It looks great, but… How do you prevent the deck from sliding off the blocks?

Let me tell you. I enjoyed a video immensely. I have watched about 20-25 videos on building a deck and yours was so easy to follow. I cannot wait to show mine once I can get started lol

You don't install deck boards with the side you like facing up. You want to go bark side down. You do this by looking at the grain on the end of the board. You want the 'rainbow' to be upside down or have a smiley face with the wood grain, when you lay the board. This will ensure the the board will 'crown' over time to let water run off and not cup. A cupped board will hold water and deteriorate your boards faster. Boards with a straight looking grain are fine to lay on either side. Also, use joist tape or some type of waterproofing on the tops of all joist as this is where water will collect in between the deck boards. 👍

How do you get rid of the ever regrowing weed? We seem to have this problem by doing the same thing as you've done. Birds, wind, insects kept bringing new weed onto our barks

What type of wood did you use?

I don't understand why so many people build floating decks, with the support blocks showing. They can so easily be placed under an added joist placed just between the outer rim joist and the first joist.

Probably because they don’t know this or because they want to do it this way.

Wait. It seems easy but no securing the wood to the blocks?
