Why all sandwiches are made upside down ? Every box sandwich is constructed this way …. Silly question just wonder they put correct way just before service ….
It's really nice to see a clean kitchen. I worked at Mcdonlds for 2 years from crew member to shift lead to kitchen manager and they make it easy to do things the right way. and it's so much nicer working in a clean kitchen. The people I worked with taught me how to keep it clean too and I am forever grateful bc it taught me how to clean my home too.
I loved how rythmic everything was like once you learned your way around the kitchen it was almost like you could float around doing the job without thinking. And could listen to music or a podcast etc. We always swapped out who worked where so everyone got alone time in the back and everyone took their fair share of customer time. Everyone respected each other better bc everyone could do al the jobs plus bc everyone could do all the jobs it was super easy to move people around and be flexible with schedules. It was such a nice little place to work and I would have stayed and tried for gm if the salary wasn't so low.
I like how people talk about how satisfying this is meanwhile I come back to these videos once a year because I used to work Chick-fil-A/McDonald's and it was genuinely the most soul crushing thing I've ever done and I need motivation to work hard to not fall into it again. It sounds like I'm bashing you but thanks for the inspiration
I went to school with Stephen up until middle school. He was a really cool dude with a great sense of humor. Glad to see you're doing well! Watching this makes me miss that chaos and teamwork in the kitchen, but I'm not sure if I could go back to that at this point. Crazy that this has a million views. This kind of content is such an interesting insight into the work that people don't see, unless you've been there too. Best of luck to you.
I don't have the time to watch these. I'll look for a few minutes, but that's it. I always watch the whole thing, as if hypnotized. Amazing! Human automation at its finest.
This video reminds of my old food service days when I was younger. Anyone who's experienced these jobs is fully aware how incredibly focused you work in a dinner shift. Its tense work and you have to work under high pressure situations. I met some great co workers along my journey working in restaurants
You make it look easy. But for those who don't work there, it's not. It is such a high paced environment, high stress and just crazy. I mainly do drive through orders as deal with people but I still respect your talent at the "table"
Yeah… I lasted only around two weeks and had to walk out mid shift. I don’t get how some people manage to do it. Seems like you have to be a naturally social person or something. Whatever the trick is I don’t seem to have it.
Not sure how I came across this channel. I've been watching this guy work his butt off for the past month. This guy knows his way around his area and knows how to deliver every time. I appreciate his work ethic and most importantly the opportunity he's giving us to see what it's like working at a fast food restaurant.
There are a few professions which I have the utmost respect for (when done professionally): including teachers, McDonalds staff, coffee baristas and ambulance workers. No nonsense, pure concentration and dedication, we can all learn from this
My job is much harder than this, I'm a chef. Putting buns in a machine and having timers beeping at you all the time would be pretty annoying IMO. We have no timers, no microwaves, almost everything prepped and cooked from fresh. I didn't even see a knife at all in this video

Keep it up brother you’ll go far with perseverance and dedication. Much love and goodnight 🤙🤙❤❤

You know it really annoys me when people belittle folks for working at McDonald’s, like somehow it’s an embarrassment or something. These folks work hard, it’s honest work for a honest living. I have no problem working at McDonald’s if I had to. It’s not lowering my standards, it’s putting my best foot forward in any job I work at, something people these days seem to know nothing about. I assume it’s just kids who are ignorant to the ways of life.
I also don't think it should be belittled for honest work. What I can't stand though is how they think they deserve such high pay as if they're rocket scientists. You are doing a job where pretty much anyone can do, that does not need specialized education.
@@aewtx i partially agree working in the fast food industry, the work itself isnt "hard" but the people that we have to deal with on a day to day basis 100% deserves alot more than minimum wage. theres thousands of jobs that pay 6 figures+ that "anyone can do with no specialized education" why should fast food be any different?
@@aewtx people want to be able to live…that’s all. Even $25 an hour isn’t easy to live off of nowadays..you almost need 2 incomes to live a “comfortable” life..working at McDonald’s should be able to afford someone a 1 bedroom apt and a used car but lets be honest if you have $0 and start working at McDonald’s it would take a year to even consider something like that..

I worked at McDonalds during the beanie baby happy meal era. It was insane all the time everyday almost. Honestly felt probably like this story for weeks or months.
Im gonna be honest. Just started working at McDonalds, so there is that.. One thing I wish they bring back is the international menu options perhaps making it permanent, but the items swap out every month. There is plenty of variety to go around and I think it would be pretty cool to see. Ik McDonalds did it as a limited time event with some international foods (like the Bacon Cheese Fries). I dont think the Hula Burger would be welcomed, though. (For those who dont know, it was introduced as a sales competition, to decide whether the filet o’ fish was added to the menu or not. As far as im aware it is no longer for sale in most states/countries)
Literally just stumbled upon your videos but I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that you try to do everything is neat as possible. I once got a cheeseburger that was stacked like a venn diagram. I understand how busy they get though
Wow, this toaster works great! Used to work for Australia's Burger King (Hungry Jacks) and our buns would get stuck inside ALL the time and get extra crispy and burnt, and had to fish it out with tongs. Also now those sauce squeezers look like they work really well, too.
There’s no way a robot could replace you, you are a BURGER BUILDING MACHINE! I don’t eat fast food, but you guys deserve way more respect than people give to “slingin burgers”. You work hard. There’s no way my hands could handle that kind of repetition all day, much respect!
Ive been in charge of multi-million dollar engineering/construction projects and i can confidently say working in fast food as a teen was one of the hardest jobs i've ever had. Its hot, greasy, constant movement, entitled customers who think they own you because they dropped $4 on a burger. Very demanding job, just not intellectually hard.
I've been working in kitchens for nearly 20yrs. They're all different; they're all the same. Always been nervous starting in a new one, but once you know where everything is and 'The Routine', you get into the swing pretty quickly. Good luck 👍.
i agree with the guy in blue the way you wrap your mcdobles, also the way you use both hands when your making them is a true sign of practice. youve got a groove in how you do everything bc youve done it a million times. or at least 100's and its so clean. god i love this video.
I could never keep track of all that. People would be getting all sorts of crazy stuff in their orders. Customer: There's a fish patty on my double cheeseburger. Me: It's the surf and turf burger. Just go with it.
I’ve worked fast food before (Pizza Hut) and although I will likely NEVER return to it (I will never forget those murderous rushes), watching this is quite therapeutic. It’s what I like to call organized chaos and just seeing things run smoothly like a well oiled machine is relaxing.
ALL this hard work and people still throw a fit about workers demanding a proper wage!! Much respect and appreciation to all fast food workers out there, you work just as hard if not harder than anybody else.
After seeing these vids I now have huge respect for these people working this line back there. It's clean, its running like a machine and these people are BUSY and everything is coming out perfect.
I'm not sure I like the new bun toaster. I liked the bun cabinet. You had someone working buns and maybe meat depending on how busy it was. I guess this keeps them hot and you don't have to microwave like we did then. We still had the bin at the time. This would take some time getting used to vs having a bin. So much walking along the line and cramped prep space it seems. We had bigger prep table and prepped on trays and then someone runnjng the bin doing all the wrapping / boxing.
If you had told me 20 years ago that I would spend 20 minutes watching a POV video of someone working the line at a McDonalds, I would have called you crazy, but here I am finishing watching this video and I was engaged the entire time!
oh man this takes me back. i did overnight in a collage town so as soon as the midnight hit the students came flying in. nice to see the team work between side one and two.
You can really tell how much practice has gone into this with how fluid and deliberate the motions are There really is no such thing as "unskilled labor"
Agreed, back in my day when I still worked at McDonald's the best employees were those who understood how the kitchen was designed and how the workflow went. Stubborn people who just wanted to do their own thing just failed. Sure it's working like a robot some times because you're literally just doing what you're told but I had so much fun working at McDonald's. I wouldn't want to work there anymore because the job doesn't fit my current needs but I would love to go back for a day and just rock it. All new way of working these days though, McDonald's in the Netherlands works the same as how it's shown in these video's, before you'd just make runs of products at the grill which were stashed for a maximum of 10 minutes and you had some sort of supply of Big Macs and Quarterpounders and what not. Current process is more work for the kitchen but better product for the customer.
Unbelievable pace, I wouldnt do that for less than twenty an hour. Impressed with the politeness, must be hard for people to keep their cool under time crunch.. Also.. wish I could get lettuce like that at my local store.. damn that is some gorgeous iceberg lettuce, man, no wonder my store's looks like wilted dark green crap.. all the good stuff is at McD's
im so nervous about starting my new job at maccas it all looks so simple from here, but i already know im gonna stuff up half the orders with my newbie skills. This video teaches me alot of what goes on in the kitchen.

I always use Last. Listen apologize satisfy thank.Something that stuck with me for 15 years lol.
So I have a serious question. I had my first filet o fish sandwich in probably 7-8 years, this past Friday night. Has the size of the fish filet been drastically reduced in that time? When I opened the box, I thought it was a sandwich meant for a child, it was that tiny..
no, they are still the same size. while everyone else in the industry has a much larger fish patty. it makes me wonder why they haven't increased the size. but it is still the same size. the racks that you cook them in still have the same spacing when u cook them so they are not or have not gotten smaller.
@@sethterwilliger9434 by definition the amount of meat stays the same. Reg meat is used in the hamburgers which is a tenth of a pound (10:1), and quarter meat used for the quarters is a quarter of a pound (4:1). It might look different but the weight and therefore amount of meat is the same

Why all sandwiches are made upside down ? Every box sandwich is constructed this way …. Silly question just wonder they put correct way just before service ….
Big Macs are good but boy I'll tell you what they make me blow out the toilet
This gentleman is so organized and fast. And, on top of that, he's so polite, respectful, calm, coo,l and collected! Really cool to see!!😎
It's really nice to see a clean kitchen.
You made it bro congrats
Whatever the trick is I don’t seem to have it.
does it pay the same as the cook?
@@EfficientTrout I believe so, however I am a teen and make about $3 less than adults. And all the adults grill lol.
@@Qu9ke its a tough environment sometimes lol. It goes fast but i like it.
1000%
Dude, the way you wrap the burgers is SO satisfying
Not sure how I came across this channel. I've been watching this guy work his butt off for the past month. This guy knows his way around his area and knows how to deliver every time. I appreciate his work ethic and most importantly the opportunity he's giving us to see what it's like working at a fast food restaurant.
Working for a McDonald's in the UK and watching this, is crazy to me. So many similarities but so many differences. Cool videos! :)
What are the differences?
There are a few professions which I have the utmost respect for (when done professionally): including teachers, McDonalds staff, coffee baristas and ambulance workers. No nonsense, pure concentration and dedication, we can all learn from this
My job is much harder than this, I'm a chef. Putting buns in a machine and having timers beeping at you all the time would be pretty annoying IMO. We have no timers, no microwaves, almost everything prepped and cooked from fresh. I didn't even see a knife at all in this video
@@jewman26 I'm going to school for culinary in a month with plans of being a chef like you and I currently work at McDonald's, it's certainly gonna be an interesting transition lol
Most people have no clue to the work that goes into food service prep!! Thanks for providing this valuable service, much appreciated 😊😊
props to anyone and everyone who does a good job at mcdonalds, you guys are the goats
I used to work at McDonald’s a few months ago for little while and I was on grill and I understand how frustrating things can get in the back. Typical rushes are pretty overwhelming just to my experience but 40 value meals!?!? If it were me behind there on tables I would have had to leave. Respect man. Just seeing this is awesome and shows that there are some hard ass workers out there. Really good content creator and also a spectacular worker. Keep it up brother you’ll go far with perseverance and dedication. Much love and goodnight 🤙🤙❤❤
The SOUNDS of McDonald's always make me so nostalgic and bring me back to childhood. Lol. Especially the beeps. Anyone else?? 🍔🍟🥰
As a kid my parents used to take me to McDonald's as a reward for good behaviour, good grades or just because. So McDonald's has always been positive to me. I miss those nuggets and fries 🤤
@@remiu2149 that's awesome! A real treat! 🍔🍟 I miss the look and feel of the old McDonald's restaurants and play areas too.. it was the best back then!! At least we still have the memories🥰🍔🍟
Do you still enjoy McDonald's?
The beeps seem to be the same all over the world. The McDonald's restaurants here in Italy have the same kind of beeps I hear in these videos. They probably use the same machines.
@@DeAtHKrUsHeR89 probably! That's so interesting! Would be comforting to hear the same beeping in another part of the world🥰
Yo trabajo en un mc donalds aquí en México y me dan ansiedad esos sonidos xd
This is completely satisfying to watch, I wonder if It makes you hungry at some point or productive at some point but in my opinion it's fascinating to watch, I can guarantee you that.
I have the greatest respect for this guy. I mean, wow, you are the best in your field my man. It would take me about two decades to get where you are at with not just your preparation, BUT YOUR ANTICIPATION INSTINCTS. Thank you for the videos. They are awesome. I hope cooperate appreciates it.
Surprised that it wasn't nikocado avocado that ordered this
HA! Honestly 😆
@@Nate_S McDonald's is a job for teenagers to gain work experience. Y'all are taking their jobs away so that when they get older they can't get better paying jobs starting off.
Nothing wrong with working at McDonalds, the problem is people unlike this guy who don't care about doing their job right.
Have wicked ass hang over from last night and been watching the hell out of these videos. Thank you sir.
I need to show my local McDonald's your videos. This is how you serve 40 meals without fucking up every order. Uber eats will ban you if you report missing items from too many orders but somehow my local McDonald's never ceases to amaze me. Absolutely beautiful to watch. You're in your element
I love how you multi-task while doing your job but also keep up with the work. I do the same thing at mine. Start making the orders, then immediately set up for the orders. Even tho it might seem like you have a few seconds or minutes of free time... you are still continuously working. "Ok got my buns down, set up boxes, do i havw ingredients.. check, ok move on, buns out guns out lets get this bread guys and get the customer happy and out of here!!! Always keep up the good work an do what you love.
I kept yelling at my screen, stop taking his buns! Stop stealing his chickens!
@@jbjacobs9514 i feel that 😂😂
I worked at McDonalds during the beanie baby happy meal era. It was insane all the time everyday almost. Honestly felt probably like this story for weeks or months.
You're an insanely hard worker and respect all of your workers with kindness
Mad respect for you and everyone in the industry!
you guys are great workers and people, god bless you guys lol
Love these 20 minute videos I wait for them every time they come out ❤
All kinds of food service, whether a gourmet restaurant or a fast food joint, has humanity behind it, this video was great!
Thanks for showing people how hard fast food workers actually work. I think people underestimate these jobs by a lot
I love watching this guy work!!! He’s clean and fast
Thanks to these videos I appreciate more the fast food workers thanks for what you do
I am starting my first job at McDonald’s all because of you Stephan you inspired me so much thank you man!
The content I choose to watch while fasting
The finger tapping from all the adrenaline waiting for that next order or buns to come in/out. Can definitely relate!😂
Literally just stumbled upon your videos but I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that you try to do everything is neat as possible. I once got a cheeseburger that was stacked like a venn diagram. I understand how busy they get though
After watching your videos, I will never look at McDonald's in the same light ever again Your store is so well run.
Wow, this toaster works great! Used to work for Australia's Burger King (Hungry Jacks) and our buns would get stuck inside ALL the time and get extra crispy and burnt, and had to fish it out with tongs. Also now those sauce squeezers look like they work really well, too.
Videos like this are super entertaining for me love the content much respect
It's an art to work like this!!! Thanks for filling our orders,we really do appreciate you guys!!!!
There’s no way a robot could replace you, you are a BURGER BUILDING MACHINE! I don’t eat fast food, but you guys deserve way more respect than people give to “slingin burgers”. You work hard. There’s no way my hands could handle that kind of repetition all day, much respect!
There's something so soothing about watching you work. I've been at McDonald's for 5 or so years, and I still am amazed
Thanks for what you do ashleyroset347
Hope you make it out the trenches
love watching how you guys work i work in a busy cafe very fast paced i really love it
New Sub here, never thought I would need videos like this, i'm seriously addicted, lol. Keep up the good work man :)
Never fully realized or appreciated how hard you guys work in fast food service until now ✌️
Ive been in charge of multi-million dollar engineering/construction projects and i can confidently say working in fast food as a teen was one of the hardest jobs i've ever had. Its hot, greasy, constant movement, entitled customers who think they own you because they dropped $4 on a burger. Very demanding job, just not intellectually hard.
I start working at McDonald’s on Tuesday! I’m nervous. I close and work in the kitchen
Good luck! You’ll do great
I've been working in kitchens for nearly 20yrs. They're all different; they're all the same. Always been nervous starting in a new one, but once you know where everything is and 'The Routine', you get into the swing pretty quickly. Good luck 👍.
And how is it? Are you still working there?
there's something very satisfying about watching someone good enough at their job to autopilot all this
i agree with the guy in blue the way you wrap your mcdobles, also the way you use both hands when your making them is a true sign of practice. youve got a groove in how you do everything bc youve done it a million times. or at least 100's and its so clean. god i love this video.
Good to see a franchise owner in the trenches! ❤
I could never keep track of all that. People would be getting all sorts of crazy stuff in their orders.
Customer: There's a fish patty on my double cheeseburger.
Me: It's the surf and turf burger. Just go with it.
Same.
This is like ASMR for my eyes .. so satisfying 😅
This is the most fun video out of all the hamburger making videos. (I'm watching it in Korea)❤😊
I’ve worked fast food before (Pizza Hut) and although I will likely NEVER return to it (I will never forget those murderous rushes), watching this is quite therapeutic. It’s what I like to call organized chaos and just seeing things run smoothly like a well oiled machine is relaxing.
I’m a McDonalds Crew Member, so seeing how Kitchen works just amazes me, and it looks so stressful, I know I’d probably lose my head, lol
Ikr, I work service and only did grill when it wasn't busy a couple of times, but trying to make all those orders during a rush would be so stressful

Question 🙋♂️, what time (roughly) do you guys start reviewing up lunch (when breakfast time is still going (but almost done))?
About 30 minutes before changeover
@@StephenPatula , ok I was kinda thinking the same thing 😊 thank you 🙏
ALL this hard work and people still throw a fit about workers demanding a proper wage!! Much respect and appreciation to all fast food workers out there, you work just as hard if not harder than anybody else.
After seeing these vids I now have huge respect for these people working this line back there. It's clean, its running like a machine and these people are BUSY and everything is coming out perfect.
Such a grind, I love it. Keep it up
I’m such a fan of McDonald’s sadly I can’t walk anymore and haven’t had anything in years but watching you make it happen is so awesome ❤️
Isn't that you walking in your videos?
@@etholus1000 yup but very little and holding on to things Parkinson’s hasn’t been kind to me 🤦🏻♂️
I'm not sure I like the new bun toaster.
Mickey D's gets more like Burger King every year. Of course, they haven't been industry leaders in years.
Amazing hard work with full concentration. Respect.
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.

You can really tell how much practice has gone into this with how fluid and deliberate the motions are
There really is no such thing as "unskilled labor"
Current process is more work for the kitchen but better product for the customer.
mf is so damn slow w it, always dropping or not able ot grab things

Unbelievable pace, I wouldnt do that for less than twenty an hour. Impressed with the politeness, must be hard for people to keep their cool under time crunch.. im so nervous about starting my new job at maccas it all looks so simple from here, but i already know im gonna stuff up half the orders with my newbie skills. This video teaches me alot of what goes on in the kitchen.
In recently applied for a GM position at one of my local McDonald's. I've mainly worked in warehouse management for eight years. When I was a teenager I worked for McDonald's for 2 years.
All food is getting smaller while the prices keep increasing
look at the size difference between the regular hamburger and quater pounder, there are almost the same size now
no, they are still the same size. while everyone else in the industry has a much larger fish patty. it makes me wonder why they haven't increased the size. but it is still the same size. the racks that you cook them in still have the same spacing when u cook them so they are not or have not gotten smaller.
@@sethterwilliger9434 by definition the amount of meat stays the same. Reg meat is used in the hamburgers which is a tenth of a pound (10:1), and quarter meat used for the quarters is a quarter of a pound (4:1). It might look different but the weight and therefore amount of meat is the same
@Mark not sure if you like Arby's or not but I've Been told the new Fish sandwich they offer is really good. I can say from personal experience Culver's has a really good fish sandwich
