Zeppelin Fan REACTS to Greta Van Fleet - Safari Song Part 1of 8

- I've been digging Greta Van Fleet SO much that I have had to make a conscious decision to NOT listen to them as I go about my days. This is one so that I can react to the more here for you guys. So, today I will begin Part 1 of 8. We are reacting to Safari Song from their debut album From the Fires.
This song absolutely made me want to MOVE. LOTS of energy. Fantastic groove and feel throughout the entire track. Absolutely LOVE the Steven Tyler (LMFAO) influence on the vocals.

They sure have matured since this album. They still do this one sometimes in their concerts. GVF grows on you for sure. Great band

I find you extremely amusing, hahahaha! I subscribed because of that and, well, because I’m a Greta fan for the past few years. I’m now 62, and this music sounds like home to me. Oh, and also, I don’t give a crap what the haters say…none of us do…😄

Safari Song was the song that popped my GVF cherry and I honestly loved it BECAUSE of the lyrics (as well as the music). As a woman it was so refreshing to hear a real rock n roll song that’s respectful of women.

This song is great live, a drum solo is added at the end. I was fortunate to see GVF a couple times in a small venue, I think those days are over with an arena tour coming up.
And yes, I was a total Zeppelin fanatic in the 70’s having seen them multiple times every tour from early 1970 to 1977.

I know everyone says, "They've grown up now," but I love every song on this debut album out of all of them so far. They were in their teens or early 20s' when they wrote these songs. I blast this LP in my car. I'm 60 🙃.

Love this song, definitely catchy. I actually heard this before Highway Tune, it was the first song from them I ever listened to. Brings back that awesome memory of just trying to find some good new music and boom this came up. I was sold from that point on. So crazy to come back to this album. 😄

The lyrics are no surprise, Josh wrote them when he was still at school, these guys were formed so very young, 3 brothers ( 2 twins) and drummer childhood friend, they were playing biker gigs at about 14, lyrics became more profound as he got older. Funny this album was the one that was slated by some purists for LZ rip off accusations ( due to their upbringing they had the same influences as LZ did anyway, they had their parents extensive vinyl collection to use and fathers instruments Xmas he had a blues band, but not allowed to listen to the oop music drivel on the radio, great move when they finally heard it at school they neither understood or liked it anyway😂 The nasty rip off accusations have followed them ever since by a bunch of haters. That is why their music has changed and yet they still get the comparisons I wish they would just embrace it the way Dirty Honey have give the finger and get on with it. You will notice less and less banging rock tunes as you progress, it's still good but I miss the stuff on through the fires. Make sure to read the reaction on this album from Pitchfork , I would like to see that ba*tard twisting and turning now

This was their first album rather an EP.....surprisingly the only two songs that Im not too crazy about are the only two covers they have done : A Change is gonna Come (the classic song by Sam Cooke ) and Meet on the Ledge ...I Ilke much more their first album.ANthem of teh Peaceful Army......and the last one Battle at the Garden's Gate

@@shotgunndunn From the Fires is a double EP (first EP was called Black Smoke Rising...and this is an extended version). ...but it got nominated for Best Rock Album and they won the Grammy...
