Really new to the Xbox 360 modding scene, so I find all these tutorials very helpful to watch.
Thanks mate, yes that's right J-Runner needs the CPU key to decrypt the NAND in order to build the new one based off the old one. Yes that's also correct when you unplug it and plug back in it resets the chips so the new code is loaded so the next step will be possible. Also if you mess up your NAND J-Runner has a working folder where your OG NAND is copied to so you can restore them back to factory and try again, good luck mate thanks for watching.

It really isa pretty easy mod to do if you know how to solder. Everyone says the hardest part is the tiny connections on the back and the masking you have to scrape off but I struggled the most with the ground when you're wiring up the nand. You really need a hot iron with a large contact to get solder to flow on that pad.
Awesome video, I just did this last week! Awesome mod. I will say, RUclips videos make this mod look much easier. If you have not soldered before I would NOT recommend being the project you learn in. Get some practice boards and practice a bunch first

Flux isn’t expensive and will solve 90% of soldering problems, that said the flux you have is so much less convenient than flux in a syringe! Give it a go
Just a tip: About a year after finishing one of these builds, I discovered an overheating issue. It turns out the heatsink is poorly designed. If you flip it over, you'll notice there's only a small area of copper, which doesn't fully cover the CPU, leading to poor heat dissipation. To fix this, make sure to apply thermal compound evenly to the top of the CPU. I know this is unconventional, but it works for this console. I also used MX-6 thermal paste because it performs better at higher temperatures. Finally, increase the fan speed by 30-50% using the DashLaunch homebrew app. Hope this helps!
haha that's awesome! Yeah stuff that is never worth buying, its like rebuilding a car engine always some special tool in the book that only the certified guys can get so you have to make your own ;)

@@vinniequodling1678 that's awesome I'm sure you will nail it 😁 you can use your profile but don't sign it to Xbox live for this I would make a new profile and account and use shadow servers because once your online there is still a chance to get band so it would suck to loss your main account with all you achievements etc maybe I should do a video on how to get online working...
Don't use the falcons. The jaspers are upgraded and the Trinity and coronas don't have that issue. Plus in dash launch you can crank up the fan speed if you wish.
Thanks mate. Yeah not going to lie I'm probably a bad reference I been soldering from 9 years old as the old man had a PC / electronics company when I was a kid but its never to late to learn. The bro Zombie only started a few years ago and now he one of the best I know. Good luck!
Quick question. How do you actually launch games online? I read that if you navigate around in the menus and open homebrew like aurora/xex menu, you can get banned as your account will show you were last active on weird homebrew apps. So how do people boot games online? Couldn't find a proper answer somehow. Thanks.
@@akiraperera9574 it's not worth it even if you use shadow servers (if they still exist) you might still get banned better just for playing offline games...
Even though I've seen the rgh install done before a few years ago by someone else, your version was very interesting however I would just get someone to do it for me. I am however potentially interested in fixing my non-slim console or possibly others which have had RROD however I hear there's a manufacturing fault where the cpu or gpu solder messes up over time or the motherboard cracks under repeated temperature changes from play so maybe it's just best to only run slims regardless of if you play normal or RGH. The xbox sound seems to be duplicated and slightly echoed in the video but wasn't too distracting. As my other comment which hopefully shows said, it's maybe the best option to keep them offline unless you're really careful and take lots of measures to protect your other consoles or gamertags being in jeopardy
@@Stallzyx haha I know what your saying the wife made the clean the heck out of our one last time I fixed a gpu but it work so I can't complain 😅 thanks for watching
@@TheDiWHYGuyplease don't recommend that to people... That just causes more damage. The failure is from faulty solder bump underfill on the GPU - reflowing does nothing to fix it. The only fix for that is to replace the GPU itself.
Jasper consoles are perfectly reliable - slims aren't the only option. The motherboard doesn't really flex unless someone has ruined the console by doing a bolt mod on the heat sink... RROD on older consoles is a GPU defect and is only fixable by replacing it. Also, using a stealth server and not running any homebrew apps (including Aurora) makes the risk of a ban extremely low. You won't risk an account ban either - just the console. Even then, just flashing a new KV gets you right back online
@@TheDiWHYGuy No, with a screwdriver. It is a bit hard to explain in text, but you put the screwdriver similar to what you did but on the other side of the pin and the opposite of the X-clamp will popup.
I got a question. Can other controllers that use bluetooth or dongle be used on the xbox360 instead of the original controller? My old xbox360 controller is nowhere to be found and I only have aftermarket pc controllers that is based on xbox controller that i use on pc
Yeah bro it will work but if you have a different motherboard you will need a guide for that type of motherboard to get the right pins to solder the wires to. What is the model number of you Xbox and the input current? I can tell you if it will work.
Oh yeah your right the lasts ones released that are more square shaped can't be modded so don't get one of those ones. The Xbox 360 Slim all can be and red ring die less than the first models so defiantly look out for cheap slim model. Good luck mate!

Yeah bro 100% I'm on the hunt for a water block thanks mate!
You literally modded and disassembled your xbox the exact same way I did lol
No way what are the chances lol keep up the good work and thanks for watching
@@TheDiWHYGuy yes I had to use the same phone tools to get the x clamp off 😂 I was not about to buy a damn tool just to remove some clamps
haha that's awesome! Yeah stuff that is never worth buying, its like rebuilding a car engine always some special tool in the book that only the certified guys can get so you have to make your own ;)
Does it matter what update your Xbox is on? Can I be on the latest firmware?
Good question, yes you can be on the latest firmware and if your not there is no harm in updating to the latest version before doing the RGH3 hack.
@@TheDiWHYGuy Thank you. I was always terrified of performing an RGH as a kid. With the skills I have today I’m gonna give it a go. Thanks to your very detailed video and engaging humor I have all the confidence in the world. Also the tip you gave in the video on disabling Xbox live connection answered another question I’ve had for a very long time. I was always scared I was gonna receive a console ban.
Would you recommend removing my main profile before doing this or is it safe to use my Xbox live account as long as I disable Xbox live?
@@vinniequodling1678 that's awesome I'm sure you will nail it 😁 you can use your profile but don't sign it to Xbox live for this I would make a new profile and account and use shadow servers because once your online there is still a chance to get band so it would suck to loss your main account with all you achievements etc maybe I should do a video on how to get online working...
Now all you need is a cooling mod so the dam thing doesn't overheat.
100% soon as I get my next job come in I'll be trying to find a water block for it, so stay posted cheers mate!
Don't use the falcons. The jaspers are upgraded and the Trinity and coronas don't have that issue. Plus in dash launch you can crank up the fan speed if you wish.
Single case with water cooled PS3 & Xbox 360 would be awesome.
Could you put a Wii in it too?
year bro that's a awesome Idea do they have HDMI? I want to use a KVM switch so it will have one output ;)
@@TheDiWHYGuy yes it would be all hdmi. Also yes, an hdmi splitter.
I want to start prototyping one.
RUclips doesn’t always notify me of comments…. Found your reply randomly
can i use a 30w solder iron for this?
Yes that's heaps just give it 5 min to warm up ;)
great video , i still don't find soldering fun or easy 😏unless someone else better then me does it 😗
Thanks mate.
@@TheDiWHYGuy yeahh sounds good and I've heard that about the oven to be fair but not sure my mum would allow that hahah
@@Harmonic14 good to know thanks a lot!
the resistor and diode aren’t required anymore
@@nothxgs I used a resistor but what diode I didn't add any diode?
@ watch other guides they aren’t required
okay thanks
3:40 I'm crying when i see how people remove the X-clamp. I have to create a video showing how to do it the proper way ...
With the tool?
@@TheDiWHYGuy No, with a screwdriver. It is a bit hard to explain in text, but you put the screwdriver similar to what you did but on the other side of the pin and the opposite of the X-clamp will popup.
Sweet good to know that was my 1st time opening a 360, cheers mate!
I got a question. Can other controllers that use bluetooth or dongle be used on the xbox360 instead of the original controller? My old xbox360 controller is nowhere to be found and I only have aftermarket pc controllers that is based on xbox controller that i use on pc
I just tried my PC controller based of Xbox it don't work bro you going have to keep looking for that 360 one...
If the controller supports XInput and you RGH the console, then yes, it's possible with a plugin or a NAND patch
nice vid
Thanks so much ☺
Puts "easy modding" in the title, precedes to strip the console down to base parts and the brings out the soldering iron.
Bro if you get stuck just hit me up I'll try help ya out ;)
Will this work on unsupported xbox 360 console
Yeah bro it will work but if you have a different motherboard you will need a guide for that type of motherboard to get the right pins to solder the wires to. What is the model number of you Xbox and the input current? I can tell you if it will work.
@@TheDiWHYGuy no it's just a question because I heard there some Xbox 360 motherboard can't be hacked but this will be a helpful info for near future
Oh yeah your right the lasts ones released that are more square shaped can't be modded so don't get one of those ones. The Xbox 360 Slim all can be and red ring die less than the first models so defiantly look out for cheap slim model. Good luck mate!
@@TheDiWHYGuy thanks
@@GhostGamer799very last E models can't be hacked. All slims are moddable and getting a fat, unless it's dirt cheap and Jasper, is not worth it.
Choice bro.
Sleeper PC just a fancy update and you got a windows computer
Not far off really :)
Can't connect to wifi for some reason, any fix?
if you already reset the router and Xbox and still not working you might need to unplug and replug the WiFi adapter board on the front of the Xbox you can see it @ 1.29 min check there is no corrosion on the connectors and the screw is in good luck mate
