13:00 how is that a soft penalty. Sure she got the ball but look how she got it. She comes in and takes out the attacker from the side/back. That’s a foul on any part of the pitch. That’s the biggest misconception in soccer with fans, “if they get the ball it’s not a foul” that’s wrong. If a player comes in and elbows a player in the face but “gets the ball” it’s a foul. If a player takes down a player who is attacking from behind but “gets the ball” illegally, it’s a foul.
Uli Krosse in the referee world this is a 50/50 really depends on the game if it’s been a physical battle front the start you don’t think of this at all, if there have been similar low contact fouls all game this is called. Have worked with plenty of officials who hate unnecessary contact with ankles, the negligible contact with the ball means nothing when considering contact to plant leg ankle before it makes contact with the ground.
Uli Krosse you’re right contact can be legal. But it also CAN be illegal (of course). That foul was unnecessary which took away the attackers chance on goal. Clear penalty. And there is a difference between a dive and selling a foul. In the box, selling the foul can be the difference between the penalty being called or being ignored

I love watching these drama queens with their arms up in the air with that who-me look like they are all angels. They all do it!!! It is so phony but funny. These drama queens need to argue less and play more and score goals.
honestly, some of the comments you have made about these refs are disgusting, I'm surprised this video hasn't been taken down!!
Well ... ORL - HOU ... shame on both the ref and the Houston players. But incidents were dives of the worst sort. Demanding a card is a punishable offense, by the way - which means Mewis was the one who should have been sent off.
I agree that it was wrong of Mewis to tell her to give a card, but she had a right to be pissed off.
I don’t know what’s worse. Men taking dives, or women acting shocked when them and the whole world knows they did it.
All those discussions after a card is given….so stupid….and timeconsuming…..
Marta is a joke. Lipstick is not required in professional sport. Can someone explain why a professional athlete would paint their face id appreciate it.
lol some of these should not be red.
Yeah yeah !
You wasted three minutes on a play that wasn’t caught on film
The one where you said it should be a penalty was just outside the box. The one where you said it was a soft penalty wasn't a penalty because the defender touched the ball first. The last one was studs up hard into or near a player's ankle, so that should have been a straight red, not a second yellow. The best website I know of--and probably the only website of its kind--where refs from around the world critique other refs' performances in real time is at law5-theref.blogspot.com. Every ref can learn so much from it.
Well that's what I thought
cant see this anymore. those referee dont know nothing they destroying the game
several cuties.. but sorta' boring cards being tossed out....
Always is more easy judge then think we’!! Reyna Fonseca can make mistakes like me u everyone but that doesn’t mean she is “wrist” come on !!
I Have never seen such bad refs
love sonnett as a person but as a defender she can’t keep up and is always forcing those penalties which are very dangerous especially when they’re closer to the opponents final third
Red-mist Rodriguez. Sonnett should've stood her ground, even with the disqualification.
