My younger brother who has downs syndrome who can't read has played this game to completion like 5 times. He loves it. I'm so grateful to whoever's idea it was to dub this in english.

Yakuza 3,4 and 5 are also getting a HD port to ps4. That's 7 Yakuza games all with one main character who you're with for hundreds of hours watching him go from a rookie gangster to a literal legend of Japan Yakuza.

Just finished the game with 28.9% Completion Rate and damn, what a ride! Amazing story, action and full of content with maybe a little bit repetitive gameplay still deserves a solid 9/10 or 4.5/5 stars.
I'm happy they used Takuya Kimura as the main character as he also played a prosecutor in a very popular Japanese TV drama "Hero". Great TV series. I will just think of this game as a extension of that character in the TV series

Absolutely love this game. Incredible story, game play and battle mechanics are fantastic and more evolved than Yakuza 6. Only gripe is the tailing missions and lack of "failure" in investigation. But this, like the Yakuza games rely on the amazing story to be supported by the gameplay so I guess that makes sense. 9/10 easy.

It's filled with great animations and art, and constantly evolving, it isn't repetitive in the least. I wouldn't necessarily say Judgment story is better than Y0 for example, but for me it was top tier at least in the Yakuza franchise.

This goes for every form of entertainment (Movies, series, anime, cartoons, whatever) Its just that most english speakers have crappy reading skills and use "i can't focus on the subs and the action at the same time" as an excuse.
Tbh yagami speaks a little bit better and matches his voice to his personality in English while In Japanese he sounds a bit too manly for his characteristics
This game looks perfect for me. I loved sleeping dogs, and played some yakuza games (although it was ages ago and don’t remember it entirely) this looks better, with a linear story (I am a simple man who likes linear games and is a fan of naughty dog games) plus the combat looks exciting. I recommend for myself and others we should wait till a sale then buy this. 👍

I'd say start with Yakuza 0, because that's the one that made me get into the Yakuza series. Finished Kiwami 1 within two weeks when it came out and currently finishing Kiwami 2. Gotta say Yakuza 0 is still the best one for me

Chances are that because the voice actor for the main character is an actual recording artist he does not completely own the rights to his own musical creations so the karaoke mini game would have cost a pretty penny to include his voice
And because the Japanese voice actor for Yagami is one of the most popular singers and actors in Japan and is considered an idol with an extremely strict management, getting him to sing would have been pricier than the entire budget of the game.

Chances are that because the voice actor for the main character is an actual recording artist he does not completely own the rights to his own musical creations so the karaoke mini game would have cost a pretty penny to include his voice
I think they didn’t do karaoke in this one because of the dual audio. Imagine the English VA’s trying to sing in Japanese
And because the Japanese voice actor for Yagami is one of the most popular singers and actors in Japan and is considered an idol with an extremely strict management, getting him to sing would have been pricier than the entire budget of the game.

@@intotheverse3363 it's nothing wrong with 8.2. Ign is where the problem is at. When looking for a review either look at metacritic or someone's personal opinion. What ign does is that its employees are bad at games and not knowledgeable enough and that makes the reviews not trust worthy. Listen to someone who knows what they are talking about.

No Karaoke breaks my heart especially with how great the Judgement karaoke song in Yakuza 0 was. What a miss.
The main Character Takaya Kimura didn't want to do any karaoke for the game. That's why there's no karaoke
The voice actor for this guy is too expensive for that.
Takuya Kimura is a former singer of one of the most famous boy bands in Asia and is a Japanese idol, getting him to sing would have been pricier than the entire budget for the game.
