The branch where he got this car from suuuucks, my wife worked there for 2 months she quickly found another job because management is trash, once Dave posted the information for the manager I understood why they were playing with him so much
them views gonna go right up, can’t wait to see the wagon on its first startup… you should keep the Durango too, they’re gonna be worth a pretty penny down the line.
The video is titled rebuilding a Durango part 1 I think that should tell ya. Dave your garage gives me wet dreams man between the horses the paint the cylinder count next you’ll need a trx/viper/ or srt10 viper truck
Just wanna say that a couple of weeks ago I got one of your latest Charger videos in the recommendations, had to check the entire playlist, few videos at a time, finished watching all of it last night. All I wanna say is, that project is one of the best on YT and the amount of attention to detail you've put in that car is just amazing. You've done an amazing job sir, definitely gonna sub and see how everything turns out. Cheers man 🥂
I'm happy to see you received the Durango see what happens when a little teamwork is applied... Now you can get finished building this masterpiece go Dave go!!!!💪💪💪🔥🔥💯
Funny how fast that Durango shows up after their shenanigans were put on blast for all to see. Glad it finally made it happen and to bad it took what it did to get it. It was some total nonsense to say the least but let hope they learned their lesson and it is well worth it on your end. Looks like some fun to come.
I've always wanted to get a wrecked sports car from copart and rebuild it but always get cold feet. So I'll just live through you lol. Congrats on finally getting that thing
Same thing happened to my grandparents on the highway near Vernal Utah. Dear came out of no where smashed half of the windshield crunched the pillar. And trashed the door. But that was in 2013
I’m so glad to see that you’ve been united with your Durango Dave, it’s about time really but hey at least you’ve got it now buddy. Good luck with the project, it looks like a easy enough fix for you 👌🏻
Dave.. SHORT TO GROUND on any part of the battery buss would IMMEDIATELY leed to smoke and fire and or blown fuses. Check ALL the fuses and see if any are blown. That would be my first go to area. Also throw a good scan tool on it and see if there are ant DTCs. If the air bags are deployed, that could also cause a Collision Safety Circuit to be active leading to a NO Start issue. Make sure that you check the BODY MODULE for DTC that could cause the Theft Deterrent / Crash/Collision circuit to employ. Good Luck Brother. Looking forward to see MORE videos on this project.
I'm glad that you are making these videos! I have a 2000 Mercedes CLK 320 and I hope to put a 392 6speed out of a Challenger in it eventually. I think that the power to weight ratio would be incredible. Again thank you for the video content it is very inspiring. Take care man!
Check the filter it probably has “factory installed” printed on it. They are always very tight from the factory as they are prob not installed with oil on the seal. Also that’s an intelligent battery sensor not a breaker. It just monitors battery state of charge. It looks like the ignition is cycling instead of starting. You prob need to really push the brake pedal down hard to start as the brake pedal switch isn’t moving enough for the switch to say the brake is being pressed.
Dave that Durango is pretty dam cool! All by itself it is a cool rebuild project but combined with the Hellwagon you will have some awesome content for a long time! Thanks for all the cool stuff you do and sharing with us!
Weld a few steel coupon pull tabs on that quarter under the window and the edge near the hatch and attach a basic pulling clamp, with a come-along you should be able to pull that quarter enough to free the hatch and get that fold away from the glass.
So glad you got the durango 😎👌🏼 after all that crap you went through with Copart love this color on the durango but hopefully you get this thing started 💪🏽😤
Also. That was laying on its side. You can see by the scrapes along the D pillar. I would be wary of possible engine damage due to oil starvation. Also that little negative sensor is an IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor). It can see how much voltage the car is using or being charged. Not the no start issue. Sounds like the battery is bad. It will drop the voltage like that when it tries to start.
What you replaced there is the IBS sensor which sits on the negative pole, telling the ECU how to charge the battery. You need to take out the positive cable and that one has a fuse embedded , connected to the airbag system, whenever airbags are deployed this fuse pops preventing fuel pump to work and other components. On some cars, the dashboard doesn't even light up when that is blown.
My old Durango would've been a decent transplant candidate to go along with that. It was a '17 GT V-6 model, 150k miles. Last month, a black truck, on an unlit 2 lane road, ended up across my lane of travel. The oncoming traffic blinded me to everything else in the area. The resulting t-bone left the windshield busted, the dash ripped and torn from the airbags, and the engine bay section trashed. Everything behind the dash & windshield was still damned near pristine. Ins. Co. Totalled it out...
Glad you finally got the Durango after all the hassles getting it released, now to get it started. This should be an interesting build. Looks like hitting a deer is common in the U.S. Here in Australia, it's kangaroos that get hit pretty often. My wife hit one with our Mitsubishi Starwagon and almost totalled it, because the kangaroo went through the grille and did a lot of damage, but luckily it wasn't totalled and it got repaired. I hit one with my mate's falcon, but it was a small kangaroo and it just went under the car with little damage.
Dave seems more excited about this one than the Charger/Magnum! Lol I can’t wait for both. It would be neat if they were both painted the same. Either way, can’t wait for this turn out as well! 💯 Shout out from Chicago! *fist bumps you* 🤜🏽🤛🏻
You got a Beautiful Durango, I love that red leather interior. Congratulations on your new ride its going to be really beautiful after you're done with it . Keep up the great work Dave and God Bless. 🔥💯💪🏼👍👍🙏🙏✌
Sheeeeeesh ma brotha finally got the beast 💪 finally we getting back on track ,i was as excited as you was i was in bed saying "hell yeah srt durango baby" now lets hit the foward button and get it done ..once again blessings 🙌 🙏
Funny thing, once Copart started getting some scathing reviews, that your rig got released RIGHT now......glad you received it & it's my opinion, judging from the title of this video, that you should rebuild the Durango HC, damage doesn't look that terrible. Thanks for the great video and keep up the good work!
Maybe try opening the hatch manually from the inside. The emergency liftgate latch release can be accessed through a snap-in cover located on the liftgate trim panel.
Just a heads up on windows you may or may not break when removing, i always duct tape a thick plastic bag to the interior side of the window at the framing so if it does break it goes in the bag or on the floor. I get a box of them from Fastenall because they are straight seamed straight at the bottom and can be cut to make a long sheet if needed, also are perfect engine covers or body bags for asshats that wont let you get what you paid for lol
That little black box connected to the negative terminal is called the IBS (intelligent battery sensor). It is not a disconnect switch. The PCM monitors the battery state of charge via this small module, especially if it’s a stop start vehicle. I have never seen one cause a no start condition. What it looks like is when you go to start the vehicle, you get a voltage drop due to the starter demanding all of the available voltage, and due to that, the rest of the vehicle systems shut down due to the lack of voltage. The PCM is especially vulnerable to this as it controls the starting function(s) via the PDC and when the voltage drops too low, it shuts down. When that happens, enough voltage is again available to allow the rest of the modules to come back on line. Most likely issue is that both batteries are dead or faulty, both batteries really need to be fully charged to allow the vehicle to start properly. Or, at least have a battery pack (jump box) that is capable of supplying enough amps to run the systems. A battery charger, or jumper cables is usually not enough to provide the necessary voltage/amps to start a completely dead Chrysler vehicle. Btw, I’m a Chrysler tech that is watching you vids with enthusiasm if you need anything, let me know, maybe I could help.
There should be an access panel inside on the rear hatch its for the manual override the grand Cherokee has it they should be the same , and the sensor on the battery is an intelligent battery sensor they are used to tell if the battery drops a cell or is going bad.
Dave, nice looking truck .. You really should pull out the damaged 1/4 first. Hit with a disc to release the tension in the metal. 1/4 glass try to save, disc cut close to glass , the heat and release of tension should allow you to remove intact
I love when he just goes straight to work
Awesome Dave! I’m glad to see that Copart has finally stopped sitting on their hands
The branch where he got this car from suuuucks, my wife worked there for 2 months she quickly found another job because management is trash, once Dave posted the information for the manager I understood why they were playing with him so much
Thanks for showing you vacuuming the truck. I don’t know why but it’s satisfying seeing something going from dirty the clean.
Yeah it makes a difference
them views gonna go right up, can’t wait to see the wagon on its first startup… you should keep the Durango too, they’re gonna be worth a pretty penny down the line.
I keep most of the stuff I buy
The video is titled rebuilding a Durango part 1 I think that should tell ya. Dave your garage gives me wet dreams man between the horses the paint the cylinder count next you’ll need a trx/viper/ or srt10 viper truck
Lol, he has a junkyard, figuratively and literally.
It should not have taken an army of people complaining to get you what you paid for! Regardless, I'm glad to see you finally got the damned thing!
The Durango is Dave’s new daily hopefully
Very happy you got the Durango. Hopefully the influx of emails/calls helped expedite things.
Hope she starts up soon.
I love when surgery begins and you see the recovery beginning 👍🏾
Finally. Congratulations
Seems our copart reviews may of helped..great that its arrived for you at last.
Glad you were actually able to get it! Really cool vehicle.
Dave, hurry up and get the next part out. U got me on knife edge on this new project. Cut out the airbags to allow more light in.
Oohhhh its in the grey too... siiiiick. You just need a TRX and you've collected the whole hellcat set haha
Congrats Finally got it.
I'm glad you finally got the Durango. That ordeal with Copart was ridiculous.
Just wanna say that a couple of weeks ago I got one of your latest Charger videos in the recommendations, had to check the entire playlist, few videos at a time, finished watching all of it last night. That trailer had that fancy "Soft Decking" option. It flexes and pops as you roll over it.
I'm happy to see you received the Durango see what happens when a little teamwork is applied... Now you can get finished building this masterpiece go Dave go!!!!💪💪💪🔥🔥💯
You're content just keeps getting better Dave!
Funny how fast that Durango shows up after their shenanigans were put on blast for all to see. Glad it finally made it happen and to bad it took what it did to get it. It was some total nonsense to say the least but let hope they learned their lesson and it is well worth it on your end. Looks like some fun to come.
I gave Copart a negative review on your behalf. I'm glad they finally honored their obligation. Cheers 🍻 Dave!
Thanks again!
@@Junkyard_Dave it's the least I could do. Keep up the great work.
Hey I'm so happy for you so glad you finally got the durango. I can't wait until you rebuild it. I love this channel your content is awesome.
I've always wanted to get a wrecked sports car from copart and rebuild it but always get cold feet. So I'll just live through you lol. Congrats on finally getting that thing
Glad Copart finally stopped fkn around! I’m sure you’ll get that no start figured out quickly. I’m excited to see the new heart in the wagon!!
I'm glad you got your truck finally. It seems like it is in good shape. I'd put it back together in a heart beat.
Amazing! Very talented!
Same thing happened to my grandparents on the highway near Vernal Utah. Dear came out of no where smashed half of the windshield crunched the pillar. And trashed the door. But that was in 2013
I'm glad you finally have the Durango , I would not use Copart again .
Wagon is epic and so is the Durango. Stoked for you my feller
I’m so glad to see that you’ve been united with your Durango Dave, it’s about time really but hey at least you’ve got it now buddy.

Finally they released it
Now unleashed the beast Dave
very Nice!! Glad you finally got it!

Please don't be late for the next video
You look exhausted with all this stuff but enjoy man
Bout time u got it ...
Nice it finally arrived
Damn that is a pretty light wreck, gonna be pretty cool when you get it back together. Sad how fast people wreck brand new vehicles like this.
Looks like Jiffy Lube Strikes again! 100lbs of torque on oil filters and oil pan plug bolts
So glad you got the durango 😎👌🏼 after all that crap you went through with Copart love this color on the durango but hopefully you get this thing started 💪🏽😤
The headlights looks good.
the driver is busted
Dave Dave Dave. Why do you do this to me whilst I'm at work. Again have to wait 8 hours to watch your brilliancy
I can't wait to see these projects finished!
Happy for you JD!
Seems like a fun project I’m ALL for it brother keep it coming

Tape the rear glass on outside and then break it there won’t be a big mess and you can use gloves to push it out
CONGRATULATIONS 🎊 👏 💐 🥳 you finally got the truck! I thought they Stole the Dang car!
Junkyard superman Dave
Can’t wait to see it all done ! It’s going to be legit.
Maybe try opening the hatch manually from the inside. The emergency liftgate latch release can be accessed through a snap-in cover located on the liftgate trim panel.
That truck definitely rolled over.....

Another great build

Great content sending love support and respect from Boston 💯💖💙
Keep up the good work!
