Hi Danny glad to see your so happy and yes I can see it on your face and it’s so nice to see how you put so much into your garden, I wish I could do all that and then the things you all get to work with is so amazing like the guttering cover the little ball to stop the leaves, Danny you think of everything that’s great can’t remember seeing the stove and kettle on the plot 👍❤❤
A great fruit cage and well def help protect that fruit. Look how easy it went up after all the practise you had helping me with mine lol. It might look dominant now on the fig and olive, but remember once it has plants you wont even notice it.
Hi Danny! The plot is coming right along, love the fruit cage. I was searching for new videos to check out the other day and came across Farmyard Garden. I liked her immediately and then she mentioned you and I thought “there’s my sign”😊!! Peace-
Hi Danny, great to see your fruit cage in all it's glory. It will be a great place to grow and protect your fruit. The polytunnel is coming on lovely and gives you somewhere to sit and listen to the rain (ooops I mean birdsong 😂) I wonder if you could make your staging from the polytunnel removable to use as hardening off tables outside as the plants reach that stage. Then maybe use as a potting on table later. Then they would return to the polytunnel again when it is time for seed sowing. Or use them as shelving for empty pots as you sow the plants outside. These shelves could be used in the shed or an area undercover but outside somewhere. Maybe that's helpful, or maybe that idea is as welcome as that bl**dy mole! 🤔 As always, thanks for all the work behind the scenes to bring us along to your allotment with you. Take care, have a great week ahead xx
Hi dsnny I just gone and got a allotment and come across you yesterday I am liking your videos and I went all way back from the start when u started ur channel great job hopefully I get like this but it's a learning curve for me
Hey David! Ahh how amazing! Thank you for watching mg videos! The live tomorrow at 7pm is all about starting an allotment !!! Try and tune in or watch on the recap :) goodluck with your plot and enjoy every moment of it! The start is always the most tiring but rewarding! Danny 🌱
You’ll soon fill that lovely new fruit cage. Maybe have raised beds for raspberries to reduce the risk of them spreading. You have some great idea going forward for the plot /channel and cant wait to see the shed build will be lovely.
Hi Danny the 70year young rascal lol. What you learning is great from skill share it is marvelous, I'm learning gardening since 5years young learnt from trial error 🎉 never been good on computers lol tfs sylvi
Another fab video update Danny ❤ So many big things happening on your plots. The fruit bushes are going to look amazing all planted up in that fruit cage. A coffee live would be fun, another excuse to have coffee without doing any work 😂 Exciting times with all the developments, can't wait to see how it all progresses. See you tomorrow for yet another coffee ☕☕😂
Lovely surprise to see a vlog on a Wednesday! Fruit cage looks great! So much going on for you; exciting times! Have you got a name for the new plot yet? Have i missed that? X
It was a cheeky treat wasn't it! I'll try and do more over winter to keep you all entertained. I've still not got a name..I'll reveal it in February once it's all done....
Ooh, fab having this extra video, this week. It is most appreciated. Thank you.he plot is coming along great, Danny. Loving what you are doing/ plan to do. Happy gardening :-)
That cage looks good buddy! Not that I have a council plot any longer, but there was talk at a recent council meeting about banning netting! WTF? Surely that would be forcing plot-holders towards a chemical deterrent way of gardening - you could not make this up!
@@TheGrowUpChannelit’s that flimsy netting that birds, snakes, ect get tangled up in, but it looks like you had that heavier netting. I have that fine tangly stuff and it’s a bear. Gets caught on glasses and don’t dare wear buttons around it😅. As long as netting is tight it’s fine. We’ve had a snake get caught in the fine netting laying on ground 🙄
Fruit cage looks fantastic 👏 you know the tables that have smaller tables or chairs that slide I underneath what about something similar on the side or back of the shed. Where they can slide in n out when needed or not.
Hard work, but you and your brother-in-law did a good job and the weather looked good. One of the ✅ on to do list. Just the bush planting left 😉😉😅and new shed, ..... 📝 🤔✍📝. Thank you for sharing🙏👍🍀🍁🍃 Are you still a little stiff in the knee, after your misstep? Me, in week 12 with leg-knee orthosis and crutches or wheelchair for longer walks (groceries shopping), but it's getting better.
Hi Danny, The fruit cage looks brilliant. You will have that filled in no time. Maybe you could build some legs and ledges on the outside of your new shed. So you can have your staging go on there in the summer to use as bench space, then back in the polytunnel for the winter. If you can work out how to have your bench legs removable, then you will only need to store the legs in the winter. 😊
Fruitcage is a brilliant addition to the Fig & Olive Plot. You’ll soon things it’s not huge, as I know I went from thinking mine was massive to now wanting to double up on it! 😂 Great work and I’m with you on the gate catch being a bit disappointing. I think having the staging on the crop bars when not in use isn’t a big deal. The area is full of wood now anyway, and still looks light enough in there. Fixing in to outdoor shelves is not a bad idea, but will you really need that shelving over summer anyway? Decisions.. I know you’ll make the right one for you and your growing space. Podcast sounds interesting
That's true! I have some plans for the staging. Thankfully all the same size so I've got a good idea for them 😊 really happy with the fruitcage. Thanks clare! Danny 🌱
Wow it’s like Kew Gardens ❤, you’ll never be able to use the word posh with anyone else 😂😂. Great update, sorry just got back from roofing the other half of Gerald’s tractor 🚜 shed, Jackie 🥶🇨🇦
The fruit cage looks great! It will look even better when bursting with fresh fruit. We moved our fruit plants in spring from a bed to big pots. Firstly they looked like they had died, but we made good use of the empty bed over summer. The plants have survived and have started producing fruit, so I have big expectations for next year. We won't make that mistake again and move plants at the right time!
Nice fruit cage Danny. Very big. You could get Charlie in there to scary the moles off. Be a little play pen until you get the fruit in. :o) You need like one of those wall racks that you get for ladders and put it on the back of the shed to keep them off the ground. Or get folding tables like Eli and Kate have that you can use for potting outdoors in the summer? Either that or make bespoke tables that you can stack on a frame for shelving. Was looking at the skill share website and i couldn't find how much the membership is after the trial? Are you doing anything for Halloween? We just carved a pumpkin and just finishing off making a ghost costume. Door is decorated and sweets and chocolates are ready. Have a lovely rest of the week.
It's huge now but wait until those fruit bushes start expanding, I expect you have that factored in. We had problems with a fruit cage door but was holes in the 'flipping' netting that caused problems.
Hi Danny, i have the exact same fruit cage from first tunnels! Its brilliant! I use a cable tie that reopens to close my door. But, would like to know, what you could suggest what cpukd be a stronger, easy open solution 😊 another great video. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
As much as a love a gadget, nothing I live more than putting my hands in free soil and planting. Gardening has many budgets. Most importantly, enjoy it 🌱
@ I thought I watched one where you said the garden centre who owned the site had sold up and you weren’t sure if the new owners would keep the allotments?
@ oh !!! Yes!!! I’ve obviously been binging too many vlogs and getting bits mixed up! I did wonder when I watched your poly tunnel go up (ps envy) … 🤣🤣🤣
Potting bench make a frame and use the staging. That’s if it comes out when you use an outdoor bench. You could have a top and under shelf for pots. Maybe put sealant on the wood to make it longer lasting???? Dead jealous of the fruit cage Danny dead jealous.
Can’t wait for this election 🤬 to be OVER!! Trying to enjoy the vid and I’m slammed with ads. You can’t escape it. Everyone has PTSD or close to it. It’s the worst time I’ve ever witnessed-the worst. Anyhow, you really are moving along! I managed to get trays and pots cleaned finally before the snow. It’s unusual to have 80F this late as we should be 40-50. Just a few more things to do and maybe can refurbished the greenhouse. Ugh, and leaves to do yet. I’m not sure what the staging stuff is, but maybe you could add a lean-to roof off the shed. That’s what we have done as I have a lot of pots, ect that I want out of the sun and there’s no room in the shed. Another reason was to keep them from holding water and places for mosquitoes to breed. Enjoyed the vid despite the ads and pray things go well over here next Tuesday and beyond. Nice fruit cage 🌝👍 After the doves got all my blueberries this year I'm going to use the frame of my old polytunnel as a fruit cage next year.
Thank you! Oh, that's a great idea to repurpose your tunnel! Danny 🌱
