Still very useful now; this is 5 years later, 2022.

i hope you didn't have to tear it apart like that moron did just clean it out with fresh water and flushing muffs When you're done using it you won't have the issue anymore

Dylan, My BF 75 emits water at the tell tale for a couple of minutes, then it stops and steam spits out (no water). Would that be the thermostat? Doesn't quite make sense because I would think if it didn't open the water would continue to flow to the telltale (and not the block)? I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Hey really sorry for being a year late, I completely forgot I had a "channel" !
That is an interesting problem. I put up a video on thermostat testing that would quickly rule out that being an issue. I agree with you though that it would be an unlikely cause. I found the shop manual online and linked it here. I would just look at the schematic of the cooling system and test each component starting with the easiest fix first. www.manualslib.com/manual/795852/Honda-Bf75.html#manual

Juan Avila hello, I bought parts from boats.net , which is a supplier in southern states. Parts aren't too bad but shipping to Canada was expensive. I don't have the part number but I go on the site, find the engine I'm working on , then look at the schematic for that piece of the engine . In this case, it was the cooling system. The part numbers are listed there. Best of luck and feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Did you make new gaskets or find them somewhere online??

Robert Pennington Hi there , on this project , I made some of the gaskets , using the old ones as a template, mostly with punches. I also purchased some from boats.net

I’m having trouble finding the gaskets too. I wonder if gasket maker will do the job or make a mess?

      @@SolarBurrito Hey there,
If you mean liquid gasket I would not use it on it's own. I used it to supplement the gasket I made but it did not work on it's own. How are you making out with your build ?
