I bought the world's cheapest Dodge Viper, what could possibly go wrong?
Turns out a LOT! I knew when we won this Viper for $8,000 from Copart that it was going to be the roughest I'd ever salvaged, and it was EXACTLY that! But despite some horrendous damage, things turned out pretty good!

The owner's son crashed it in Dallas. He survived but was in very bad shape. I actually bought some coilovers from the owner since he wasn't able to install them.

those BBS LM faces are worth really good money. Many bolt patterns and offsets like this are long long discontinued and there are people who really want period correct wheels. If you have a few of the barrels in good shape it will go a long way. My experience for nice condition lips and barrels has been the BBS groups on facebook or Ebay.

@@Motorsportsgeek bio hazard is usually when someone dies in the car/someone did drugs in the car. Not when it also includes a wreck with the wreck they’ll just make the title a parts only title. Like that high end Porsche crash in Scottsdale az that killed the driver but the Porsche was sold with a parts only title and no mention of the owner death.
@@angelcelis9090 Well different countries may have different laws but any blood in a crashed car here you must declare it as bio hazard.
@@Motorsportsgeek are you in the uk? I heard most cars get parts only titles out there. I remember my first auction car you can clearly tell someone hit their head against the windshield and bled all over the console. Still had a clean title somehow even tho it was wrecked and clearly someone was injured.
I call the 96 Vipers gen 1.5 because you got the Momo steering wheel from gen 1 however they went to rear exhaust which is gen 2

the t56 center section is the same as the 93-02 fbody. the bell housing and tail housing are no big deal

Oooff. I bought a low mileage f150 that hit a pole dead centre and the front of the engine looked a lot like that and after days of pissing around trying to figure out why it ran like shit I realized the crank snout get bent just enough to let the timing chain to jump.

My father in law was in a wreck like that when he was in his twenties. He's shown me the pictures and the steering wheel was bent exactly the same as this one. He said he just held onto it for dear life and had no injuries from it, not even any pain 😮 Must have been a huge adrenalin rush or something?!
You should swap the engine into that ram truck behind you
I havr to correct you on the back window, it is glass, not lexan. The lexan you found in it was probably an aftermarket door glass.
Me. I don't know that much about the cars. I have red hot rod magazines of the Viper parts. The Viper parts were very useful, including the proper disassembly. And sorting out all the parts on the table, including the transmission is very viable. I've been told because it is usable with Chevy and Ford parts. The tail assembly and the bell housing can be used with a Ford. And Chevy park and be really useful so it's still viable, though. It comes out of A. Dodge Viper, no Dodge Viper par that you can see the Van V10 with 450 horsepower. I've been told it is still a good engine and Dodge does not make a lot of parts for these cars. It's one of those things where a lot of people are going to like to use it. The Dodge Viper shell that's one thing that I remembered was just 1 simple thing. There in a conversation that. The rivets along the side there. When you guys were using the sauce. All can't be bought. But what you can do is use the new studs in there and replace those as a lot of usable parts in there. And that's what I used to do. Didn't know much about cars. And I still learn things about cars so Dodge Viper. I've never had too many of those but know that some of these parts are worth a lot of money still online, even if you sell it eBay, Amazon or any other auction site or just straight out personal sale or business sale But like I said, for a lot of hot rotters. The transmission in the Viper transmission and assembly. That's gonna be worth some money. Because they will use all of that. I've seen this in hot rod magazine. I've seen it in rat rotting. I've seen it in all kinds of different cars. Rat rods rust buckets rattle traps putting the V10 in a rat rod. And then those headers that look like they go out through the side and down for the side pipes. They'll actually order some parts and make them go out like zombies. I've been told that they're called zombies because they go up on the outside of the car straight up. I've seen them in traffic myself.
I'd love to see you get a 2000 Pontiac Firebird TransAm and put a nice engine in it. I was never able to get one and it's always been a dream of mine to have one.
Dumb question, but ill be that guy. As a retired LEO and fellow Challenger guy, do auctions disclose if the car was involved in a fatal crash? Or would those not be allowed for auction? Thanks. Love the channel.

I can't believe you sold your soul for a Copart Sponsorship... They have a $99 recurring membership fee ON TOP of basically doubling the final price of the car from the end bid by drowning you in various fees. Say your final bid on a car is $1000. You can expect to pay $1950 BEFORE shipping costs, which can tack on another couple hundred depending on your distance from the yard
Just had my first copart experience. Car was 950. Paid 1675 total all said and done. Car is absolutely trashed way worse than pictures showed and it doesn't run at all even though it said run and drive. And no it's not a battery problem it has zero fuel pressure. I could go on about the delivery but yeah not impressed
@@jeffreyshepherd8488 Yep, pretty much all their cars say "Runs and Drives" but they have a convenient little disclaimer that they have no guarantees that the car is anything like the description. Very shady, you can't trust anything on the website
Looking at the steering wheel and the windshield as an EMT in my professional opinion it looks like someone was either ejected or lilled in this car.

The car had a faster run in the mile the next day at the Texas mile. It is in a video someone posted a link to in the comments.
1995 was the last gen 1, 1996 was technically a gen 1.5 and the last year of no door handles and removable windows.
You should put a viper engine in a Dodge charger or challenger
Google Viper crash Dallas Texas. Viper crashed into a Camaro. Driver and occupant survived. Said family of 4 was driving Camaro and the Viper traveling at a high rate of speed hit the back of it.
