I have a micro hoody and the new down sweater jacket. The down sweater is warmer, more substantial, and more comfy. But that all comes in a 15.5oz vs 10.9oz in size large. Both have their place, but if I were to choose one it would be the down sweater for the warmth.
Can you please do a review of the Decathlon Forclaz MT 500 down hooded jacket and compare it to Patagonia down sweater hoody. MT 500 jacket is a new model from Decathlon which has a down filling weight of 5.2oz(149g) which is similar to the Patagonia Down Sweater Hoody.
Besides the down sweater being a much warmer jacket with a tougher outer shell. The long term durability is heavily in the DS favor. Down can be compressed over and over and will last 20 years. Synthetic will lose loft quickly. Compressing and washing kills the warmth after only a couple seasons.
love the pat down jacket, i own a hoodless and a hoody. they last forever. whats with the color choice tho? Looking like a phony hollywood blvd superman costume

Great video, today I got a Down Sweater (not hoody) for $ 138 on Patagonias's annual sale, great jacket for the price. Thank you for the advice.
I was looking for exactly that type of video! Thx
@@Erik-rw9ng your welcome glad it was helpful
We are the exact same height and weight so this review is so amazing for me! 😁
Great stuff as always! Any chance you could throw up metric conversions on screen when mentioning temperatures and weights?
@@bmd6343 thanks. Yes I will try to do that more often. Thanks for the reminder
Bro you make the absolute best gear comparison videos. Not sure how you're not getting 10x the views.
@@r-3675 thank you! Maybe one day
Very good review, thankyou so much brother

Bonjour so which one is the best ?
@@patriceb26 I prefer the down sweater if I had to choose between the two
Ok merci 👍

32 degrees?? .. Doesn't make sense. Is this Fahrenheit?
@@moontesa yes
Micro for sure. Also, it's 2024, feathers belong on the birds.
DS is much warmer and will last years and years. The micro will lose loft quickly and be useless in a few seasons.

Haha I thought it was unique so went with the red and blue.
