15 minutes of video games is a myth
Thats one tdm match so yea u can play for 15 mins and go back to working
You have to focus to have any fun in a game session really. And that takes around 15-30 minutes for you to get deep into the game, and only then you will have the fun that the game is supposed to give. Indeed it is a myth
lel
I agree. I can't just play a game for only 15 mins once I start playing; and I'm probably not even 10% as passionate about games as an average gamer.
But you can, not play for 5 days and play 3 hours one day. That's what I do. I was playiong 1 hour for 3 days, but those 1 hour sessions became 1.5/2 I condensed them to one day of the week and bam! much better
"You re useless and horrible"
got me so good
Which is sadly what people get wrong, too. They think it's his opinion, when he's speaking for the ones that have these thoughts.
😂😂😂🤣 he’s just honest 🙏🏼💪🏼
it's like he knows me my entire life
Caught me off guard😂😂
Okay i fired myself and Jordan you are hired start tomorrow
😂😂😂

so how did it go? A year later how's life
how did it go? interesting
what’s amazing about this guy is how you can tell he has his roots in a working class north canadian town embedded in him. what lecturer can seriously say “whatever turns your crank man” in a lecture without looking like a young-wannabe
I studied maths. Aparently my time is Worth about 15 Box an hour experience Shows
But he did look like a young wannabe so point not taken lol
winteriscumming1, well, u got it wrong.
Litterally just heard that as I read it
True story man
What I took away from this video:
1. Have a goal/vision for your life
2. Do things that get you closer to that vision consistently (microroutines)
3. Therefore use a schedule
4. Use the schedule in a way that you follow it (appropriate relation of responsibility and freetime)
5. Sorround yourself with people that are competent and maintain these relationships
6. Sorround yourself with people you can tell bad aswell as good news
Thank you so much
O M G !
That's such a good idea to bring good results
Making notes!
How i couldn't notice this fact when i know importance of notes being a student!🤦♀️
Fine! I got it today!
Good friend:
Able to listen to bad news
Able to celebrate good news
But Jordon I "waste" 6 hours a day watching your videos
You do if you're not taking these things into action 😥
Gastón Mera like the vast majority of the people watching his videos
You could call it “education” 😌
Well, bloody adopt some responsibility!
It's never a waste of time if you put into practice what he says
"That's a stupid day." Hurt myself laughing. XD
Pyagrl*16 he’s right tho that’s the hard-hitting thing
Same 🤣 the way he says it 😆
😄😄 shot myself laughing 😄😄😄

Whatever tuuurns your crank maaan!!
- Goal justifies your life - decide what you want
- Schedule and Stick to it - Make the day you want -> day ends with you being better than you were
- Negotiate with yourself
- You are an employee and a boss
"you can tell them bad news and they'll listen to you. you can tell them good news and they'll help you celebrate."
How you can tell if someone is your friend -
1. You can tell them bad news.
- They will actually listen.
- They will not ridicule you.
- They will not make case out for them about how something worse happened to them.
- Derail the conversation
2. You can tell them goodnews.
- They will help you celebrate.
- They will not take it away from you.
- They will not make case about them and tell you about something better happened to them.
- Or worse, something better happened to someone they know.
It seems as though he has all the answers. He's like nectar.

This one person has come along and articulated the whole of my existence, struggle, and ultimately helped me clarify the structure of my critical thinking.

It's a Canadian thing . Emphatic point being made
For emphasis I think

He's called one of the most influential intellectual person of the western countries of our time not without a reason.
“You want to fire yourself and hire someone else to be”
Whatever turns your crank, man. Love it. Pretty much turning my life around because of this fella. I don't blindly agree with everything but I am glad he has the conviction to speak out to people who are feeling lost.
If all we watched in high school was this stuff - the world would be such a better place.
The last tidbit about sharing news is real as hell, most important bit in the video in my opinion.
'Negotiate with yourself, don't tyrannize yourself'
I tyrannized myself for far too long when making schedules.
But why, just make a plan you actually want to follow and progressively get more of the tasks done, you have the ability to do everything you set your mind to, I believe in you :)
I don't live and die by every word of Peterson anymore but I gotta say I love him as a person
Wow, he's in top form in this one!!!
One of the best JBP vids I've ever seen. Really helpful and informative.
This guy deserves an award.
But the LEFT says he hates trans people and women! LMAO hahaha. People are such sheep online, they never do their own research
Also this is of great use, but you need to listen to him several times so every word gets truly understood.
Dude nice to hear your talk, I've been through a Mentor program as recovery from a tarable accident. All I can say is happy holidays and thank you
This video alone has brought so much productivity in my life its unbelievable
He’s a genius
As I sit here with assignments up the ass, midterms to study for, I choose not to tyranize myself and instead negotiate. I won't waste my time but I won't be the villain of my own goals and work load.
That’s how you slay the dragon, roughly speaking. I think that’s the bloody thing people miss.
@@claytonatkinson865 whatever turns your crank man! I think you've become damn contentious and adopted some responsibility
What Peterson’s lectures are is “Common Sense, but not Common Practice” as Les Brown put it in his speech “ Armed and Dangerous”
my mind get so much stimule from this video that at some point into it i catch my self thinking about my life in a deeper level so i have to go almost to the bigining and start over.

Jordan *roughly speaking* Peterson
Alexandra "likes Joe Rogan jokes" T
Oh this cracks me up! He is so funny. And I am so motivated and able to see a positive way to move forward.
A true thinker. Nice to hear someone who really thinks about life, and not only that, he is moving and acting on what he has learned and is learning. I would enjoy it more if there was no profanity at all.
Jordan has such an interesting way of engaging people. He has a way of revealing his thought patterns through a narrative while doing all the hard thinking as he talks, giving the listener a new-found perspective. His expletives really are that knee-jerk remark that 'straightens you up' a little bit, I don't mind as they're not that filthy but your points valid.
This is my favorite clip of him. Felt like he was speaking att me...very personal
This is why I use Samsung Notes on my phone, I have made remarkable changes in my life since I started to write what I want to accomplish and what I need to remember. Discipline and responsibility is a pathway to success.

if anyone finds themselves needing to watch Jordan's videos over and over, i recommend just turning down the speed of the video to 75% speed in the setting on the video. helps (ADHD)
I tried, helpful! other than that he sounds like he is half-cut
Love him
Thanks
I'm happy to live in the same era as jordan peterson

whatever turns your crank man -Jordan Peterson
I love the part about how to tell if someone is your friend. I realized I needed to get rid of old "friends" when my father died and exactly 0 of them thought it appropriate to never contact me with a "how are you" even year(s) later. I have never done that to anyone. If anyone has tips on how to build a social network, please let me know.
H I - I hear you. It’s really hard to find decent people and real friends these days... That’s been my experience anyway...
I have the same problem. Look into RSD on youtube
Sometimes it just starts with one person that you meet (in person usually). My first Facebook friend was a stranger who convinced me to try Facebook; especially as a way to connect with family out of state. Or even all a family member, or look up an old school friend/associate and request to be their friend.
Try building relationships with people of a common interest. Get to some group of people doing things you are also interested in, and hit a conversation with them about those things. Speak with a lot of people you can get. Some will stay some will leave but then, you can ask them to show you how they do it best. They will show you and like you for that you ask for their expertise.
Ask people how they choose or find themselves in those things of interest. Ask them what they like what they like, what feeling they get from it. Look at other people as to understand who they are and they will get interested in you. If they don't then they are egoists, narcissists and leave them be. But the most important thing is to be around people, to be open and when speaking, put your focus on them, to understand them and speak about yourself only when they ask you.
This help me make great connections with amazing people.
Make yourself useful, help others and keep them close if you see your interest matching. Above all, keep working on your self and dont be afraid of talking about your interests and standing up to help someone you can.

Dalton Feasel watch the whole thing from the description
"Plan a life you WANT to have"
Mister Peterson, to tell the truth after a middle of video I don't catch you, but it is interesting idea about routine that makes you feel good
Even a well articulated moment, can only give rise to the perception of it's meaning.
It's profundity lies settled in the abyss.
Explain this with normal words please.
The advice given in this video - in relation to social hierarchies - is no joke, roughly speaking.
Am I the only one who is reminded of Capaldis version of the doctor? Not so much the voice...its the mannerisms and the way he thinks.
all slim old dudes are Capaldi :P
Go_Away : you are so point on... Each time I see him I am reminded of Capaldi!!
"You should fire yourself and find someone else to be"
I think I should mention that he's Canadian, so when he talks about what your time's worth its in Canadian dollars so roughly speaking, if you're from the United States take the square root of that figure, and if you're from Mexico then square it... and if you're from the European Union...well then cry.
No point it crying. Push yourself a bit, then a bit more and get better. Seriously, it`s as simple as that
hm...TIL i'm a bad friend.
honestly, i don't know what to do when someone has a problem, i don't know much about what to do when i have a problem, i grew up online where people don't wanna hear your problems, so when someone has a problem beyond trying to help solve it i don't know what to do. i don't know comforting words beyond "that sucks" and "sorry" i don't know how to make someone feel better. i don't know how to make myself feel better.
don't think i have trouble celebrating good things, can go out to eat somewhere expensive (if i can afford it), or throw a party if i can't, of course the words of congratulations. i tend to be mindful of my friends' problems and my gifts are always well received as they tend to come from a particular understanding of that person and the things they like and dislike, but when a friend has a problem it makes me sad and i have no idea what to do, like i'm looking at an engine that has stopped working. i'm completely clueless.
Well, at least I’m not the only one like that.
You have a gift of understanding, maybe your problem to actually hearing someones problem without taking it too much into a personal level comes from some relative around you who makes all the people that hear about his/her problem really suffer because of it, instead of trying to work around a solution.
You don't need to be the one who give the solutions on the spot, but you can certainly be the one who could walk the path to find that solution, if you really are interested on helping. I don't really think you are a bad friend, you're just a friend with some problems to attend first, so you can be able to help others.
I'm talking from experience on this, DON'T try to make your self grow by trying to help people through telling them what to do, instead, be the one who is around and active about getting a solution to said problem. Be a spot of energy and hope, and be atentive from those around you who just want to talk about their problems but not seek the solution, you are probably too empathetic to actually live in peace through that, it will drain too much energy from you. Let people you care for know that once the problem is there, you must look for the way to solve it. To let people come to you just to talk about their problems but no intention of working to solve it is bad for you. Hope you do well.
Why this is not in schools all around the world!?!?! Or is it that I didn't pay attention when they spoke about this?
why does he seem to have a youtube video for all of my life's personal/mental problems and questions? lucky me XD
Consistency is enemy of enterprise...just like symmetry is to art
I don't like to have friends or even a girl . I don't know why I feel that way . Have money , freedom and time to upgrade myself . Supporting my family that's what makes me feel motivated and well .
Its the best day ever 🎶🍍🧀
Better title will be Jordan Peterson on prediction of performance and conscientiousness & social network
The sheer amout of food for thought in just an 11 minute video...
JP talks a lot about schedules and we should make one we WANT, yet I make goals like read and write because I'd like to be more articulate yet get stressed and distracted very easily which I'd rather not spend my day experiencing.
What do I do?
Common sense never sounded so profound :-)

"Bad employee an the worst boss so you wannna find someone new."
"Cuz that's stupid day!"
I do not get the last 1 minute what he meaned really anyone can explain?
What class is he teaching?
As good as this video is, I was very distracted with the question of why there is a foil projector in a college classroom in 2017. Are those still used at colleges today?
This is Genius! Wish he would hold back the cursing so my kids could listen to it!
micahakasuperman7 your kids have never heard bad words? They likely hear more bad words at school or on TV in a day than in this lecture.
cmon man your kids are out there and hear all sorts of people saying dumb shit using curse words. At least this is smart with minor curse words.
If Dr Peterson's language is too strong for your kids, then maybe they should wait until they're a bit older to watch his videos. They might be hard to understand for kids.
