John Kricfalusi pitched a story like this back when he worked on the Jetsons, called 'Journey to the Bottom of the Pole'. George and Elroy go on an archeological expedition down the pole that holds up their houses, the farther down they go, the less advanced the artifacts get. At the bottom are the Flintstones who always wondered what that giant pole was.
Actually they never showed the poles on the Flintstones but might be above mountains a long way away. The earth is a big place so just because no pole in Bedrock doesn't mean they couldn't be elsewhere and when did Fred venture out of Bedrock very seldom to go to Rock Vegas and where else?
I still give this theory a 5 because The Flintstones could be based on the quote by Albert Einstein "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." Which could suggest that in the future World War III destroyed the world and the majority of what inhabited the planet save for the people who fled Earth. Jetsons being the escapists and Flintstones being the survivors. Just because The jetsons takes place in 2026 doesn't mean it still can't be plausible. It has been a while since WW2 and with conflicts picking up in the eastern world with Russia and North Korea, we could be expecting a World War III sometime between now and 2026 leaving Earth in a pile of rubble. And Sky city is not too far off, space travel and colonization is not far off either given that we got a drone on a comet/meteor and have been to the moon quite a few times. We could be colonizing new planets soon enough if science and space travel continue to accelerate at this pace or even greater.
North Korea does not have enough power to be good opponent of Russia and I doubt this to countries will manage to cause World War lll but something other will cause it
@@shawnhayden4093 - sorry for answering after a year, but given you have answered to OP after 3 years, I feel justified ;) I just wanted to say that something like you described, with forgetting a lot of technology, if not all of it, actually already happened at least once (after the fall of the Roman Empire). The Jetsons has an episode where you see a bird walking on the earths surface because "with all the traffic in the skies these days the only safe place for us birds is on the ground" just before he is buzzed by by a flying George Jetson, and the Flintstiones has constant use of their own air travel i.e. the Flintstone flyer and the pterodactyl airlines. These two instances show multiple flaws in that theory namely that both character were fully capable of visiting or at least viewing the area in which the others would live in this theory.
Flintstones could still be in future although Jetson another 2000 or so years farther in future as they knew about Flintstone family debt during time of the Jetsons.
Well there's a plot hole in this theory, because in the jetsons they do show the ground. In one of the episodes (I forget which episode) a worker throws a tape measure down to the ground where you can see for only a second that there is grass and modern day looking buildings on Earth.
Flintstones season:6 episode:17 called: "The Long, Long, Long Weekend" In which After Fred criticizes a novel about the future that Barney is reading, The Great Gazoo sends Fred, Barney, Betty, and Wilma into the 21st Century (Wilma and Betty will remember nothing when getting back). This happens during a four day weekend that Fred and Barney have off from work. Fred meets Mr. Slate's 21st century descendant-and finds out he stills owns 21 centuries of interest on a $4.00 loan! Notes: The setting for the future is from The Jetsons cartoon series, even the music score from The Jetsons is even used
How are the Flintstones and Jetsons still using the same language 21 centuries apart unless Gazoo somehow universally translated it, and 21 centuries interest would put him back to about the time of Caesar Agustus, not in the stone age. Also what bank kept record for 21 hundred years? Of course they could start the calendar over again as the Romans did, so year zero could still be in the future then the Jetsons would be even farther in the future and still in the 21st century.
+Wintermist_ 100 Would actually make a lot of sense and is quite what we have today. In the West you have highways full of automobiles, growing metropolitan cities, smartphones, smart TVs, and you can even speak your commands to technology similar to how you can in the Jetsons, then in Africa you have mostly the opposite, in Africa most of the population lives similiar to the Flinstones, while the West looks like the Jetsons in Comparison. You see this even in "rich" countries as well. I have noticed that impoverished neighborhoods are only a kilometer away from wealthy ones. According to you, the Jetsons and Flinstones may as well be in the same time and this theory holds up.

This theory and the DC comics miniseries (which is our only glimpse of a live action Jetsons) was the inspiration for my version of the World building for the backstory of my version of a live action Jetsons
Both these cartoons went off prime time TV a few years before I was born. I used to watch them as re-runs on the old UHF channels when I was a kid. What I can say with certainty, is that this particular Conspiracy Theory had been around since at least the early 1970s. I remember hearing my Dad and my Uncles talking about this topic ( tongue-in-cheek ) way back then. So the idea itself has been in the public consciousness for over 40 years. That doesn't explicitly mean that it's true, but it adds some weight; if that's what people thought not too long after the shows aired, is it too far fetched to speculate that the original Hanna-Barbara teams may have had similar ideas. Emily also hits the nail on the head at 2:00. The cold war ( and global use of nuclear weapons) was a huge ever present political cloud in the 1960s thru the early 1980s, kinda like "terrorism" was a decade or so ago. So if one wants to read in a bit of implied social angst into the context about being/having been "bombed back into the stone age", that would be completely appropriate for that time period.
One big hole in this theory is that it's obvious it was not originally planned for these two shows to take place in the same universe. In an early episode of the Jetsons Elroy gets in trouble for watching Flintstones reruns on his TV wristwatch during class.
xxjermxx70 But reality television did not come along until the 90's, and both of these show were made in the 60's, so that argument wouldn't fly. I'm sure there are several other arguments that could be made but the fact is, fan theories are bogus, all of them. They are creative, and fun to talk about, but they are fake.
No, it's not weird. That same symbol is on the back of the US $1 bill. While it is the all seeing eye, which is a symbol of the Illuminati, it can also be chalked up to them just drawing something similar to US currency. They wouldn't have American presidents on their currency, right? But they would want something easily identified by American audiences as money. So they opted for a symbol on American currency. If you want an in-universe explanation, the all seeing eye was used by other cultures (such as the Egyptians' Eye of Horus) and could just be a symbol of whatever country Bedrock is controlled by.
On Cartoon Network George Jetson said that he was 'from the fantastical year of two thousand and two' you can sometimes see that commercial on boomerang too. I find it funny.
One of the creators, either William Hanna or Joe Barbera, stated that he envisioned the Jetsons floating/ suspended above some type of polluted atmosphere. The episode when they went to the surface, that was on another Earth-like planet.
There was an episode of the Flintstones where they went to the future and experienced (in our point of view) historical events. So I don't think it really holds up. And I like to think that the Flintstones takes place in an alternate universe, where the Neanderthals inherit the earth instead of the Homo Sapiens.
No, that wouldn't make sense given the fact that Flinstones use domestic tools instead of fixing things themselves, which wouldn't make sense since the reason one is evolving is the lack of something that forces them to create a new way to it, and The Flintstones just doesn't fit it. Also, what if the thing is being set at the future where everything is polluted and fucked up by humanity that the poors live in the ground while the rich ones live on the surface? Plus they rely on animals to do their things and are entertained by simple things.
Why none watched the actual movie in the focal point? The question remaining is, Flintstones is the Stone Age, OR a post-apocalyptic land? Well, for this facts: #1 Flintstones have brokers,stock-market, aviation and even had at least one World War. Given all the technologicaland historical data from the Flintstones series, we can conclude they live in our future, and the Jetsons live even further ahead in time.
morons still believe Jesus was born on Christmas, which is false He was never born in December,Christmas isn't biblical at all.,it's just another a pagan holiday like Halloween.
The Programmer of video games I think most of us Christians know Christ wasn’t actually born in December (I think it was sometime in the Spring?) but we just celebrate it at that time, and I disagree that it’s a pagan holiday, it merely just replaced a pagan holiday that was previously celebrated then. Also Halloween isn’t all necessarily pagan either.
Tree Sprout well, the celebration of Christmas has always been about Jesus, it’s just certain modern traditions were adapted from Pagan traditions to assimilate other cultures. Not necessarily saying that assimilation was the best thing, but it was a different time
if the Jetsons did just teleport down to the surface of the earth then how did Elroy get a belly dancer from Egyptian times to his room and how did Rosy travel to the middle ages??
Ever see Westworld where for entertainment they duplicated different past societies the ancient Romans and old westerns like in 1800's, etc. They could have also done it with the ancient Egyptians and middle ages.
West world has recreations of different time periods. Although both could be in future just Jetsons farther in future is another explanation as Flintstone family debt is still known about in the future and Fred goes and repays the loan.
There was an episode with the little martian that took the Flintstones to the 'future' that is nothing less than the Jetson's home, and in that sequence it was shown that time period was actually in the future when Fred realized that a "savings account" he started got him (or his ancestors) into extreme debt in the future.
I got one. Sorry if I'm a bit wrong I haven't seen or talked about it in a while so facts r hazy but the theory was is that the flinstones are in the future and the jetsons r in the past. My proof- the flinstones have cars and even planes, since that is what they used to have but they don't have the proper technology so they have to use there feet And other old materials, another was in the movie jetsons meet the flinstones ( this is where I'm a bit hazy ) the jetsons or maybe the flinstones I'm not to sure, anyways Elroy from the jetsons made a teleporter to go to the future but instead they went to the past (or so they thought) since wen they use the teleporter they meet the flinstones. Also at the end of the movie the jetsons fathers boss takes the design of the flinstones car and turns it into a futuristic version. Since he really liked the design of the car and he's never seen it before
The theory I heard was that when the Jetsons teleported to the future. It actually worked. As apposed to failed. So the flint stones are the future of the Jetsons.
I literally just watch part of the episode where both families live and, there's is a scene where the Flintstones get transported to the future, as they are being transported, there's a mini earthquake in the jetsons house where the time machine is being repair by an old man just hanging with Rosie the robot, and he says, "IT CAN'T BE AN EARTHQUAKE, WE'RE NOT ON EARTH." does that mean they live in floating cities, or on the moon? A new planet. A spaceship that simulates earth's atmosphere?
I just think that the Jettsons _did_ travel in time into the near future when the ground is safe to live in again. The Jettsons came first, and then the flinstones
There's something in the Flintstones that disproves it, Season 5, Episode 18: Time Machine. The Flintstones go to the Bedrock World's Fair where they unwittingly end up in a time machine and travel forward to different time periods, such as Roman times, Arthurian, and even the (then) present of the 1964 New York World's Fair.
One person I heard talk about this theory said that in The Jetsons humanity was living up in the sky while the Earth healed following a nuclear apocalypse or something like that and then they went back down to the Earth when the Earth finished healing and that's when The Flinstones happened. What I don't get about that is why they had all this futuristic technology before but went to using all this stuff that's pretty primitive in comparison.
if you watch the recent show rick & morty, in one episode they reference the concept of a highly advanced futuristic society controlling a lower class. the males on the alien planet in rick/morty are in a stone-age era while the separated females are in a higher society.
The great flood that hit the earth, forcing the survivors to create above ground with jet technology is canon, and Rosi having downloaded the soul of Grandma Rose is too.
I believe it's actually stated in the show at one point that the Jetsons live in the Earth's stratosphere because the surface has become so polluted that life cannot survive. Judy states that the smog clouds have risen and thickened in one episode, and raises the home higher above the Earth to avoid it.
Flintstones is in the future past the jetsons where they are rebuilding technology that had existed but was destroyed in a war that happened during the jetsons time who were living in a time the earth surface was uninhabitable do to a nuclear war in their past
So, how do The Roman Holidays and Jabberjaw fit into this? The Roman Holidays is just like The Flintstones, except it takes place in Ancient Rome rather than in prehistoric times. Meanwhile, Jabberjaw, like The Jetsons, also takes place in the future...but underwater.
There's actually a episode of The Jetsons where one of elroy's classmates are watching a episode of The Flintstones on a watch TV so no I don't think they're in the same universe
ONE OF THE CAVE BOYS HAS A YAMICA(JEWISH HAT) ON, THAT MIGHT HELP SUPPORT THIS THEORY. PLEASE GIVE THIS SUGGESTION SOME THOUGHT AND LIKE THIS COMENT IF YOU AGREE♥
on one of the movies called jetsons meet flintstones when the kid starts the time machine it says future insted of past meaning the flintstones is in the future
Well, I heard that the Flintstones were a post apocalyptic generation years after the Jetsons. They are trying to rebuilt from scratch everything they had. And on the episodes they meet each other....there was an error that instead of traveling to the past, they traveled to the future...
***** Actually no it don't What happen was The Jetsons where going to use Elroy time machine to take a vacation to the future but Astro accidentally hit the switch and sent them to the past
It’s 2019 now! Hit Or Miss has taken over, and everyone thought the world was gonna end on Friday! Technology has changed but flying cars are still a hazard! Rewind 2018 overtook Baby and these shows are all over!
Symbolically this is possible - when you travel and cross cultures. Some are way ahead of the times while others are struggling and/or simple; depends on how you look at it.
The reason this theory is bad is because we seen the Jetsons surface planet more than a few times. Once in episode seven when they throw a suit out the building and a hobo on thr ground picks it up. The other where Jane is talking to the guy on a bench and all the lush purple foliage is around. Also when the guy is jack hammering the ground to build more sky apartments.
What i hate about the shows is if both might exist together at the same time, how come they didnt include odd pillars in the far distance to indicate the high buildings?
Flintstones could be in future and Jetson even farther in future as they still knew about the Flintstone Family debt during time of the Jetsons. Fred went back and repaid his loan so did he alter his family's future?
For the part about the year where it was said that it took place at 2062 maybe, one of their inventions froze Time and they just thought that it was a long time
Maybe The Jetsons and The Flintstones are actually in the same time period, the year 2062 AD. Maybe two societies exist, those who embrace technology and live in the clouds in Orbit City, and others who want a simpler life and chose to stay on the ground as luddites. Perhaps the rich and smart decided to separate themselves from the poor and not so bright, much like the movie Elysium.
you should of mention... gazzo? gazoo? i dont know but he could have been someone from where the jetsons are but he was genetically engineered and had his mind erased which is why he THINKS he is from a different planet and when he contacts "the man" its just someone form where the jetsons are.
I think that the flintstones are people who didn't get a jetsons house and got brainwashed of certain stuff and made little civilization out of rocks and before they got sent down they made some dinosouras like Jurassic park and sent them down first
Nah. Personally I think the future of the Jetsons makes sense as where the science of the Flintstones would evolve into. When 2062 arrives for us it won't be like the Jetsons but in a timeline where humans could build TV sets out of stone powered by animals in the stone age it makes perfect sense for it to have progressed that far. Apocalypse theories are a cliche. An anachronistic past evolving into a future we're nowhere near achieving, much more interesting and canon.

#5 when returning to their time we see Elroy setting the machine "future".
The question remaining is, Flintstones is the Stone Age, OR a post-apocalyptic land?
Well, for this facts:
#1 Flintstones have brokers,stock-market, aviation and even had at least one World War.
Given all the technologicaland historical data from the Flintstones series, we can conclude they live in our future, and the Jetsons live even further ahead in time.
I do believe the Flinstones are in a future world after the Jetsons. The Jetsons built the city in the clouds to avoid the falllout.
Emily, there was an episode of The Jetsons that had Elroy watching The Flintstones. They never explained that in the movie.
But Billy finds a frozen Fred Flinstone in The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
The fact that cavemen actually celebrate christmas, when jesus christ was born, even though they supposedly live in B.C. which means BEFORE christ.
morons still believe Jesus was born on Christmas, which is false He was never born in December,Christmas isn't biblical at all.,it's just another a pagan holiday like Halloween.
Christmas isnt derived from the belief of jesus, its actually a pagan holiday.
Tree Sprout well, the celebration of Christmas has always been about Jesus, it’s just certain modern traditions were adapted from Pagan traditions to assimilate other cultures. Not necessarily saying that assimilation was the best thing, but it was a different time
@@clarkstrange2142 no, he was actually born in September
if the Jetsons did just teleport down to the surface of the earth then how did Elroy get a belly dancer from Egyptian times to his room and how did Rosy travel to the middle ages??
all this being proven in the Jetsons meet the Flinstones
Ever see Westworld where for entertainment they duplicated different past societies the ancient Romans and old westerns like in 1800's, etc. They could have also done it with the ancient Egyptians and middle ages.
well that just ruins the simplicity of what should be a childrens show :'(
West world has recreations of different time periods. Although both could be in future just Jetsons farther in future is another explanation as Flintstone family debt is still known about in the future and Fred goes and repays the loan.
In this one I went from, "no no ,no,no why" to "that's the best conspiracy I've ever seen on here."
oooooor the jetsons could b higher class citizen uk like a social pyramid time thing
The Jetsons and Flintstones exsist in the same universe just different time periods .
There was an episode with the little martian that took the Flintstones to the 'future' that is nothing less than the Jetson's home, and in that sequence it was shown that time period was actually in the future when Fred realized that a "savings account" he started got him (or his ancestors) into extreme debt in the future.
Descendants would still be in debt not ancestors which are ones that came before him.
Elroy played on the surface in one episode. All the modern technology was still present.
Loved this episode! I was all about the Flintstones meet the Jetsons movie when I was a kid ^.^
Since he really liked the design of the car and he's never seen it before
Actually the time machine did work it teleported them into a post apocalyptic place that is bedrock
2014 was 10 years agos...
I just think that the Jettsons _did_ travel in time into the near future when the ground is safe to live in again. The Jettsons came first, and then the flinstones
When i was little they were my favorite shows
There's something in the Flintstones that disproves it, Season 5, Episode 18: Time Machine.
We do have jetpack and robot maids there just expensive as hell
On a serious note Christmas goes much further back in history than just a couple hundred years
if you watch the recent show rick & morty, in one episode they reference the concept of a highly advanced futuristic society controlling a lower class. the males on the alien planet in rick/morty are in a stone-age era while the separated females are in a higher society.
Prehistory under a bright future. BRILLIANT!
This would make since.
Maybe Kazoo is from the Jetsons world, sneaking down to visit Fred.
The Flinstons money with the all seeing eye and pyramid though?
wasn't the intro song on swoozie?
On the flinstone's dollar it showed the illuminate sign.
Do you that could be anything Emily?
The creator of both series: omg this amazing, I didn't know about that...
The Flintstones got cereal what did the jetsons get?
Well, I heard that the Flintstones were a post apocalyptic generation years after the Jetsons. They are trying to rebuilt from scratch everything they had. And on the episodes they meet each other....there was an error that instead of traveling to the past, they traveled to the future...
I thought they met each other in the 1987 episode
Why do you need a robot maid to vacuum if you can just have a vacuum that vacuums itself
But...what about the crossover between those two shows?
***** Actually no it don't What happen was The Jetsons where going to use Elroy time machine to take a vacation to the future but Astro accidentally hit the switch and sent them to the past
***** And that's how the meet every one so they don't exist at the same time in the same universe yes but not at the same time
It’s 2019 now! Hit Or Miss has taken over, and everyone thought the world was gonna end on Friday! Technology has changed but flying cars are still a hazard! Rewind 2018 overtook Baby and these shows are all over!
Do the Adventure Time Theory, that Jake is in a coma and his dog is always by his side in the hospital...
i never thought about it that way
Symbolically this is possible - when you travel and cross cultures. Some are way ahead of the times while others are struggling and/or simple; depends on how you look at it.
Christmas could possibly come from the Egyptians when they used to bring palm trees inside when the weather worse therefore decorating theor houses
I'm still pretty pissed that we don't have good weather gadgets to predict the weather
I enjoy listening to your voice
As you speak
Of cartoon conspiracies
Thanks dude!
WAIT!!!!!!!!!! Did you see that? 2:03 ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED
In the new Jetsons/WWE movie, George has to go to the Earth's surface. The bottom of the pole is covered in ice.
What if the flintstones actually died.. and they become the jetsons in heaven..
goddamn u for making me think
What about the episode of the Jetson where they have to raise up the buildings because the water level raises up to much
For the part about the year where it was said that it took place at 2062 maybe, one of their inventions froze Time and they just thought that it was a long time
Christmas has been celebrated in the western cultures for a few millenia not centuries
In the middle of the money there is what looks like the illuminate (sorry if I spelt it wrong) sign!!!
you should of mention... gazzo? gazoo? i dont know but he could have been someone from where the jetsons are but he was genetically engineered and had his mind erased which is why he THINKS he is from a different planet and when he contacts "the man" its just someone form where the jetsons are.
I think that the flintstones are people who didn't get a jetsons house and got brainwashed of certain stuff and made little civilization out of rocks and before they got sent down they made some dinosouras like Jurassic park and sent them down first
I have seen George almost go splat at least once and I did not see Bedrock anyplace.
I thought that the flinstones and the jetsons were on the same timeline from a conspiracy I heard
GRAND DAD!
Ancient China had robot maids... granted they only served tea really but we still already have robot maids technically.
I think it's the same universe but not the same time.
Though there are good points. However if you watched the grim adventures of billy and Mandy, billy actually finds Fred frozen in his front yard
That could explain that alien. But then what about when Fred ended up in the Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy?
