Honestly I like MMODs just a little bit more. Sound design and the HEV arms look a lot more rugged. Although BM's Tau Cannon is a lot better.
Think MMod uses a higher poly version of the beta Tau cannon
BM's τ-cannon is a scientific tool. In HL2 τ-cannon is made of garbage and blue duct tape. I like both, but differently

Black Mesa's weapon animation is like a father with a son's body.
MMod's weapons animation is like a son who has a mature body as much as his father.
Makes sense, seeing as how Gordon is just a man out of his element in hl1/Black Mesa and not a revered supersoldier.
Well BM is the mark IV and MMOD is the mark V suit. One is factory new, the other was made by rebels.
It's cool to see Half-Life 2's gritty style compared to Black Mesa's close to realism style.

Good gunplay is when you want to use the pistol again, and MMod delivers in that department greatly!

But mmod has the dynamic style
The reason being is :
In black mesa : gordon is still very new to firearm in general, even if he has gone through hazardous course, his knowledge with fire arms is still very limited
In mmod : you are looking at a man spend half of his life running and gunning, repeat the whole process over and over angain
Overall, i love half life and it entire modding community so both of these are very good animation

@@forgotmyname1242 MMOD doesn't really change models though, just improves graphics, adds some extra effects, and some weapons. Really it's still pretty vanilla
I mean, not really. MMod works because it's taking an already older game and then spruces it up, improving the visuals and enhancing the gameplay to bring it to modern standards.
_Black Mesa_ is a full on remake of an even older game, and already has all the bells and whistles that MMod has anyway, and looks even better. There's not really anything an MMod version of BM could bring to the table.
@@HappyMan0203 That is true. I mean, pretty much the only thing that could get added is maybe a few extra weapons, like dismountable guns and extra particles.

Actually, this is coming from someone who played both games extensively. I really like Black Mesa, though the gunplay only got a little bit better than hl2 thanks to a few improvements. But it's still the same hitscan combat that we're already used to. MMod however really improves upon that, the gunplay is made much more dynamic and fun, to a point where even using the pistol is fun, especially when you turn on the bullet physics in the settings, which is weirdly set to disabled by default. It gets rid of the hitscan and makes bullets become real projectiles. There's something really badass about feeling the weapons having actual ballistics in a game, and it really shows how much it improves combat in a game like half-life. Black Mesa's animations might look more cleaner and desirable than MMod, but I think it's more about the actual gameplay. BM's gunplay can get tiring after a while, especially after you replay the hl2 games with MMod. The feeling of firing a shotgun is uncomparable.
I preferred HL2 mmod's gunplay better than BM
MMOD revolver was like BANG when Black mesa revolver was like SLAP
Black mesa has satisfying sounds and better reload animations
MMod seems to do the right thing with the revolver, as the hammer does move, but not exactly when it should.
The MMod pistol somehow slides back its slide without being empty, which makes no sense.
And the double fire also makes no sense, because you would need 3 "barrels"(one holds the shells) and a bigger bolt/2 bolts. Again, this is done to entertain the players.

Considering mmod is a mod of half life 2 and black mesa the considered remake of half life there's a big difference.
This mod is amazing, Found it today, was a bit complicated to download it but its awesome. Black Mesa so far I bought it in november and played aboth 40 hours and in terms of weaponery some of them are really feel nice But not all of them and the ones that are like the shotgun and glock arent near the satisfaction that MMod brings, you can just not compare it, try to play the updated half life with this, its freaking crazy how Im not getting bored from a game that Ive played like 86 hours probably 7 times...
Black Mesa is about recreacting a freaking 90s game in crazy way... Just look at Xen, shooting is just not the greatest there and its alright..
What is not alright is the level design sometimes, that doesnt have excuse.
But it have very nice weapon remakes, and style.. yes some of them are broken like the Tau cannon being a bit lame and this freaking aim interference.
Im still not sure if they had the time to work on it when theyve being focusing on building the goddamn game!
MMOD, is just all about gameplay and guns and shooting and balancing... Its literally the only reason it was made so of course its going to out class black mesa, When its Goal was to out class as much games as they could in a one thing, only one thing.
Black Mesa is a freaking entire game yet suppose to remake another game was built from scratch... MMod wasnt, and it still took couple of years to devalop hint why its going to be so good.
But if you really play black mesa its still going to be amazed, and be entertained from the bigger picture, I deffinetly recomend both
yeah, obviously. Combat in BM did get a bit of an improvement with the newer source engine, though it can still feel...boring after a while? Once you fired the shotgun a hundred times you notice it doesn't really feel that good. But MMod, man, every gun feels amazing. I think there was this option called bulelt-realtime or something which is turned off by default, it gets rid of hitscan and makes all of your bullets become actual projectiles that get affected by distance and the environment. It just adds so much juice to the combat that it never stops being fun. I hope that one day, BM will also get a mod similar to MMod.

i never got to play the original HL1 and 2, i played Black Mesa first then after that i installed MMod on my HL2 to feel consistent

It has low fps? I didn't notice that, I recorded the clips in 60FPS, I don't know what happened there, the game runs smooth while I record it.
