Today I found a WILD Ram TRX crashed by rap legend Lil Durk at Copart salvage auction, unbeknownst to me, it's also been heavily armored! This is EASILY one of the weirdest cars I've ever found at the salvage auction...

It's a pain, sometimes you see a car and it runs at auction the next day, other times they're tied up with legal/title work and they sit for years.

For the durango, i have noticed copart is now labeling theft recovered hellcats as vandalism since they sometimes recover them without damage or minimal damage like broken window and the take off panels to disconnect the gps sometimes rip cables
That's because the Vins been altered so they put theft/ van.
Those impact marks on the front passenger side window of that Ram TRX are more likely where firefighter/police tried to gain entry and didnt know the windows were bullet proof.
No, somebody died in there. There was nobody to rescue.
Or someone famous rolled it and they were trying to get them out... that truck rolled a few times

Not an expert but that maybe a car that was used buy guys a little south of the US or people connect to a business that requires a bulletproof truck. And it actually makes a lot of sense that it’s gone missing. It won’t come back on a market, it’s just gone forever.

I bought a low mileage rolled Tacoma with the V6 and a 6-speed manual. Used a lift to straighten out the cab just enough to get glass back in it and sold it for damn near double the money. It looked awesome. Every single panel was damaged so there was not point in trying to make it pretty. Mint interior but wasted on the outside: literally the perfect truck.

@@TheBravo13x mechanically it was perfect and the interior was perfect as well but every panel was super damaged. The guy who bought it knew exactly what he was getting: a brand new Tacoma inside but a real shi*t show on the outside. Lol

I love the hellcat durangos, upsetting to see one sitting in a copart. Not a huge jeep fan, but its easy to appreciate a supercharged one. my dads been looking for a trx for as long as i can remember. Sick copart trip all in all!

Crash happened in Encino CA in Dec 2022. Looks like the TRX was going really fast and side swiped a tractor trailer head on, then went over on its side. The TRX actually came out better than the tractor trailer. You can find videos on RUclips of the crash scene.

Maaaan, that is one JANK-ass armor job, 100%. High cg and more weight on stock suspension, unarmored floor, engine not protected, no run-flats, stock roof and unarmored cab-rear... That's some dollar store/great value-style "hey, i know a guy that can do it cheaper" hackage.
That challenger red eye....that may not just be light front end damage. For one, i notice the engine looked slightly angled, which says it might have been pushed back. Once you get under it, look for marks on the front crossbeams. That may mean more damage and insurance companies use that as a criteria for totaling cars out....depends on the company. Engine looks clean, but there could very well be damage on the bottom end.
That bent rail tells me that there is more damage you cant see from there.
Thing is i see so many Challengers with front end damage. My first, an 09, suffered that fate, so im aware of how this works. Plus, a few friends who are car guys said it could be pulled, but it wont feel or drive the same way again. Maybe you can fix it and get it back to factory specs. Id love to see it.
Fyi, i got a carfax notice on my 09.....it was repaied/rebuilt and is owned by someone in Illinois. I wonder how they made out. Whoever rebuilt it put on a lot of mileage.

On that trx you WILL need a donor cab and bed, maybe the frame as well. My uncles 2018 silverado needed a bed, and cab it cost him around 8k at a shop

the bulletproof glass that you thought was bullet holes on it was just some crcks and bullet would do much more damage.
The coolant return line has been cut on the Trackhawk, hope you didn't idle it for too long ;)

It's just a PA system because you can't communicate with people outside the vehicle so I'm gonna assume a 2 way PA system was installed so the occupants don't have to open doors or crack windows to communicate. If you pay attention you can actually spot armored vehicles in every day traffic. More common then you'd think.
How tf did durk manage to flip this thing?
17:30 those marks are from someone trying to break in. My ford got broken into multiple times from that spot. Pierce a little hole and get access to the pull up knob or whatever its called

TRX has a Compustar fob on it too. Extra security. Would something like that or a kill switch be difficult to workaround ?

If it has a "hellcat" engine in it, its almost guaranteed to get wrecked, stolen or extremely tackily "modified". It seems that way at least. Btw, starting a vehicle with that much core support damage is not a brite idea.. more likely then not, someone put the keys away somewhere to keep from more damage occurring
When a tire is spun for extended periods of time they heat up and can get bubbles in them.😊
make a light weight armored panels for the rear bed and make it trophy truck style, that would be dope instead of a rear bed

It's not just the glass, they literally have armored panels everywhere either kevlar or steel. Not something easy to put back to stock.

The purple car I'm sure has significant undercarriage damage lt hit something while jumping a curb hence flat fronts n rear bumper cover caught ground on landing and popped it loose. That car definitely needs to be looked at the underside

Those windows blow out when you pull the escape handle. When you drive into water or get trapped there are explosive charges to blow the front and or back window out for you.
A spilled jug of milk can write a car off, especially in sunny states.
What happened to that hellcat happened to my mustang. I welded some stuff, bent some other things and fixed it. Luckily I don't have enough cash to get in on that auction 😭

I’m only 3 minutes in, but when you said Vandalism I automatically thought about fuel system sabotage through the fill line since there’s obviously no visible damage.
Like sugar in the gas tank.. or something anyways.

Frame is TRX specific (reinforced for going off-road)
Hellcat durango was just as covid was really hitting, the plant shut downs and planned axe of the model is why they are so rare. I think this past year they made one last hurrah to cash in on that rarity thing but after that the best we might see is a 500 HP straight six with hair dryers hanging off.

the jeep with the messed up windshield probably went to a shop after a wreck or something to get fixed, insurance accepted the quote then denied sending a check later before any work was done and so since they had already partially removed the windshield, when they left it outside, it got rained in.
