Cfw and Rgh is basically developer mode. Having a custom firmware is having developer access which is what dev mode is. Even the ps5 jailbreak is just a dev mode, to be honest.

Nice video! 100% agree with your opinion. Being from a third world south asian country, I could never afford to play games in my childhood. Got into uni and bought a laptop for research work and played a couple ones that could run. This year, got my masters in literature, made some money and got free time and decided to splurge a bit. Everyone I asked for advice and recommendations pointed out that getting to experience the 7th gen and xbox 360 was the best that I could begin with. That's a really hard question to answer because Xbox 360 at the time was incredible. But in 2024 obviously the Series X is way better because the frame rates are so high the visuals are way better, Loading times are super fast. Xbox Series X plays many of the Xbox 360 games. GTA 4 running at 60fps is incredible. We should still demand for better though. We need more Xbox 360 titles on xbox series. Even put og halo 1 and 2 on it and Minecraft Xbox 360 edition. I know we have Xbox one edition and halo mcc but I still think it would benefit us to where we might wanna go back to the og menus and those old visuals. I think we are lucky that our Xbox Series can play Xbox 360, Xbox one, Xbox Series.
I did watch more of your video and I agree! We do need proper backwards compatibility. We need 100% of Xbox 360 games working on Series X. Even the kinect should be able to work. Alot of people did like the kinect. Kinect sold a shit ton. 30+ million units.
If I can’t earn achievements on my Xbox account while playing these games no point the reason I love Xbox 360 is cause of the achievements while you should all know PS3 didn’t have trophies for all their games to why I played on Xbox 360 instead those games

honestly your not wrong like im a big xbox fan and the only games i buy digitally from the store are the backwards compatible ones because i grew up with it 360 is miles better you might not play the newest games on it but atleast you can buy one for around $50 get it modded for around $50 then play whatever you want for a few years if you actually try to play some of the story driven games and save the money youd pay for newer xbox games to pay for a pc. like ive got nothing against xbox i want a series x but at this point im just gonna get a 360 mod it then save a bit and when ive got the money for it i might be able to get a pc second hand for the same price
I agree w/ basically everything you said here. Yes, a lot of companies are getting greedier and greedier while exhibiting a downfall in terms of the quality of their releases. However, there are still so many companies that are still releasing great games. Elden ring will quite literally be talked about 100 years from now along w/ all of the other Fromsoftware releases. I would highly suggest trying out Elden Ring. From an objective standpoint, it is THE game. While a lot of people like to live purely off of their nostalgia, we have to realize that there were lots of good and bad games then, and there are lots of good and bad games now.
I agree but i also like my series x for fps boost and quick resume and as a long time xbox player my extended library of old games which many include 360 games or remasters of them also achievements
As a collector of all sorts of games and systems going all the way back to the atari 2600.. xbox 360 is by far my biggest collection (before the store shuttered and prices got wild) Xbox 360 games = 255 and counting, series x games = 6.. and one of the biggest things that always seems to get forgotten is the xbox 360 controller is best controller of all time!
Yesss I have only just started to get into rgh modded 360s and owned one stock from new as well. The game library on the 360 is still so good. The series s library is just not there, where are the games!!
Older games were just better. Nowadays the majority of games are services and the fun is limited. I'd say gaming peaked around the PS2 era. The 360 era was the calm before the storm.

That's the problem with all these new consoles, the older generation console's already had some of the best games, so how do you top that? The big selling point of these new games and new consoles is just the higher resolution and ray tracing, not game quality.
Even though I have Xbox Series X. My 2 modded RGH Xbox 360 Slim S and E with 2tb Hard drive is way better. I tried many emulators on Xbox Series X on retail mode until Microsoft blocked it. It was amazing playing Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2, PSP, and some 360 games. Every console gamers need a PS3 Slim, Xbox 360 and Wii U modded.
The consoles are great. I’m talking about the PS5 and series X. However, if I didn’t get the ps5 for free. I would’ve waited until ncaa 25 forced me to upgrade.
seems like a lot of these shorts commenters are huffing the buyers copium 😂 The only opinion I'd disagree with is about your thoughts on emulation in general. Emulation in my opinion is pretty important, for preservation and being able to play these games in the future where the consoles will all be long irreparable. it helps allow people to also play games and such for places where hardware is rare or not available. I'd probably not be writing this comment today if 9 year old me didn't get into old games via emulation over a decade ago. Nintendo consoles pre the Wii are extremely rare where i live so if i had not had the emulators for the older consoles i'd have not been able to experience those nintendo classics for example. a lot of these backwards compatibility things on consoles also use emulation.

You're not wrong. The one s was okay but nothing about it that's memorable. the series X stands out because of the sheer value (I don't believe in renting games so I'm not talking about Game pass when I say value) and high performance but Xbox one games benefit much more from the power than the Xbox 360 does. I'm still depressed as hell I can't play spider man Web of shadows or all the other 360 era marvel games on series X. My entire birthday was nothing but backwards compatible games because the overall quality was better than newer AAA games and I don't need some overpriced memory card to play them.
i wouldnt say emulators are pointless, they open up entire libraries to people who dont have original hardware or just want to play a specific game or two. sure for people like us where we're consistently going back to older games its much better to be on original hardware just for the general ambience/experience but i dont think that nullifies the emulator debate, not to mention preserving consoles that are getting harder to find and more expensive by the day. that said tho, good video man, you put your thoughts together pretty well and actually respect the viewers common sense which i fw 👍

Series x is a partial 360 since theres only 632 xbox 360 games that work on there out of 2,000 but i see ur point. Even tho i talked about it in the video
Xenia is not 💯Its going to take years for it to reach the level of playability for the majority of games out there. Look at the PS2 emulator and how long it took.
I stopped upgrading after my ps4 pro. I play a lot of 360. Currently trying to upgrade my 1tb (legit collection) to a 2tb. I’m waiting to get a ps5, because theres not much to it. Microsoft lost me with the xbox one. My pc collect dust.
It simply means leverage of Hardware suppliers and software companies , If the games get bigger you need a bigger hard drive , If the games get updates you need to have internet uncapped and subscriptions for playing a game , we have 2 Xbox 360 and the Kinect and it is something that we have all agreed that New isn’t better its just more marketing to enable more sales to people who just blindly follow technology , Im a Android Developer and let me tel you money vs gamer loyalty , money unfortunately wins. "but 4k and ray tracing" i literally do not care. Story and fun gameplay are way more important. If incredible games were once made to fit on a 6.8GB DVD, then theres no reason a game should be much more than that. I get games like witcher 3 have loads of different environments but COD modern warfare 27 remastered does not need to be 200GB when cod4 was incredible and fit on a single dvd. Besides those fancy visual effects mean all modern games look exactly the same. Id prefer a hacked 360 over my series x anyday. The truth is modern games are just not well made so the top end hardware literally goes for waste.

I agree in some ways that it's better. Overall though I don't think its possible to say one is objectively better than the other. As there are different use cases for people and what they want to get out of their systems. I was heavily involved in the 360 modding community from ages back. From even the RGH days. I also have a modded PS3, but let's just stick to the 360 as its the subject here. One of my favorite console experiences was playing the modded 360 slim and using the freestyle dash. For xbox 360 games, then the modded 360 is better for sure, even than a pc. A modded 360 is also better for value and long-term usage potential. You can easily keep a modded 360 offline, add games you want to play and the DLC without having to ever connect it to the internet. A modded 360 is a console I want to have for the long-term. It's an excellent system and that generation was still the days where games sizes weren't stupid-big like they are today, I remember the bigger games being around 40gb in size. A lot are from 8 - 30gb. To this day it's still such a feeling scrubbing through the modded dashboard and admiring the massive collection of games you have on your system. Especially knowing that you own them. There's no bs licensing you have to agree to, which can be revoked at any time taking away your games. Really, I only think these new consoles are only truly good do to technology progression; 1080p+, 60fp+, HDR, 4K streaming, online multiplayer and SSD loading speed. Although they have so many downsides that come with modern gaming; microtransactions, lack of customization, unfair consumer "purchasing" powers, $70 price tags, broken-on-release games, games losing their license and being delisted, ads on your dashboard and so much more. And that's not to say the 360 has no problems, the big daunting one is lack of official support now. But its problems overall can be circumvented by modding support and in general they are a less of a hassle to deal with than the woes of modern gaming. When I buy a game on my series s or ps5, I always do so with a concerned thought that I know I dont really own the copies Im buying, if i get banned mistakenly, my entire library is wiped immediately. This argument can go on for days and is the same for ps3 vs ps5. Both generations have their pros and cons, but if you asked me to choose one for the long-run I'm choosing a modded 360. BUT only a modded one, no way would I consider owning a legit FW 360 nowadays, they're basically dead.

I think this is less of a problem with 360/series X than it is with the just the entire genaration of games period. Many of these games, like Web of Shadows, were also available on PS3. That generation did things. Took chances. Made games that were weird, and niche, and that people love. Now everything is a sequel, live service, or has to get patched for two years to be decent. XBOX would have you believe that their brand is not a corporate sell out megaton, that Phil Spenser is your buddy. But hes an executive. plain and simple. I mean they all are, to an exstent.

In my opinion the series x is better. I understand your opinion if you like the 360 better. I had a 360 back in the day and it died after 3 years. My mom bought a warranty for it and I got another one and that one only lasted 3 years again. I have a ps4 and it has lasted for 10 years and it's still alive. Consoles over all are more reliable. I'm not worried that my series x is going to die in a year. My series x can play a bunch of free to play games. But I also have the choice to buy games if I really want to. Need for speed unbound got an update around a year and a half after launch. The game now has a speed pass that adds constant progression. Sure some people might not like "battle pass" machanics. But I bought the game I can just get the free rewards and just enjoy the game loop. When need for speed heat came out. I bought a bunch or cars. Just kept playing. But at some point I just had a ton of money and every car I wanted and no real reason to keep playing. With old need for speeds I'd stop at some point. But now I'm just consistently playing the game. Also load times are way better. Maps can be bigger. Graphics are better on the series x. If you want to play a xbox 360, that's fine. If you want to mod it then that's up to you. I don't care. I don't want to mod my systems. I can play free to play games on my phone and consoles if I don't wanna spend any money.

Never been a xbox player, ive always been a playstation player and have had a jailbroken ps3 for as long as i can remember. Used to play cod and gta with mod menus and shit. Unfortunately i never backed up those disks and i had to sell all my games and my non jb console since i had 2 but kept my jailbroken one. Got no games with a console thats collecting dust and no controllers.
Got a ps4 but I still daily drive that so I don't plan on jailbreaking it just yet unless I grab another ps4. In terms of handhelds I got my home-brew 3ds and a steam deck which is my go to for emulation. Not original hardware but space is limited for me and the money just isn't there. Plus my ps4/ps3 can work that out. Also I have heard that steam deck can run Xenia and pcsx3 but it's very hit or miss. It's be nice to play those on a handheld but it's just not optimised for it.
Ay no cap bro, I was thinking of starting to flip consoles, like buy them stock and jailbreak them to sell them for more. But they won't come with games. I was thinking for the black slim which is $50 I flip it for $200. Pretty decent money imo considering the labor. But yea I heard people are selling them for like $400 now.
Honestly, in general I think older consoles are just better then newer ones. Older consoles have more fun games and the replay value for a lot of these games are just better. Modern games are just stale and boring, especially from triple A industry. The only modern console I own is the Nintendo Switch, but that's about it. I still play more games on PS2 & PS3 systems, then on the Switch.
Or not. Why would I buy one game for £70. When I can buy 10- 20 for the same price. Are you saying the 360 has bad games? Did you play all the great 360 games? It's just a fun hobby to play retro. It doesn't mean we can't afford it.

Some of them aren't like most Spider Man games but unless you need a game that's not playable on Series consoles, I don't think saying that 360 is better is a true statement.

In its time the 360 stood as something better than the series X stands as in this time. Side by side right now though the Series X beats the 360. Superior technology. Most games from 360 especially the most important games are compatible on the X and so are all XBOX ONE games. Obviously this doesn't work at all in reverse. The 360 WI FI is not very good and you need a receiver to get the best out of it. Dev mode does everything a modded 360 can do without the hassle of doing physical mods so it's more accessible and more powerful on the 360.

That's a really hard question to answer because Xbox 360 at the time was incredible.
But in 2024 obviously the Series X is way better because the frame rates are so high the visuals are way better, Loading times are super fast.
Xbox Series X plays many of the Xbox 360 games. GTA 4 running at 60fps is incredible. We should still demand for better though. We need more Xbox 360 titles on xbox series. Even put og halo 1 and 2 on it and Minecraft Xbox 360 edition. I know we have Xbox one edition and halo mcc but I still think it would benefit us to where we might wanna go back to the og menus and those old visuals. I think we are lucky that our Xbox Series can play Xbox 360, Xbox one, Xbox Series.
I did watch more of your video and I agree! We do need proper backwards compatibility. We need 100% of Xbox 360 games working on Series X. Even the kinect should be able to work. Alot of people did like the kinect. Kinect sold a shit ton. 30+ million units.

You can still get trophies but they won't save to your xbox account although there are ways around that.

I agree w/ basically everything you said here. Yes, a lot of companies are getting greedier and greedier while exhibiting a downfall in terms of the quality of their releases. However, there are still so many companies that are still releasing great games. Elden ring will quite literally be talked about 100 years from now along w/ all of the other Fromsoftware releases. I would highly suggest trying out Elden Ring. From an objective standpoint, it is THE game. While a lot of people like to live purely off of their nostalgia, we have to realize that there were lots of good and bad games then, and there are lots of good and bad games now.

As a collector of all sorts of games and systems going all the way back to the atari 2600.. xbox 360 is by far my biggest collection (before the store shuttered and prices got wild) Xbox 360 games = 255 and counting, series x games = 6.. and one of the biggest things that always seems to get forgotten is the xbox 360 controller is best controller of all time!

That's the problem with all these new consoles, the older generation console's already had some of the best games, so how do you top that? The big selling point of these new games and new consoles is just the higher resolution and ray tracing, not game quality.

Even though I have Xbox Series X. My 2 modded RGH Xbox 360 Slim S and E with 2tb Hard drive is way better. I tried many emulators on Xbox Series X on retail mode until Microsoft blocked it. It was amazing playing Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2, PSP, and some 360 games. Every console gamers need a PS3 Slim, Xbox 360 and Wii U modded.

The only opinion I'd disagree with is about your thoughts on emulation in general. Emulation in my opinion is pretty important, for preservation and being able to play these games in the future where the consoles will all be long irreparable. it helps allow people to also play games and such for places where hardware is rare or not available. I'd probably not be writing this comment today if 9 year old me didn't get into old games via emulation over a decade ago. Nintendo consoles pre the Wii are extremely rare where i live so if i had not had the emulators for the older consoles i'd have not been able to experience those nintendo classics for example. a lot of these backwards compatibility things on consoles also use emulation.

You're not wrong. The one s was okay but nothing about it that's memorable. the series X stands out because of the sheer value (I don't believe in renting games so I'm not talking about Game pass when I say value) and high performance but Xbox one games benefit much more from the power than the Xbox 360 does. I'm still depressed as hell I can't play spider man Web of shadows or all the other 360 era marvel games on series X. My entire birthday was nothing but backwards compatible games because the overall quality was better than newer AAA games and I don't need some overpriced memory card to play them.
i wouldnt say emulators are pointless, they open up entire libraries to people who dont have original hardware or just want to play a specific game or two. sure for people like us where we're consistently going back to older games its much better to be on original hardware just for the general ambience/experience but i dont think that nullifies the emulator debate, not to mention preserving consoles that are getting harder to find and more expensive by the day.

If incredible games were once made to fit on a 6.8GB DVD, then theres no reason a game should be much more than that. I get games like witcher 3 have loads of different environments but COD modern warfare 27 remastered does not need to be 200GB when cod4 was incredible and fit on a single dvd. Besides those fancy visual effects mean all modern games look exactly the same. Id prefer a hacked 360 over my series x anyday. The truth is modern games are just not well made so the top end hardware literally goes for waste.

I agree in some ways that it's better. Overall though I don't think its possible to say one is objectively better than the other. As there are different use cases for people and what they want to get out of their systems. I was heavily involved in the 360 modding community from ages back. From even the RGH days. I also have a modded PS3, but let's just stick to the 360 as its the subject here. One of my favorite console experiences was playing the modded 360 slim and using the freestyle dash. For xbox 360 games, then the modded 360 is better for sure, even than a pc. A modded 360 is also better for value and long-term usage potential. You can easily keep a modded 360 offline, add games you want to play and the DLC without having to ever connect it to the internet. A modded 360 is a console I want to have for the long-term. It's an excellent system and that generation was still the days where games sizes weren't stupid-big like they are today, I remember the bigger games being around 40gb in size. A lot are from 8 - 30gb. To this day it's still such a feeling scrubbing through the modded dashboard and admiring the massive collection of games you have on your system. Especially knowing that you own them. There's no bs licensing you have to agree to, which can be revoked at any time taking away your games. Really, I only think these new consoles are only truly good do to technology progression; 1080p+, 60fp+, HDR, 4K streaming, online multiplayer and SSD loading speed. Although they have so many downsides that come with modern gaming; microtransactions, lack of customization, unfair consumer "purchasing" powers, $70 price tags, broken-on-release games, games losing their license and being delisted, ads on your dashboard and so much more. And that's not to say the 360 has no problems, the big daunting one is lack of official support now. But its problems overall can be circumvented by modding support and in general they are a less of a hassle to deal with than the woes of modern gaming. When I buy a game on my series s or ps5, I always do so with a concerned thought that I know I dont really own the copies Im buying, if i get banned mistakenly, my entire library is wiped immediately. This argument can go on for days and is the same for ps3 vs ps5. Both generations have their pros and cons, but if you asked me to choose one for the long-run I'm choosing a modded 360. BUT only a modded one, no way would I consider owning a legit FW 360 nowadays, they're basically dead.

I think this is less of a problem with 360/series X than it is with the just the entire genaration of games period. Many of these games, like Web of Shadows, were also available on PS3. That generation did things. Took chances. Made games that were weird, and niche, and that people love. Now everything is a sequel, live service, or has to get patched for two years to be decent. XBOX would have you believe that their brand is not a corporate sell out megaton, that Phil Spenser is your buddy. But hes an executive. plain and simple. I mean they all are, to an exstent.

I had a 360 back in the day and it died after 3 years. My mom bought a warranty for it and I got another one and that one only lasted 3 years again. I have a ps4 and it has lasted for 10 years and it's still alive. Consoles over all are more reliable. I'm not worried that my series x is going to die in a year.
My series x can play a bunch of free to play games. But I also have the choice to buy games if I really want to.
Need for speed unbound got an update around a year and a half after launch. The game now has a speed pass that adds constant progression. Sure some people might not like "battle pass" machanics. But I bought the game I can just get the free rewards and just enjoy the game loop. When need for speed heat came out. I bought a bunch or cars. Just kept playing. But at some point I just had a ton of money and every car I wanted and no real reason to keep playing. With old need for speeds I'd stop at some point. But now I'm just consistently playing the game.
Also load times are way better. Maps can be bigger. Graphics are better on the series x.
If you want to play a xbox 360, that's fine. If you want to mod it then that's up to you. I don't care. I don't want to mod my systems. I can play free to play games on my phone and consoles if I don't wanna spend any money.

Never been a xbox player, ive always been a playstation player and have had a jailbroken ps3 for as long as i can remember. Used to play cod and gta with mod menus and shit. Unfortunately i never backed up those disks and i had to sell all my games and my non jb console since i had 2 but kept my jailbroken one. Got no games with a console thats collecting dust and no controllers.
Got a ps4 but I still daily drive that so I don't plan on jailbreaking it just yet unless I grab another ps4. In terms of handhelds I got my home-brew 3ds and a steam deck which is my go to for emulation. Not original hardware but space is limited for me and the money just isn't there. Plus my ps4/ps3 can work that out. Also I have heard that steam deck can run Xenia and pcsx3 but it's very hit or miss. It's be nice to play those on a handheld but it's just not optimised for it.

Honestly, in general I think older consoles are just better then newer ones. Older consoles have more fun games and the replay value for a lot of these games are just better. Modern games are just stale and boring, especially from triple A industry. The only modern console I own is the Nintendo Switch, but that's about it. I still play more games on PS2 & PS3 systems, then on the Switch.

You can use Xenia to emulate the XBOX 360 but it's not that good.
In its time the 360 stood as something better than the series X stands as in this time. Side by side right now though the Series X beats the 360. Superior technology. Most games from 360 especially the most important games are compatible on the X and so are all XBOX ONE games. Obviously this doesn't work at all in reverse. The 360 WI FI is not very good and you need a receiver to get the best out of it. Dev mode does everything a modded 360 can do without the hassle of doing physical mods so it's more accessible and more powerful on the 360.
I agree with you but I guess I'm just biased by default because I grew up with a 360

Well, it would be kind of hard for me to show you guys how to install an RGH since I already did that on mine, but I’ll probably make tutorials showing you guys how to do everything after that. And I’m also probably going to open up a store soon where you guys can send me your consoles and I’ll mod them for you.
