Just want to thank you for your video. I was about to buy an impeller and thermostat until I checked out your video. I hadn't run this same motor in years and fired it up to check on how she was doing. No water coming out of head end. Ran a drill bit by hand through that brass outlet below thermostat, saw the crude it cleared, fired it up and she spit water out like normal. Runs great now as it usually did. Thanks to guys like you who care enough to post videos like these.
Thank you so much. I did a quick you tube video search because I wasn't getting enough water flow out the pee tube on my old B100. Sure enough I stuck a small bottle brush up inside and gave it a few in and outs. Replaced the hose and it wotked. Plenty of water flow now, Thanks for saving me the headaches.
Another tip about that intake. I just did the same thing on mine and realized if u look down it’s throat where the carb bolts on it has a big bulged spot to restrict them mines a 8 but once I grinded it out it’s a lot fast and actually will come out of the hole. Bit more prop helped to
I had issues with my bf100 with water circulation also. I ran about 8 gallons of vinegar & a half gallon of clr in a tub with the outboard running & let it circulate circulates for 1 hour. It helped out so much it removed the build up . I saw alot of the build up in the bottom of the tub . Hope this can help you in the future
Great advice, I didn’t replace the impeller but I did take the cover off like you did and yes, there was a ton of corrosion. I would not just clean it out like you suggested with a drill bit, but I would recommend to take the whole thing off just to be sure. Bryan from Vancouver
The thermostat wasn't working. Now I've removed the thermostat and am using the engine without it. I've ordered a thermostat, but I'm concerned if I should also order a gasket? I dont see gasket on our video?
Can it be the impeller housing ? Is it suppose to have a slit on the inner side of housing ? Because when I blow air threw the housing the air goes threw and out the port hole on top of the empeller housing is it suppose to ? Anthony
Thanks for the video, helpful. I have not had mine long and it overheats. Spits water when cold and spits hot mist when I run it. I'm having problems finding parts and would like to replace what I can for the year. Any tips on sites?
Hey thanks for the video. I just bought the same motor and it runs great. Do you have an issue with any oil coming out of the water intake? Mine seems to seep a little down there.
No, and knowing that the water pump is totally sealed of from the oil, I am suspect that it might be coming through the exhaust portion and drippig down the housing on the inside. Might be rings, etc.
when you pull the lower half down to replace impeller make sure there is a seal collar on the end of water tube going up to motor .that was my problem.its plastic over time it gets warn and breaks.
The entire issue is caused by people not using flushing their motor out with fresh clean tap water and flushing muffs after they are done using it. never use flushing muffs to run your engine out of water they're designed only to rinse the cooling system out when the motor is off they don't provide enough water flow to properly cool the engine
Tonight I will sleep slightly more intelligent having learnt this!

How do you know what part numbers? I am finding a really tough time being sure it's actually the correct part when searching in ebay or amazon
Anyone have a part number for a replacement prop? I have the same motor and it needs a new prop. Thanks

Hart do say without looking at it.
