That's one of the ways owls show affection for one another: grooming. Louise the Owl was trying to groom Annie the Dog, and was probably flabbergasted by the dog fur.
humans tend to severely underestimate all sorts of animals brain capacity, alot of predatory animal are etxtremely intellingent.... constant hunger in the wild dictates these animals must constantly kill eachother... enter the human who keeps them very well fed and it will surprise you what other animals they will bond with - the same no brain killer instinct exists within humans when they are not well fed...
I don't see how this is not searching for insects in the dog's fur. There are plenty of hints. When the owl moves on, it starts to do the same thing with the grass.
LuckyDucky Girl2000 the owl was displaying grooming behavior. especially with its beak. see how it was going for the dog's ears and the back of its head? Those are kinda hard for most animals to reach, and one of the things birds and mammels have in common is bonding/grooming type social behaviors.
This amazes me - especially knowing the character of predatory birds and the deadly sharpness and power of owl talons. Yet, the owl looks as if it wants to stroke the fur of the dog. It's just beautiful. :) Thanks for sharing.
this is one of the most awesome things ive ever seen. i don know who is more composed - the owl or the dog... its just an agreed-upon neutrality hardly ever seen.
Thank you sharing something so simple and true, gentle and kind in these turbulent times! Is gives me hope and calms the fears. We could learn so much from mother Natures creatures. Will be watching for more. Many thanks.
It is looking for bugs to eat, shaggy animals like this dog always have those. (Animals do not have human souls, which have nothing to do with emotions and feelings).
Well, you wrote '180 people have no soul.' I responded 'It is looking for bugs to eat, shaggy animals like this dog always have those. (Animals do not have human souls, which have nothing to do with emotions and feelings).' I must have been on about people not liking the video because it is not an owl loving a dog, but a n owl searching for bugs. The title was obviously to get people to click on the video so they can make a little $$$. The part in () is optional for you read and consider if you wish. Is that clear enough for you?
The owl has more sense than the dog owner, the owl is taking off fleas or ticks and the dogs hair is matter terribly, leading to infection and other problems. If you can't care for your dog give it up! Buy one of those $10 mitts with the little nubs and rub him/her out daily at least once, takes 5 minutes.
Bandit ImaClubYou Don't believe in caring for your dogs? How about you kiss my ass lowlife. Make sure you put the tires on your trailer before winter so you can move it to Florida.
Bill, I totally agree with what you're saying and I just had this conversation with my friend 2 days ago. But, I think this dog is a wire haired and is why it looks matted but probably isn't. I don't know…as I don't know what the breed of this dog really is. Just wanted to throw that out there.
Heidi L. ot like him. I bought one of those gloves you wear with the little nipples and I brush them daily, this one also needs the hair below his eyes trimmed, they gather "tears" and debris there. Thank you Heidi L.
Shut up you idiot. Learn more about dogs before you come on here and publicly bash someone who probably loves their dog very much. It's German Wirehaired Pointer, their fur always looks like that.
I'd like to know the story here. This poor owl is obviously imprinted. That's not good for owls or for people. While this cute on the surface, I fear that it is also tragic
Imprinted: an animal bonded to another animal, viewing them as a companion or parent. Of course the owl is imprinted, but as long as it isn't getting released there's nothing wrong with that. Considering that this owl is being raised for falconry, this isn't tragic at all. You need falconry birds to have good manners, unless you want them attacking their owners and fellow pets. arachnophilegrrl, please check your sources before you type an ignorant comment.
Does it matter where the owl or the dog come from I wonder? My attention is caught briefly by a comment that mentions the owl is obviously a pet. Well,so is the dog. Watching the video, what strikes me is the simple beauty of seeing 2 dissimilar species not only getting along, trusting each others' company, but also allowing for a sharing of grooming and/or giving/receiving of what we two-legged call Love. And I think that is what we could all use a lot more wonder about. Thank Owl, Dog &friends.
Dogs have this uncanny ability to calm any creature that associates with it. The owl, even though it is a baby, has huge talons. You can tell that the owl loves the dog because the owl did not use her talons to hurt the dog. This is a wonderful video.
During the 1,000 year reign of Christ on Earth, this will be a very normal thing. God gives us signs that point towards prophecy. Isaiah 11 vs 6 - 10 Revelation 20 vs 2 I'm just a God fearing Bible believing Christian. Accept that Christ died for you and be saved. With Love, Alex
If all of us could learn from our friends. They can teach us a thing or two about luv! God also put VERY special people on earth. My baby sister is one. Let me tell u these special people make the world a lot better! Their love and forgiveness is out of this world!
the owl looks like a lovely grandma^^
Im sorry for your grandpa then.
Teal'c xD
They look like an old married couple
Maybe a nurturing one 😊
I love how he's so sweet and gentle with those otherwise terrifying giant talons of death.
Owls are such magnificent creatures.
That's one of the ways owls show affection for one another: grooming. Louise the Owl was trying to groom Annie the Dog, and was probably flabbergasted by the dog fur.
It looks like a very young owl too.
sergeantassassin3 Having handled different owls, I can't believe that poor dog tolerates this. Those talons are wicked, but it's really adorable.
"Dude, your feathers are messed up! Let me straighten them out for you..."
lol!
Dangerous Facts Hes young and molding w Clipped wings. Same w the bird.
Owl: "My Precious"
lol ....very good
Megan Naylor , LOL! Very clever!
Aww, very cute patient dog with a gentle fluffy adorable owl. :)
I love how cautious the owl is trying to be when he tries to pet the dog with it's claws at 0:25 . So cute!
She...those jewels are both females

Owl looks like he has a versace sweater on
that's because he's still young, still not done shedding all of his baby down feathers yet
Versace mohair
That is hilarious.
I love this video. I've watched it so many times over the years. I've sent it to many people as well.
Regardless of whether this is actual affection or an owl looking for some food, this is still fucking adorable.
humans tend to severely underestimate all sorts of animals brain capacity, alot of predatory animal are etxtremely intellingent.... constant hunger in the wild dictates these animals must constantly kill eachother... enter the human who keeps them very well fed and it will surprise you what other animals they will bond with - the same no brain killer instinct exists within humans when they are not well fed...
We can do without the language.
Cheryl Magnuson no we can't, this is the fucking Internet. You are in the wrong place for clean language.
Cheryl Magnuson - I agree; the gratuitous profanity is pretty childish and pointless.
Thank you. I get so tired of reading & hearing it.
Owl is like c'mon let me pet you
Lol
Wow...This is just too adorable ;)
The owl is very talon-ted. :)
Whoot cares.
Ha ha ha! 👍
pretty cool how careful that owl is with his talons.
The owl clearly wants to pet the dog but knows how sharp his talons are.
Owls probably thinking, "I don't have too many friends, I think you will do!?"
What an incredible owl! SO beautiful with such a soft and gentle touch. This is awesome!
That dog looks like it'd be voiced by Sam Elliot.
that's great! lol I love Sam elliot! The dog does look like how he'd look if he was a dog. hahaha
And maybe joe pesci for the owl😂
+Alex Panciera "The owl dude abides..."
+Molten74 We're just waiting for the dog to tell the owl "Now go home and get your fucking shinebox"
Falcø Lmfao
These little creatures have every right to be here Look how beautiful

"Dis is strange owl. Must check."
This is so sweet and what a patient puppy. I love owls. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed watching this.
Adorable! I just love seeing these animal (cross-species) friendships!
What a lovely elderly couple. They're so lucky to still have each other!
The owl is clearly in love with the dog. Don't seperate them please.
The owl thinks the doggie is his long-lost mommy. That's about the cutest thing I've ever seen:) Thanks for sharing.
I've seen this video before, but seeing it again just made me think of Edward Scissorhands! LOL!
owls and dogs, two of my favorite beings on the planet. thank you!
owl is like damn you got weird feathers
The dog reminds me so much of my beloved one. She died almost two years ago and now I'm close to tears again
"this moving pile of hay is so uppity I can't make a nest."
just beautiful to see them together, just love having animals around me.
Owl: What if I grabs her face? What is happen then?
When one considers what those talons can do to prey and to ungloved human hands that hold them... This is amazing !
I don't see how this is not searching for insects in the dog's fur.
There are plenty of hints. When the owl moves on, it starts to do the same thing with the grass.
That is the most tolerant dog I have ever seen. Amazing!
Owl: you look tasty, but i don't know how to start devouring you..
that was my first thought!
+gasper gwanchele yeah, but dogs are also scared of cats exactly how humans are afraid of insects.
i thought the same!!!!
gasper gwanchele aaaahhhh. so cute but that dog may lose an eye accidently. Those owl talons are fierce.
gasper gwanchele Owl " i love hotdogs, but where the hell are the condiments?"
Owls are definitely one of my favorite animals. They're just so awesome
Adorable! _You look kinda like me, we must be birds of a feather._
DOG: "Get your dirty rat grabbers off me and drink your coffee"
Hey! I met this lovely Louise yesterday at Pebble Beach. I'll never forget it. Thanks for the awesome experience!
Are you sure the owl wasnt trying to eat the dog?
LuckyDucky Girl2000 the owl was displaying grooming behavior. especially with its beak. see how it was going for the dog's ears and the back of its head? Those are kinda hard for most animals to reach, and one of the things birds and mammels have in common is bonding/grooming type social behaviors.
Beatiful!the owl puts his claws so gentle in the dogs hair.
She's cleaning her meal.
That's honestly the cutest thing I have ever seen
Baby owls are the best.
Birds are incredibly affectionate, and they can even tell you how they feel about you : )
I thought there was music on in the background until I realised that they were sprinklers. O.O
Who's the man that won't cop out when there's danger all about?
....
SPRINKLER! (You're damn right)
That owl is incredibly exotic looking. Wow. Gorgeous. The dog is lovely, too. :)
Whoooooo whooooo wouldn't like this video
I love owls! They are definitely the coolest bird species.
Holy freaking talons batman!
This amazes me - especially knowing the character of predatory birds and the deadly sharpness and power of owl talons. Yet, the owl looks as if it wants to stroke the fur of the dog. It's just beautiful. :) Thanks for sharing.
Such a good dog.
this is one of the most awesome things ive ever seen. i don know who is more composed - the owl or the dog... its just an agreed-upon neutrality hardly ever seen.
Hooooooooooooot.
The owl is combing the dog! How cute!
Fucking Pidgey right here.
Awww - the owl just wants to snuggle with her best buddie. Too cute!
I hate when person in video thinks that silence is weird so they feel compelled to say something either obvious or stupid
I would be so incredibly blown away to have an owl play with my dog!!!
I got to pet this owl FOR REAL and hold it,and I got to meet the dog
Dog is so mellow she's like leave me alone already Owl! sooo cute!
umm..i think the owl wants to eat it
Thank you sharing something so simple and true, gentle and kind in these turbulent times! Is gives me hope and calms the fears. We could learn so much from mother Natures creatures. Will be watching for more. Many thanks.
"I want to eat it, but it's too big to fit in my mouth... maybe if I cut it up a little first."
OMG! How adorable are those two?
I am not convinced this is "love".
I'm not convinced that you are convinced
Wow ! I've never seen an owl do ANYTHING remotely like this! adorable!!

Big feet on that owl. And serious feather -fur. Must be a Yeti-Owl!
Meanwhile, at the Barber Shop...
The owl is telling the doggy everything will be ok. Dog looks depressed and owl is concerned. Good friend! Wish I could see an owl in real life 😀☮️💖.
BABY OWL WANTS TO SWALLOW DOG WHOLE AND DOESN'T KNOW HOW!
Spinones are such gentle dogs...how sweet!
Tzamn that owl is big
edisonsun21c and it's still a baby
edisonsun21c. It's an owlette.
That dog looks just like my Italian Spinone and she goes nuts when a bird comes in the yard. That is amazing.
Seems like the owl might be trying to eat it.
HAHA I love when he's gently trying to "claw" the dog without hurting him. Like Edward Scissorhands trying to hug someone. :P
signiblue, have RUclips run a shake remove algorithm on this video. It will be much smoother.
Very cute. Annie seems like such a sweet, well-tempered girl. Thank you for sharing.

Just go away please.
Why do all god comments sound like a crazy guy who here's voices in his head?
Brian Cosgrove why do you deny the God of the Universe? He gave you a concious to know he exists. He died for your sins... John 3:16
What a fearless owl and dog. They say animals can smell fear and when there is no fear to smell, they do not attack one another.
this is too cute..i was just kind of scared that the dog was gonna get poked in the eyes lol. Such a sweet dog and owlet.
Italian Spinone! I used to have one! Such lovely, kind, sweet loving family dogs..
I hav met this owl and she would NEVER hurt anyone, especially not the dog that she grew up with!
I don't know why, but I can't stop watching this.

owl: is this annoying? how about this?
Italian Spinone! Fab to see with a bird as they are hunting dogs, well that's when they aren't chilling on your sofa! Love this video!
Both so sweet! :-) love how gentle owl chick (I think?) is with its talents....sweet tolerant dog! cutest pair! :-)
