I started playing MH4U on DS these days and im using Charge blade , most satisfying weapon (insect glaive has its charm as well)
IG and CB are busted In 4U, but on IG It Is much better If you unlock that kinsect with the nectar thing that extends Its time twicefold ^_^

CB in mh4u can deal 150 stun damage with 1 ultra burst because all burst explode in small area near edge of axe when use instead multi wave attack like mhw or newer. That is why this weapon is king of stun in this version instead hammer

@@ararira actually yes, they nerf from mhgen, make hit box bigger and slower to release all phial instead nearly same time

My jackass played through the entirety of MH4U with Longsword, only learning it was nerfed to shit after watching someone else play way into G Rank and wonder why he's not taking 25 minutes to kill everything like me

Not syre if you are new to monster hunter, but MH 4U was my *favorite* of the franchise until Iceborn, granted... pre-world it is still my favorite. Even if Generations ultimate is fun as hell due to all the styles.
Loved the video! Was funny, super high energy at first but got a lot of laughs out of me. As a old veteran told me when I was a new huntress.
"You are too greedy, It's okay to play defensive or back off and heal."
In your case, i feel you get too trigger happy to make bad cool badass big booms. But after charging up your shield and sword, its okay to hold of, make sure your target is in a good opening then crush them with the huge charge blade explosions. Being ready to use your shield or playing a little more defensively can save you from many attacks and help teach you openings as well! :D
And in case you haven't found out yet, there is a invulnerability time when you get knock down. Stay lauing down while you can if the monster is still attacking. As long as you aren't trying to get up or your hunter isn't getting up... laying down after getting hit hard makes you.... invincible.
So waiting that moment to get up can save you from a cart. Unless you got like... a good evasion skill to immediately roll as you get up. You can roll to dodge pass roars, as well as block roars like a attack with your shield!
:D I hope you are loving the game, and im not sure if you are new or not, but hopefully these tips help if you are relatively new. Happy hunting!
Currently playing XX (The GenU for the N3DS).
While I like the many variations with the styles, I dislike how each styles limit the weapon from being effective D'x
(and aerial style sucks In general. It's probably better when playing In groups. Only aerial glaive Is acceptable)
And later on harder quests, especially the variant licenced monsters, I am limited to just using brave/valor LS and SNS.
On a personal Side-note: Charge Blade sucks cuz you cannot guard point Into amped charge :'(
@@emishimaru-sama6449 It's interesting to hear other hunter's opinions like this, especially when it comes to how we handle different weapons, styles, or how a certain weapon works differently in different games of the series.
I still prefer calling the name Raizex instead of astalos, or other things. Lol
It's funny to me because I was a entirely solo player until recently, and I used nearly every blade master weapon, mostly hunting horn, hammer, Lance, switch are, great sword and of course insect glaive. Now I'm better at all blade master weapon types. RiP my zenny.
But I always loved both Aerial style, and for insect glaive I preferred using adept.
I recently returned to Gen U with a friend who was introduced in World, liked Rise, so I offered the only other older-- or argued the *last old generation* game of monster hunter. They use exclusively only three weapons, Charge Blade- which they loved with either aerial, or alchemist, Long sword in any style, and sword and shield which they only used aerial.
They might've been influenced by me using aerial so well, and love the same Jump and bonk with a plausible mount option.
Yet, I really think it's these different preferences that make great hunting teams, as we can tackle on threats with different tactics & ways of expertise. As long as we stay respectful of eachother for our differences. Lol
So what is your favorite style/weapon combo to use? Lol, one horror story of different ideas or opinions I've had was in World. I love using Hammer verses Odogaron.
I was teaming up with people in multiple player more often, fighting my anxieties. When... this older teen [from the sound of his voice] was legit _screaming_ at me for using Hammer against Odogaron. The other person in the hunt went quiet giving up trying to tell them to chill. This person argued Hammer was *too slow* and it was impossible to beat Odogaron with it. DEMANDING I change weapons because I'd cart and fail it for the team.
Like, no joke. He was DEAD serious. I was inwardly finding it funny, but telling him it was okay, I've done this many times, it's okay. You can use Hammer against anything just as any weapon can. Nope.
He wasn't having it.
He was obviously new, used duel blades, kept tripping me as he tried for the head every time I knocked odo out. Had to use all my life powders to keep him alive. I hope he's improved since then, as a hunter and a person.
@@PestilentAllosaurus oof, hammer and sword users always suffering from being Interrupted by other bladers with weapons that don't get them toppled down when touched never gets old xD
My latest MH game to play Is XX. Still haven't gotten the chance to play World or Rise (because of irl zenny xd).
Favorite weapon & styles?
Idk If favorites, cuz It's more like the safest way for me to play smoothly for most cases :( those would be the Valor LS and Valor DB (I think on my previous comment I said valor SNS, but It's DB xD). On exceptional Instances (like the golden & silver trash) I would go Adept or Valor light Bowgun; for occasion I used Adept SNS against the variant Redhelm arzuros; Striker GS (against Kirin because Kirin) and so on. Probably tried every other styles, the only one I still regret not using Is Brave Bow, because Idk what set would be either good or perfect for Bow (the same goes for Brave GS and many others, but It's just too much), and the game doesn't help me get good talisman -_-'' So much hate for that one talisman that could have been god tier had that 6 tenderiser 8 expert had 3 slots. Instead, It has nothing D'x
Oh yeah, partly, the talismans, I hate It despite MHXX/GenU has the best talisman farming method (Idk about world or rise). It's hard to get anything good. My only best talisman Is that one I mentioned and a 9 expert with 3 slots and 4 thunder attack. [Convenient with the ahtal ka set to make db set with lagia db, though I like the kezhu one more cuz long purple sharpness and paralysis x) perfect for shattering the crabs shell, especially the goddamn retarded rustrazor cenataur. Stupidly easy, but retardedly hard to get the stupid Important shell part. Same goes for Redhealm's Zenith shit D:

Great video. But i suggest you polish up your skills with cb. I know gaijin hunter has a tutorial for cb that does go over everything the cb has to offer maybe brush up on it or not your choice.

You never really forget your first time unloading an SAED (phials or not) and realizing "wait, this is different...."
Quick tip: Because (unlike World and Rise) performing an SAED dispels your shield charge, you can front a little time savings by waiting until your phials are red before unleashing the SAED, afterwards you can just charge phials and go straight back into red shield mode.
