 5.0 go for 17-19k with 40-50k miles so I can vouch for u one the price but the 2011-12 PREMIUM costs a little extra BTW can't wait to get a coyote! Awesome channel 👌🏾
I bought my 2013 GT MT-82 base with no options a year ago with 17k miles for $24,500. That was a good price for my area. Wish they would have been in the high teens in my area.
Great info. I am currently looking at a 12 Roush stage 1. I didn't know about the difference in the interior option on the 13-14. I like that kinda bling stuff. I also agree the tails on the 13-14 are way nicer. Again thanks for the info. Now I think I want to hold out a bit and find me a Roush in the 13-14 stage 1 or 2. Can't throw the coinage out for a stage 3 lol
I bought a 2014 Mustang GT 6 speed with 3100 miles never in rain or snow, never raced or spin tires, already had CAI, & tune, JLT oil separator, American muscle bullet wheels, custom painted coil covers to match car, custom gear shift knob to match paint and stripes, Pypes pipe bomb mufflers, original stock tires all look new. 1 tiny chip in paint on hood, also shock strut brace and red caliper covers. Very high gloss paint from waxing. Deep Impact Blue. Thanks for your advise and info.
I got an 07 gt cs and i love it. Its got the ford racing handling kit novi 2200 intercooled borla touring mufflers thing is mint handles good and is fast. And it looks and sounds mean as hell. Not a bad car.
The only time I've seen a mid teen 5.0 is if it's got 120k+ miles or its from a more shady dealer. Nothing wrong with buying from a smaller dealer but if you do, just make sure everything looks right and take the car to get inspected. If you want a good conditioned one be ready to spend $19-24k that seems to be the price range for me in south Texas at the moment.
I too have a 2011 Mustang GT premium that came with the optional brembo pack and 3.73 gears. With the right mods, wheels and suspension drop my car now looks better than a stock 13 imo. Do I think the 13-14s are better, absolutely. Just enough for me to want to trade my 2013 since I can update pretty much everything in my car to look like the 13s with the exception of the cool track apps which I probably might adapt as well I just haven't really look into. My absolute favorite 5.0 short of a Boss 302 has to be the 13-14 track pack with Recaro seats. A set of nice stanced wheels, meaty tires, lowered suspension, long tube headers, cobra jet manifold intake, a proper tune and GT500 quad exhaust and Spoiler.
They peanut butter seats didn't come in the 11 12. Only 13 14 had that option. Idk if you are just fibbing or what but that ain't cool to lie behind a keyboard. You ain't making your self look cool in anyway. Post some videos
I had a 12 GT/CS two things I noticed about your comments. The headrests do tilt, and in fact my wife has a 2010 GT, and it's headrest tilts exactly like you showed the 13-14's. The 2nd thing is the headlights. HID's were optional on the 11 and 12's. I have seen quite a few like that. With the HID's they don't look a whole lot different than the 13 and 14's. I traded in my 12 GT/CS for 17k on a 2015. They sell for way more in the Seattle area as well.
I actually like the front end on the 2011-2012 better. That's actually the reason I didn't even consider the 2013-2014s; I really don't like what they did with the frontend how it comes up over the grill. I prefer the black sideskirts, too. I think body color looks too blah. I do want to swap out my taillights, dash, and steering wheel buttons though. Really hate these cheap painted buttons.
James Dinkel yeah and I remember all the hate the 13-14's got from the Shelby guys because the front looks too much like the Shelby front end😖 and yeah I agree I like the 11-12's better, like my 2012 gt premium 6spd with the brembo pkg! They just look meaner in the front or at least that's what's I've been told😉👍🏻
You can find the 11-12 models in the teens but they are usually beat to shit (cars in Miami and ft Lauderdale typically fall in that category). If you're just looking for something to mod, that will be fine. If you are looking for something that was taken care of, stock and has lower mileage, you're looking at 19-22k.
The 2011-12 headrest do rachet. Or at least my 2012 does. Not sure if that is because it is premium but I am pretty sure that is not a feature just for premium that year.

Prices are much higher than being quoted in this video as far as I’ve seen. Unless you buy a clapped out high mileage car-which I don’t recommend. I see clean 11-12s for around 18-21, and 13-14s for 19-24. The brembo/track pack cars fetching the higher end. Which is one reason to consider a 3V car if your on a budget. They make less hp yes, but are moddable (see Brenspeed vids) and can be had around 10 grand for a nice clean example. The styling you see on these cars was actually introduced in 2010. Also the last year of the 3V. So if you like the more aggressive style of the later S197s, you can get one of those for around 11-14k. Of course if your not on a tight budget, get the 5.0. Just trying to be realistic.
Wrong. You need to move. All coyotes in southern states are cheap. 3vs get best by Honda Accord and Nissan Maxima...modded they are barely 11 second cars. Waste of time to buy a 3v.
Alejandro Flores True, I live in the Northeast, but I do nationwide searches. The only 5.0s I see in the price range you’re referring to are high mileage cars, automatics, or cars that look like they’ve been run ragged. C”mon. A good running 3V with a decent driver doesn’t have to worry about Accords. 2010 GTs for example run to 60 in 4.9, and mid 13s in the quarter. That’s not slow for a street car. Neither is 11s modded. People aren’t typically buying these cars to run 10s at the local track, they just want a quick car for the street. And a 3V is still a reasonable option for that. But again, if you got the extra cash for a 5.0, then that’s the best way to go.
@@salesposito2290 3vs are garbage man. Sorry. Been doing this too long to ever recommend a 3v to anyone. Houston...Florida... Louisiana...have tons of mustangs. Friend just picked up a lava coyote 100k miles for 6800 bucks. So they are out there. And it wasn't clapped either.
Alejandro Flores Garbage? That’s your opinion not a fact. There’s always going to be a faster/better version of an engine than what came before-that’s just progress. That doesn’t mean what came before is garbage. And sorry, I wouldn’t touch a 5.0 for 6800 bucks unless you got a big wallet for what’s to come.
@@salesposito2290 it's a fact. Cobra isn't garbage 2v is gay but not as shitty as a 3v 3v is a toilet bowl. No redeeming qualities. 96-98 cobras and 03-04 mach1 were ok.. 3v will go down in history as the biggest pieces of shit ever. The 6800 dollar coyote had great compression just needed a detail. Coyote bargains are out there. Not on autotrading or eBay.
I dont like the classic red seats, but my 13 has brick red with kashmir stripes, custom ordered car, black with the pony shining out of the side mirrors onto the ground. Paid 27k canadian for it when it had 5000 miles on it. Now sits at 13000.
S197 front ends attract rocks and chips like a magnet. Just the shape of it. If the car was mostly driven on the freeway, that paint quality isn’t much worse than what you’d expect
108k miles for a 2011 mustang gt which at the time of this video was only 6 years old. That is a lot of miles within 6 years. Especially more so when I looked for a used mustang from 99-04 the avg miles was 100-130k. Anything lower than 100k was considered a plus and the car worth more. The fact he has 108k miles on a 2011 car where on avg he has just about as many miles as older cars avg in the market tells me he uses the shit out of this mustang
Just a FYI, which isn't a deal breaker unless you travel like I do, our 2012 had the ratchet headrest which you said they didn't. I travel a lot and this was a big saver on my neck with my spine injury. But for almost everyone else, this isn't important anyways. Just a FYI.
awesome vid man, im into buying a 2013 or a sh elby 2009, both are at price range, you should probably make a video about that hahhaha, love 2013 stang
Just subscribed to your channel. Thank you for this awesome video. I used to own a '14 coyote and sadly had to part ways with it for something a little more practical. I was looking to get back into another one though. You briefly mentioned the 2-valves early on in this video and just wanted to get your opinion on those. I was looking at possibly getting a new edge (99-04) and doing a few bolt-ons such as intake, exhaust, and some suspension parts. Any info is much appreciated and thanks again.
Paid $28k for mine 2 years ago with 9k miles, single owner, with the FR handling pack, a CAI and Flowmasters. All the original parts came with the car, you get what you pay for. Forgot to mention car has never seen rain and is showroom clean.
Plan on buying a 2011 5.0 53,*** miles and doing long tubes,X Pipe, borla axle back, boss 302 intake, stage 2 cams and 46lb injectors does this sound like an okay set up
Ha I got my 2013 gt track pack with recaros and brembos for 24k in 2014 with 7k miles was a gem. Have never needed to do anything to it besides change the oil and had to get new tires for reasons lol. Did some mods like cai and tune and still runs smooth as fuck
I have a 2012 GT Deluxe convertible Mustang and it has the ratcheting headrests in it. While you like the camel brown leather seats, I much prefer the red and black custom upgrade in the 2012 Mustangs. I might be biased since I bought this car as a replacement for my 1967 Mustang convertible with a red on red exterior and interior. Unfortunately, I had to settle for a custom deluxe black interior with a ivory trim because the red and black are difficult to find. A number of appearance features also do not resemble those in your car like the visors or some of the other trim, but look like those on the 2013. As for some of the other appearance items, I like the 2011 and 2012 for the fact that they closest resemble the 1967/1968 Mustangs which I consider the first true Mustang manufacture years, the earlier ones being modified Falcons. 2011/2012 also resemble the closest modern version of my 1967 year and look. I do hope to take some of your modding suggestions and apply it to my Mustang. I do not want to get involved in engine builds and serious upgrades, like I have in my younger days, but some worthwhile ones and price value ones would be a nice addition. What is your opinion of long headers or aftermarket exhaust systems? Would a larger fuel manifold be worth the fuel use tradeoff?
I like my 2011 GT not that the 13 or 14 are bad, I just prefer the 2011 first gen Coyote with the tan leather interior. I have three first gen model vehicles, guess I just gravitate to them.
I like the placement of the headlights better on the 2014 better (being on the inner vs the outer) but the 2012 has a much better hood. You did not display the entire hood when you compared (I am only halfway thru the video though) but the 2014 does not have as many alternating angles like the 2012.
Bought a new 2014 because sticker was 38k and I got it for 33k because everyone was stoked for the 2015 at the time. track pack premium with hopes on boosting soon. Barely at 38k miles so far, almost out of warranty, then major modding!
honestly 13/14 to me is a proper mustang. It looks like a proper bulky muscle car. 15 is nice but i feel like they went with modern sleek look. Kinda like back in 1999/2001. not bad but 13/14 is where its at. And those taillights!! GODAMMNN
Great review ,was stuck between the two, i'm mainly buying this car as a daily driver because its a dream car for me , but i have mainly 2 questions. how much fuel/week will this cost on a daily driving to ( work home mall ...) and will this car drive well with the winter tires on snow.i know its a RWD and i have a genesis that i have to turn off ESP to be able to get out and drive in the snow lol or the system will think its not safe.., anyone with any experience with that car who can give me a feedback would be appreciated.
You forgot to mention the biggest difference, the huge under bite of the lower fascia on the 2011-2012. I had a 2011 GT premium and I hated it! I wanted the boss 302 lower fascia and chin splitter, got rid of that nasty under bite. I now have a 2017 and they got it all right this time :)
I'd recommend saving and getting a '16 and up. I have a 2012 GT and I'm disappointed with it. The 2005-2014 all chip paint on the hood. It's aluminum and were not prepped well by Ford before painting. The stock clutch line is crap. You will need to get a braided one. The semi-remote shifter assembly sucks. You will rake gears and get 3rd gear high RPM lock outs. I had to get a Blowfish Racing Street Bracket to somewhat correct it. And the AdvanceTrac system sucks in the 2011 to early 2012's model. You will get the Service AdvanceTrac light and the system will glitch cutting throttle and applying brakes unexpectedly causing the potential for a serious car accident. The warranty will only cover it until you reach 36k miles then the fix can be from $200 to $2000 to fix depending on what part of the system failed. Sync also sucks. Many people have issues with it as well as Bluetooth connectivity.
I used to like the 13-14 nose more but now I’m not as sure... 13-14 taillight are the best ever. I like the 12 cluster more but those 2013 cluster features are cool.
Alejandro Flores it was no disrespect towards anything you said. The comment was left in good faith 🤙 just trying to get more insight on the different 5.0's
Hey man, i got an '11 5.0. Im starting to work on it and i was wondering if you know what are the power limits of the 11-12 engine. Really wanna put a blower on it but im not sure how much it can take before i need to build the bottom end. And if i do build it, is it pistons and rods? Or crank needs to be replaced as well?. Any info is well appreciated. Love the channel btw, "SUBSCRIBED" 💪💪
Hey yolo, in your old vids you were anti cold air; suggesting we stick with our stock boxes. Just out of curiosity, what has made you change your thought process? Thanks in advance!
Crazy to think these were the prices a few years ago and now a low mile 13-14 is going for almost 30k😭
My 2013 GT was 31k for 16k miles.
@@rickitysplitz7035 yup, im looking at a 14 with 5,500 miles for 30k

@@dondeezy. why didn’t you just get a gen 2 or gen 3?

2013 best model hands down. looks great and performs awesome.
One minor correction - 2012 did come with the ratcheting headrests.
NWquadriders you really took time out of your day for that. lmao
NWquadriders yep and don't forget adjustable electric power steering and vanity mirror lights in the visors all new for 2012😉
0:35, I agree that you either go 2v or 4v. The 99-04 new edge specs may not seem impressive, but they are inexpensive, easy to modify and super light!
'11-'14's still have a high resale value in California. Wish they were cheaper here
Daniel Lee I know. When he was saying the prices I was like well you can't find those prices around California.
same for ny, just was checking and the cheapest I found was 16k which had 90k miles and base everything.
I bought my 14 gt 5.0 for 26k with only 24k miles last November
Michael Brown I bought mine last December with 19k miles and a Paxton blower, full exhaust, and lots of appearance mods for 26500...
Getting a 2012 gt for $19k with 37k ml
Both are awesome but something about the looks of the 11-12's attract me more..
Carfeens 18 yup said the same thing, more raw look
Same here. I love the front end of the 11-12s. That with the altezza/euro tails AM sells is perfect
Carfeens 18 I agree
Love the front but don't like the tail lights or the black bumper/diffuser
13-14 look way better wat u mean ?
the 2 dirtiest mustangs I've ever seen I just had to wash my hands
My 2012 GT Premium has the "Penut Butter" saddle interior! I wasn't crazy about it at first but it grew on me...
This is the best comparison on RUclips of 2011 to 2014 5.0s

My 3V has red leather interior, and it is the most complimented aspect of the car
U aren't buying 11-12 for low teens anywhere around here anyway. Pls do tell me where that's at? 19-22 for 11/12 and 23/25 for 13/14 Chicagoland area.
Rodney T texas...florida...Georgia.
Alejandro Flores, helping a buddy shop for his first coyote. For a price like that I'm sure he'd travel. Got a good zip code to search down there?
Rodney T Miami area, ft lauderdale, Tampa, orlando. Houston,

77429 ish. lol
You can find the 11-12 models in the teens but they are usually beat to shit (cars in Miami and ft Lauderdale typically fall in that category). If you're just looking for something to mod, that will be fine. If you are looking for something that was taken care of, stock and has lower mileage, you're looking at 19-22k.
im getting one for 12k
the 11-12 does have ratcheting headrests. my mother has a 2012.
My 2012 cost me $29,000 new no regrets & currently 51,000 miles....love this car
I am from the future and the resale prices he references are exactly right!
love my 13 GT with the touchscreen and nav.
Solid vid. Thanks for the reviews
The 2011-12 headrest do rachet. Or at least my 2012 does. Not sure if that is because it is premium but I am pretty sure that is not a feature just for premium that year.

You should use Wipe New on your faded gray bumper. I used it on my black 12gt and its a huge difference
Cobra isn't garbage
2v is gay but not as shitty as a 3v
3v is a toilet bowl. No redeeming qualities.
96-98 cobras and 03-04 mach1 were ok..
3v will go down in history as the biggest pieces of shit ever.
The 6800 dollar coyote had great compression just needed a detail. Coyote bargains are out there. Not on autotrading or eBay.
13-14 are the classic of the future, is like retro style modifications, everything that you will add on the 05-09 mustangs
I dont like the classic red seats, but my 13 has brick red with kashmir stripes, custom ordered car, black with the pony shining out of the side mirrors onto the ground. Paid 27k canadian for it when it had 5000 miles on it. Now sits at 13000.
108k is not a lot of miles. There's no reason for that car to be worn out as badly as it is if you actually take care of it.
nickthatch12 108k miles for a 2011-14 is a lot of miles.. there still 2004 cars that have about the same. my 04 has 102k miles
@@jeremysandoval3507 hell, I would
My 2000 Newedge has 217k and is in better shape than his 2011
thanks for the video!!! just the info I needed!!
Just a FYI, which isn't a deal breaker unless you travel like I do, our 2012 had the ratchet headrest which you said they didn't. I travel a lot and this was a big saver on my neck with my spine injury. But for almost everyone else, this isn't important anyways. Just a FYI.
thanks for a great informative video!
Heads up, my 2011 V6 has this same interior color. So they did have that option back in 2011.
awesome vid man, im into buying a 2013 or a sh elby 2009, both are at price range, you should probably make a video about that hahhaha, love 2013 stang
My 2012 has the peanut butter seats they look great
literally was googling this all day lol awesome
Now which one is more reliable?
11-12 year gt are still going for 16k plus out in socal unless you’re looking on craigslist
a few things I noticed in the video- I drive a 2012 base model and I have several of the display tracking options and ratcheting headrests
Plan on buying a 2011 5.0 53,*** miles and doing long tubes,X Pipe, borla axle back, boss 302 intake, stage 2 cams and 46lb injectors does this sound like an okay set up
I'm 100% surprised he didnt mention anything about mt82 issues or oil pump gears in the 11-12's at all
Ha I got my 2013 gt track pack with recaros and brembos for 24k in 2014 with 7k miles was a gem. Have never needed to do anything to it besides change the oil and had to get new tires for reasons lol. Did some mods like cai and tune and still runs smooth as fuck
love the 14, looks nicer
as for all the track crap and mileage
stuff you will hardly use it
my 12 is fine but love the 14
but not complaining
Loved my Steeda on my 2012
I have a 2012 GT Deluxe convertible Mustang and it has the ratcheting headrests in it.
I chose a late 14 GT premium due to the ability to place the Boss double keys!
Barely at 38k miles so far, almost out of warranty, then major modding!
thanks for the info! looking to go to the dark side and trade my si civic for a 13 14 mustang in about a year.
honestly 13/14 to me is a proper mustang. It looks like a proper bulky muscle car. 15 is nice but i feel like they went with modern sleek look. Kinda like back in 1999/2001. not bad but 13/14 is where its at. And those taillights!! GODAMMNN
I heard that 11 - 12 are faster than 13-14 if both are stock people say because their lighter is this true ?
Great review ,was stuck between the two, i'm mainly buying this car as a daily driver because its a dream car for me , but i have mainly 2 questions. how much fuel/week will this cost on a daily driving to ( work home mall ...) and will this car drive well with the winter tires on snow.i know its a RWD and i have a genesis that i have to turn off ESP to be able to get out and drive in the snow lol or the system will think its not safe.., anyone with any experience with that car who can give me a feedback would be appreciated.
How we reliable are these car as a daily driver? On the 13-14 of course. These are my favorites Stang. The new ones are too big and heavy.
Quang Lam that’s what I wanna find out I just got a 14 v6 for my first car
Have you heard anything about Ford Racing offering the Voodoo engine from the GT 350 as a crate motor?
curious to hear your take on the 12-13 boss 302
Aurelio Torres wow really I've had really good luck with my 2012 gt then with some mods and a tune!! I love my stang ,No problems here👍🏻
I used to like the 13-14 nose more but now I’m not as sure... 13-14 taillight are the best ever. I like the 12 cluster more but those 2013 cluster features are cool.
He was talking about the saddle creek interior and ratcheting head rests, but... but... my 2012 has both
Anthony Kampras oh shit...i should shut down my channel cause I don't know shiitttttr
When it comes to power which hold power better? 11/12 or 13/14? I know dealers were putting the 13/14 Engines in 11/12 cars after they had issues.
Hey yolo, in your old vids you were anti cold air; suggesting we stick with our stock boxes. Just out of curiosity, what has made you change your thought process?
Thanks in advance!
Austin Hennessee pmas flows crazy air
This is the model I want to replace my 05 since my 05 was totaled.
I'm looking to buy one if there next year when I get the money, any mechanical issues to look for?
