With the x-clamp removal tool, it needs to go between the top of the champ and the bit that folds under and goes underneath. It looks like you had the tool between the clamp and the motherboard. I've removed a dozen or so this way and they've come off fairly easity. I initially used to use a screwdriver unti one day it slipped and left a massive scratch on the motherborard.
Nice one, thanks for the tip. I definitely did it wrong anyway, haha, but I found the screwdriver worked in the end. I'll have a go at your method next time.... if there is a next time 😅 Thanks again 👍🏻
@@DReviewTing I also got the original Xbox, brought it off eBay when COVID kicked in , fully loaded with 2tb drive has all the games & stuff & also has coin ops , lights up & everything for £90 also came with hdmi cable , that I thought was a bargain 😁
Hey, I just did the RGH mod on one of my Trinity boards and yeah, it took me a few tries to get it all up and running correctly. I basically had to learn to solder to attempt this! I appreciate in your video that you highlight some of the things that can go wrong with the process!
I'm delighted you got it up and running! Aye, I'm still very much a novice when it comes to this, and wanted to highlight what I had issues with. Glad it was helpful! I hope you have it loaded with Games now too haha! Thanks for watching!
I really need to figure out how to hack some of these older consoles. Soldering is intimidating for me, but maybe if I can get a cheaper retro console… IF THEY EXIST 😂 Great video, guys! Keep it up!
I greatly appreciate the comment Brandon! Soldering does take a bit of getting used to, but once you have it, it's a great skill. I'd recommend getting a good iron, even one about 50, flux, and an old board from whichever appliance and just practice taking bits off and back on again. It's how I learned. Thanks again!
3:30 I have been modding XBOX 360 for many years and it seems that everyone have forgot how to release the X-clamp, but it is nice to see that you are doing the easy way 👍 But skip the background music, please!
This is my first effort taking apart an xbox 360. I'm so happy there is loads of information online, haha. The x clamp was causing me all kinds of grief.
RGH 3 is a pretty good mod, even if it's random on phats, the problem is when people do this as their first soldering project and end up destroying points. There should be a disclamer with all these guides stating that it's for non beginner soldering only
You shouldnt read complaints your doing great keep it up love your video they just haters if you do what they say they find something else and complain again and again
I truly appreciate that. I don't mind genuine criticism if it's constructive. And it's nice reading supportive comments such as this. Really, greatly appreciate it.
The xb360 is such an underrated console especially for hard and software mods. Had an RGH that I modded tf out of. Probably a bit too much for my own good because I bricked the fucker with no nand backup. Still got it and at some point I'll properly fix it up but for the min I'm good
Man, that's utter shit that it bricked! But I definitely didn't give the 360 much attention back in the day. Got a good few games ready to go that I want to play! Thanks for watching!
@@DReviewTing im looking for one with an rgh and a drive that can play burnt games because my xbox isnt rgh and plays burnt games but ive had it since 2008. and im afraid it will break down eventually, amazing its still going strong. no sign of dying. and its a jasper model.i use it everyday too.
Your music is way too high in volume, and it's annoying turning the volume up and down to adjust for the huge difference between your voice and the music volume.
@@DReviewTing I wasn't expecting anything lol. some people just toss this stuff and it makes me a bit sad because I have a use for it.. eBay is also overpriced for this type of stuff.
Welp you missed out on one of the greatest consoles of all time while it was relevant. You said you only played GOW... how? Then why choose that and spatterhouse to play of all things? OG xbox i can understand modding but 360? mehh youre better off getting a Series S you'll get way more out of it.

@@DReviewTingto be honest I am more interested in your junk ones, I am looking to practice doing trace repair and reflow. lol
Still playing this classic console to this day, had it flashed /hacked & run games off a hard drive & it's still working to this day
Amazing! The OG xbox is next on the list! Thanks for watching 😄

Really cool modding there, Graeme! Love the background music too, I've actually got a few of those EDM bangers in my own music library! 🔥
Thank you, my man! I think it s a bit loud, but not too much. But I'll be mindful going forward 😄
What is the name for the second song??

Solid idea. I suppose I hope people can decide that for themselves. But definitely a good idea
Yes points are tinny microscope recommended without dont even try

your video is so good and good for information but the song i think you must turn off the song or turn down the volume of the song that so annoying
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. Still trying to get used to correct audio levels haha.
yeah i was ganna say that just use 27% volume on song that be good

What do you have the games installed on? The little hdd you put in the shell?
Great question, and I should have explained on more detail. The hardrive went in to the Xbox, and I used the usb drive to transfer games.
will this mod be able to play burned game discs as well? or just games on a hard drive?
Hey. I don't believe you can with this mod. From my understanding, you need to modify the disc drive itself. This is only for reading from a usb/hdd.

Shame about the damaged traces, maybe fix with bodge wire?
I tried, but unfortunately it's way above my skill level!

👍🏻
goldeneye 007 remaster for the n64 is a good xbox 360 game that is unreleased that you can play on the rgh
Ooooh! Nice one! I'll have a look for that! Thanks.
I play 360 all the time! Lfd and lfd 2 are the best, no mods necessary!
Solid choices! I'm adding them now!
Can i use awg 30 wires or do i need jumper cables for nand solder
I'd say it should be fine. The reason I used jumper was to easily detach and reattach the flasher, and use it for other consoles later.
i think awg 30 single core wire is best for this
Can I have your junk ones? I am looking for projects to do trace repair, reflow on..
I keep all mine for practice/parts. Best place to check is eBay under the "spares and repairs" filter.

Anywhere you know where i can buy a rgh console thats reputable
I wouldn't off the top of my head. I'd say going private sale is your best option.

Brown Karen Lewis Deborah Hall Thomas
Marcus Dom Cole Baird Link Zelda?
or just get a pc and pirate the games or use and emulator
Believe it or not, that's how this project started. I could run it on my pc, but you need a pretty good pc to run the xenia.
