There is so much ignorance on display; players either don't know the rules or are too dumb to abide by them; commentators and coaches don't understand the rules either. The commentary is so extraordinarily uninformed but maybe that's typical of USA?
Do they still award Oscar's in this sport? Is the winner still the team with the best thespians? Like many over officiated physical sports today, the result of the game depends more on the referee's interference and interruptions rather than the skill of the team. Sport has become boring to watch

Yes! The only reason US was dominating in Women's football was due to athleticism. That despite other countries not investing, but that has changed.
commentary in UK can be just as ignorant. They are better at counting to 2 yellows though. They understand DOGSO in UK perhaps.

That kind of encroachment should always be misconduct.
If a players does it the first time, they get a warning. However, if they do it again, it will be a Yellow Card for Persistent Offences.
