- Here's a massage technique you can use to encourage drainage of fluid from the middle ear. It works by massaging the Eustachian tube, a tube that connects the ear to the back of the throat.
I wish i had this pediatrician for my son. Such a nice and gentle doctor!
I just did this on my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter who is writhing in pain, I just gently rubbed it for about a minute and now she's up and jumping around and eating and laughing. Thank you so much! I will be sharing this with all of my friends.

Indian and Middle Eastern doctors are the best. They have such good voices and mannerism. Every time I come across one I know I will be cared for and will receive great treatments.

A very simple technique but what is fantastic is that you took the time to show the patient/parent how to do this extra step for the relief of pain and also posted a video to help others.Your bed side manner is awesome. I think many other doctors could learn from this. Being a doctor should be about caring for people's health and well being, you have demonstrated this perfectly. Thank you
Almost forgot to mention that Dr. Tahir has have some of the GREATEST BEDSIDE MANNER I HAVE EVER SEEN! The man can put even the most frightened, sick, or anxious child at ease with his soft spoken tone!! This video is literally the greatest definition of how to deal with pediatric medicine.
I just tried that on myself and it seems to help alleviate the pressure. I would love for this man to be my doctor...and I am 55.
he he he ... im 70 and it helped.... but just a little... my ENT gave me amoxicillin for 10 days and then an appt for an ear drain... my insurance pays it ($450)

I'm a flight attendant & have had fluid trapped in my ears for months & months now which causes so much pain when the plane descends due to the pressure and this helped me drain some of it today! I cannot thank you enough Dr T!!!!

same! My ears would hurt too as soon as the aircraft began its descend. Later on, i was diagnosed with Acute Otitis Media, it’s a middle ear infection. I had to leave my job due to that & DNS (Deviated Nasal Septum) for which doctor suggested septoplasty.

I’m pretty tolerant when it comes to pain, but this ear infection has got to me bad the past couple days. This massage technique is helping with the discomfort so much, I can tell my ear feels a little less clogged, but definitely helping with pain and discomfort
I swear even me. I almost drove myself to the hospital until I found this out and by also gently pulling the ear lobes down. I can finally get sleep

Same here. I get an ear infection every year during summer and this really helped with the pain.
I used to get absolutely horrible chronic ear infections as a child, they thought I would need tubes but thankfully I didn't but my balance is forever messed up because of it. Was never able to learn how to ride a bike. But, I wonder if these massages would have helped at all. I remember the pain being so bad that I would be in tears.
This along with popping my ears has just stopped me crying, woke up at 5am in agony and thank God I found these videos.

It works!!! My 6 year old woke up in the middle of the night from ear pain。I gave him ibuprofen and kept massaging him. The pain went away in the morning .

Great video. I have 2 comments; I know that some kids get recurring ear infections because they have allergy to dairy products(milk, etc). I tried this same massage with a low power vibrator, and it worked very fast.

As a current last year Medical School student I’ve learned a TON of information from a couple different Doctor Channels & those are Dr. Tahir & Dr. Paul. If I had to physically show how much knowledge I’ve learned from them over the past few years it would undoubtedly be 3 of the large textbooks that you see at Universities worldwide! If you’ve never seen any large textbook from a University a simple google search will be all you need.
You're a life saver! We just went from screaming to whining. I'll take it!!! I used a heating pad for about 10 minutes first then I did the massage! A-frickin'-mazing!
Do this massage. I’ve had my ears filled with fluid literally for almost 2 years. I’ve been prescribed all kinds of medicine and nothing works. This gave me so much relief in only about 2 minutes. Will be doing this multiple times per day.

I have dysfunctional eustachian tubes and this helped me a shit ton literally after a couple of rubs. This doctor knows his stuff pretty well.
Ive also had my left eustachian tube feel like it has fluid in it for 2 years. Did you fix it with this?
@@lp5398 a good dr would not allow that to happen. They would have surgically drained it. Simple outpatient. That stuff would have gotten severely infected and you could of died from sepsis.
Here because I need instant relief! It’s 3am & I’m in pain! swimmers ear infection.. this helped ALOT! I reached for the closest oil, baby oil & did it myself. Thank you! (It doesn’t get rid of it but IT DOES WORK! helping me get back to sleep. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I get pretty chronic congestion in right eustachian tube. I'm now doing this and can feel it seems to encourage drainage which is great! Better than any steroid sprays or nasal washes I've ever used. 👍

I'm here again, 4 years later - with fluid in my ears. The Nurse recommended Sudafed, but I'm not feeling any relief yet - it's only been a few days. I thought I'd search for your video again....thank you x
Thank you Dr, just starting this method, on antibiotic spray again and it doesn't help much. Had earache for years before and Dr's said my ear was fine, the pain wasn't though, it took years to get better. Just got it again recently, it's a bit of relief to do this technique but my lower jaw hurts too as well as inside my ear, especially if I pull on it. I hope the massage helps make the pain go quicker.

See a doctor. They can help your tubes with thin rods if it doesn't go away.

Came across this by accident. Have been battling a sinus infection and now my left ear is clogged, swollen, and painful. Still on antibiotics. This gave me some relief from the pain. I was surprised when it let up enough that I can be some what comfortable. I've been taking Tylenol and Aleve and nothing was touching the pain.
This is amazing, haven't been able to sleep tonight because of ear infection pain so I'm literally just sitting here waiting for CVS to open for my prescription. Tried this technique, instant pain relief. (not total pain relief, but I was straight up groaning with pain before I watched this video)

OH MY GOODNES DR. TAHIR! As a teacher of young kids (but with none of my own), I pride myself also on having a gentle and calm manner. HOWEVER, my own ears have been driving me crazy these past 2-3 years --- excess wax (need to have them cleaned out by my GP's nurse) and a kind of crackling when I chew and yawn. ANYWAY, I tried the above, and *everything* improved overnight - including the crackling (I can even hear a bit better, lol) - I like that the massage technique could also work as a kind of maintenance trick, without me having to put olive oil drops or any kind of drops into the ears (I go a bit deaf while the drops take hold, and as someone who needs ears for my job, and as someone who can't sleep while suffering temporary deafness from the drops, I must say I LOVE this technique - no need to put anything IN the ears). i was leasing to music with handsite one ear and i fall to sleep , when i wake up i lost hearing more than 95% of this ear,and 5% from borne because i test my hearing by block it with my finger then i release it i found no different same level that can you hear it when you block your normal ear .

Eustachian tube clear i can feel the drum when i blow my noise in my both ears
but i have load tinnitus consistently in my ear side
i take a lot of medic and vitamins and antibiotic for blood cyclization now for a month with no progress

I've been suffering from an ear infection and rather painful lymph node swelling for two days. Even using anti-inflammatory ear drops and painkillers, I could not sleep.
I tried this last night and what a difference it makes! I could finally sleep! I used a microfiber washcloth because I have a large beard, and after a few passes, the process gets very smooth as skin oils build up on the cloth.
Same my whole ear is swollen and my lymph node but nothing is helping :( and I can’t sleep
