One useful hint - when topping off(or blowing up for that matter with non-SV mats) by blowing into the small valve, stop off the valve opening with the tip of one's tongue when inhaling for the next puff to keep the air in the mat from blowing back out.
Thank you Jethro. I just bought a new mattress. A Thermarest X therm Ultralight. £211!! Damned expensive , but even though I am yet to use it, I am very impressed with it. So sturdy and obviously well made. Oozes quality! Folds down so small too, and weighs less than 1lb!! Fantastic. I look forward to getting out and using it. Other than my living room floor! Ha ha! Oh, I bought a Thermarest pillow too. It’s great, but too bulky for us bikepackers. End of…….! Great vid. Thanks.
I'll be interested to hear how it works out for you. I'm always toying with a new mat just to get something more packable. This one is super comfy but it's big. I'm hesitant to spend so much on a new pad just to get slightly better size and weight but it will probably happen at some point so keep me posted once you've used it in anger a few times.

It's a good one for sure. There are smaller lighter options out there now but I've not found one comfier yet
