Hi Cory it's nice to see somebody analysing an exercise to make it a more productive exercise instead of just saying that the exercise is not a good exercise your content is always of good value stay safe and healthy
This is perfect, I was always afraid of doing these because my low back always hurt. Then I realized that I was "smashing" my back against the floor and then I stopped doing that but I was still afraid, now with this video I'm going to do the sit-up your way. Thanks!
I did them incorrectly for decades, which hurt my back and is why I stopped. Now I know I can start with the modification & go from there. You make everything look so easy :-) but also show us the correct form which so, so important. Thank you!
OMGG I'm so blessed to have found you!!!! Your info is Just SO well, INFORMATIVE! And explained so thoroughly! I've been working my way through your content for the past week and you've taught me SO SO much!!
Such a great video! Thank you. Love your explanations and videos showing us the wrong and the right way to do each exercise! Powerful, helpful and informative.
Great points! It’s so helpful that you break down the moves and provide the tips. Thank you! Ps. My goodness, you make pull-ups look so easy! For me, they are quite the opposite...can do about four of them (that’s it!) but not nearly as gracefully as you!
This goes against everything I was every told about sit ups. "Always maintain neutral spine S Curve!". I never do full sit ups, so at least I was not hurting myself :)
This is exactly what I needed. I’ve been waking every morning with terrible back pain and was told I have weak an muscles to support it. That all the an work I’d been doing was being done wrong. Thanks for the easy to understand instruction on the move and how to shut off my hip flexors!
Thank you so much. I thought I would never be able to do a sit-up again in my life. I actually took all the tips you gave me and I instantly sat up. I can’t believe it! Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙏🏼
Great advice, by following them I can feel the sit ups getting harder, but I'm so glad I'll do them correctly from now on, so I can get stronger! Thank you so much!
Great tips! I practice yoga, where we concentrate on rolling up/down one vertebrae at a time. Extending the arms while seated are a great way to engage the core. Try (while seated, legs straight) touching your toes, then slowly raising your hands above your head and sit up straight. Then slowly return to touching toes. Engaging your core also protects your back during the forward bend.
Thank you always for the content you make. I do sit ups with a free weight, bringing it over head like a skull crusher and then moving back towards my knees as I come up. It feels really good for my core. Is this method okay?
What about variations like bicycles, Russian twists, etc to target obliques or full body crunches, etc to target other ab muscles? How do we incorporate more thoughtful and effective movement into those and other variations?
Any advice for those of us who are relatively strong in many other abs exercises but cannot do an unsupported sit up ? Is it a matter of simple physics ie mass of legs insufficient to counteract mass of upper body ?
Can you have wranglers start linking technique videos when giving feedback. I always forget these exist and they are so helpful, even if each body is a little different. They give such great cueing information.
Do you recommend never holding weight while doing them? Or if you do how do you recommend positioning say a medicine ball? Can I lift it over my head and sit up as long as I'm not swinging?
Your fur babies are soooo cute! Good info on sit ups. I was wondering why all the wrong muscle felt like they were getting a workout instead of my abs. I will work on this proper form.
Hi Cory it's nice to see somebody analysing an exercise to make it a more productive exercise instead of just saying that the exercise is not a good exercise your content is always of good value stay safe and healthy
Thank you!
I really appreciate the focus on proper form so many times we just rush through. I will try these tips. Thanks!!
1. Don't sit up, roll up
2. Drive your heals down into the ground
3. Don't swing your arms overhead
This is perfect, I was always afraid of doing these because my low back always hurt. Then I realized that I was "smashing" my back against the floor and then I stopped doing that but I was still afraid, now with this video I'm going to do the sit-up your way. Thanks!
These 'issues with exercise form' videos are a great format. You always have great detail and a cue(s) I didn't know
Absolutely love your excellent and informative videos . So helpful
Thank you sooo much for those valuable tips. I will apply them immediately.
Thanks for sharing this. I use these cues all the time. Its good to know that I'm on the right path.
Wow!!! This is so interesting. I’d never thought of rolling up versus sitting up. Thanks Cori. Super awesome info.
I did them incorrectly for decades, which hurt my back and is why I stopped.
Now I know I can start with the modification & go from there.
You make everything look so easy :-) but also show us the correct form which so, so important. Thank you!

Can't wait to try out these tips. Never hear them before so I really appreciate them. Cheers!
2 pups now great, adorable ❤️👍. Great video & explanation ,thank u 👍👍
Thank you! I knew I was doing them wrong, I just didn't know exactly how I was doing them wrong or how to fix it. ❤
Never seen it broken down this specifically. Very helpful! Thx, Corey!
I make a few of the mistakes you mentioned. I’ll do better from now on!
Glad the tips help!
Such amazing tips, so helpful, it's like now I get it right
Thanks Cori! All hints taken onboard and to be used during my next workout. Great video as always. :)
Thank you for these awesome tips I will use them in my next workout.
Glad they help!
I happened upon this channel and so glad I did! Excellent form in showing the exercise and detailed explanations.
Such a great video! Thank you. Love your explanations and videos showing us the wrong and the right way to do each exercise! Powerful, helpful and informative.
Great tips, thanks. Placing one's heels right up against the glutes is also very isolating, taking the hip flexors almost out of the movement.
Okay I will try pushing my heels into the mat as resistance. Thanks for that tip. Because I was flopping like a fish out of water 😎.
Never realized that people didn't use proper form. I've been doing them for 50 years and I guess I was trained correctly back then.
Excellent, changing the way I do situps right now.
Not too long and not short and great info.
This is a great video. Thanks
New to your channel! I love your approach to exercise and the importance of mind - body connection!
Thanks, it's important to know how to get the basics right!
Great lesson. Perfect AUDIO.
Thank you Cori♥️. Great tips . I never knew . Always thought faster better . Oh look, now there's two of them....so adorable little doggies 💞
Yes now there's two :-)
Another great explanation and demo of how to do a move.I'm going to have a go later. 😊👌🏼💪
Great points! It’s so helpful that you break down the moves and provide the tips. Thank you!
Ps. My goodness, you make pull-ups look so easy! For me, they are quite the opposite...can do about four of them (that’s it!) but not nearly as gracefully as you!
This video was a game changer. When I followed your instructions I realized I've been doing it wrong. ✌🤘
Always quality content .thank you Cori ❤
Fantastico! I will be sure to teach them like this from now on! Go Cory! Go doggies!
This goes against everything I was every told about sit ups. "Always maintain neutral spine S Curve!". I never do full sit ups, so at least I was not hurting myself :)

Aw yay! So glad the tips helped!
Thank you. Will include these three tips when doing roll up.
Going to go practice better form now. Thanks!
Thank you! Big help 👏👏😊
Great advice, by following them I can feel the sit ups getting harder, but I'm so glad I'll do them correctly from now on, so I can get stronger! Thank you so much!
Yes BUT now you're maximizing the movement to get more out of it :-)
@@redefiningstrengthOC Oh, definitely!

Great reminder about pushing heals into the ground.
I too made some mistake s thank u soo much for mentioning them and correcting us!!!!! 😇😇😇needed this
Thank you
Epic! Thanks a lot, Cori
Thank you!
You're the Best!!!
I'll try these on my next sit-up day which will be this coming Friday. My hip flexors just love to do all the work.
Really helpful 😊
Very innovative 🙏🙏
Hi Cori! Good day... 👍👊💪
You too!!
What about curling ur toes under sofa or bed to get u grip and some stability when sit up? Love ur tips - one vertebrae at a time!
It all makes sense... 👍
Thank you for posting this. I was just asking about the proper way just yesterday.🌎
Glad it helps!
Are you supposed to extend your spine when you reach the top? Great video btw. Thanks
Finding this channel = game changer
Omg never heard these - gonna try them 🙌
Thank you always for the content you make. I do sit ups with a free weight, bringing it over head like a skull crusher and then moving back towards my knees as I come up. It feels really good for my core. Is this method okay?
Hi. What kind of shoes you are wearing? I really like it.
Could you make a video of your gym setups, all equipments, their cost and the sources you got them from, please?
What about variations like bicycles, Russian twists, etc to target obliques or full body crunches, etc to target other ab muscles? How do we incorporate more thoughtful and effective movement into those and other variations?
Any advice for those of us who are relatively strong in many other abs exercises but cannot do an unsupported sit up ? Is it a matter of simple physics ie mass of legs insufficient to counteract mass of upper body ?
Did some googling and found this fatchfitness.com/the-situp-and-why-you-cant-sit-all-the-way-up/
interesting
It is so important to have the right technique, RD is serious when you know she focus on it.
Love the tip to dig in with my heels.
Can you have wranglers start linking technique videos when giving feedback. I always forget these exist and they are so helpful, even if each body is a little different. They give such great cueing information.
Would you look at that - I can do sit ups! You made my day!
Do you recommend never holding weight while doing them? Or if you do how do you recommend positioning say a medicine ball? Can I lift it over my head and sit up as long as I'm not swinging?
Where can I get your cookbook??
Embarrassed by how much I needed this info.
Right??!!😬
I don’t think you are the only one!
Best Channel ever :-)
Your fur babies are soooo cute! Good info on sit ups. I was wondering why all the wrong muscle felt like they were getting a workout instead of my abs. I will work on this proper form.
Glad the tips help!
Do we have to come up from the ground?
Great truth
Ty
Hi there. Any advice on how not to strain my neck while doing sit ups and similar abs workouts? Great to see your puppies. Always enjoy seeing them😊
Make sure you're not jutting your head forward. Stacking or creating a "double chin" so you aren't straining can often be a key cue.
@@redefiningstrengthOC thanks I will try that and thanks for taking the time to reply.
is it Ok to push the feet against the wall?
What are those shoes?

Thanks Jesse! Glad they help!
What do I do if I hurt my tail bone years ago and can’t fully roll up
What kind of dogs do you have? We have a maltese but his hair is straighter. 😊
