I am having trouble here. I have followed your instructions line by line and unfortunately I keep running into this issue when I try deleting the 2 rig. When I delete the 2nd rig, it blows up huge and lays flat and then my primary animation no longer works. Has anyone else experienced this? Looking for some help here as a new Mixamo and Blender user. The first and second animation are facing the opposite direction in the NLA system. I selected the hip rig of one of the animation and rotated it to match, but the animation has become a little wonky. So i rotated the entire object in object mode but now both animations have rotated and still don't match. Is there a way to rotate one of the rigs on the z-axis without messing up the animation?? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!
hey, i've been following this guide and it's grand, only when i add the second track with shift a, the first animation stops working and just freezes to the first frame of the second animation, it's not in rest pose and i've check the timeline to start to both correctly but it refuses to play the first animation. any clue on it?
Doesn't work for me in 3.2 When I follow the steps, when I end up importing the 2nd action the 2nd animation not working as the figure remains frozen after the 1st animation plays :( any ideas would be great... UPDATE Works in 2.9 must be a bug in 3.2

For some reason I couldn’t make a new track and import it because it had. No animation and it so I created it via different mesh and can only use the same track instead of over lapping like shown how can I fix ?

if im not mistaken , you can always export fbx without the mesh but only take the animation. This will make your export from mixamo faster. BTW this is cool tutorial :).

When I move second animation into place on the graph editor it creates an animation what slides into that position before playing the rest of the animation. Any idea how to resolve this? Thanks.
i tried now several times with different options... everytime i add a walk animation to an idle animation my charackter turns 90° and the arms goes through the body like n "x" .. any ideas? :/
Doing this with skinless armatures does not work. When I reach the stage where you SHIFT+A to add the animation from the other (deleted) armature, the rotation of the animations is messed up. Is there anyway this can also work for skinless Mixamo exports?

You could always make sure your armature is selected then go up to the dropdown menu and select pose mode from the regular menu (next to view_select_pose) then click pose-then animation-then bake action. My bake action doesn't show in the search menu for some reason so that is my work around.
For anyone wanting to know just press F3 while in pose mode to bring up the search menu now type in bake .....then choose Pose ..animation bake....booom
recently when I upload the FBX file into blender, the model is locked at a certain size and location and I would have to change individually for each keyframe. any way to fix this?
A little late but I was having the same problem until I went into timeline and made a keyframe for the moved character and kept it in the same position on the moved x axis.

Dunno what's going on...but downloading without skin in Mixamo it's messing up the model. To solve this, apparently, to be downloading everytime with skin.
Cool, I didn't think to go there; I usually parent to an empty and reposition as you did, using the foot or toe, then animate the empty, and blend after. I think you've got the elegant and sophisticated solution.
When I delete the second import I am left with the remaining geo. The model pops. I do the edit tabs to move the second position in and line and go back to the non linear graph and now my first rig moves away from the 2nd. How do you fix that?

Oh I figured it out! Click on the second action, hit N to open the side panel, and then click on the "Strip" tab on the side. Then change the extrapolation to "Nothing".
Great tutorial but I have a question, when I import the Mixamo Animation into blender the animation is there it loads in however there aren't any keyframes, just the animation, do you know a fix?
It's a great video perfect tempo and I love all of it except it doesn't work for me on my M1 mac and Blender 3.2 maybe I can find a way to just extend the walk and add the 180° turn but again different them a PC. I'll keep searching!

It just happens that I'm using an animation from idle-to-running that points in a direction while the running animation I'm trying to combine with is pointing in another, so is there a way to combine them? I actually managed to kinda do it by rotating the root bone in the transition but with this I lose the chance to use the Blend In/Out, anyone knows a way around it? (I tried rotating the running anim separately but once i add it to the NLA it always inherits it's original orientations).

you can also select both actions if they are separated and click add transition to smooth it out.

What about having a walking animation continue past what Mixamo will create?

I had the same issue. This works in 3.1, but not in 3.2. I found that whichever animation was on top would work, but the ones below would not.

thanks for the tutorial, when I bake 2 animations, it only shows Y pose for some reason.
found it, when baking, uncheck only selected bones, keeping it for people who may have the same issue.

Adding the first action is fine, but as soon as I add the second one the tracking is all off and limbs are out of place. Is there a reason for this?
Oh I figured it out! Click on the second action, hit N to open the side panel, and then click on the "Strip" tab on the side. Then change the extrapolation to "Nothing".

You didn't mentionHOW to open the properties panel. Had to look at another video to get that one bit of informatin.
For anyone else with this problem once the top layer is selected just press "N" on your keyboard and that should open the properties panel
