- Avengers: Doomsday is an upcoming superhero film, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The film will see the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, The film is a sequel to The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. It is the thirty-ninth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and third installment of Phase Six. The film is set to be released on May 1, 2026.
A sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, will be released on May 7, 2027.

The movie should open with Doom killing Kang and taking his place. Then Ant Man & Wasp. Then we go into his origins, the formation of the new Avengers lineup, and he kills off a few others and torments Spiderman. Don't kill Clint cuz' we can get to see him in the purple/pink costume we've always wanted.

This is what I believe. The closest people to Tony Stark will see this variant and be killed I believe this is how Doomsday will end. I believe Peter Parker will be the main character to fall. This is how Andrew and Toby will appear in Secret War.

First of all, Tom Holland (not even 30 years old) is signed on to SIX more Spider Man movies. Second, he is the biggest star in the MCU (outside of RDJ and Hugh) playing the most popular superhero, Marvel is not going to kill him off when they can just print money with every new movie.
Lastly, we all know that Spider Man is going to be playing a more grounded story around Daredevil, Kingpin and the other grounded MCU characters.

With Marvel recasting RDJ as DOOM and if they stick to the Secret Wars story, I can see anyone and everyone could die. They could kill off a character in Doomsday and bring them back as a variant or just a completely different character in Secret Wars
The variant thing was done with both Loki and Gamora, so yes, that is a possibility.

I think a lot of Avengers will die in Avengers: Doomsday. This is going to be the highest count in MCU and actually all of Marvel history. Half of an entire universe is a lot but all universes dying except 1 universe piled up of the survivors from some universes all being put on Battleworld fighting for universal supremacy and their lives is as dark as you can get.
This is why Doomsday and Secret Wars are so big, it's going to be a fun run. And I think we all know Spider-Man meeting Doctor Doom as RDJ is bound to happen and is going to be so sad but so is Thanos meeting RDJ's Doctor Doom bound to happen as well

This looks interesting and severely cool. However, there’s two Avengers I don’t want killed off in Doomsday and Secret Wars: Thor, Hulk and Spider-Man, because Thor and Banner are the only two of the original six that are still in The Avengers and as for Spider-Man, because Holland is my favorite portrayal of Spider-Man and Marvel already killed him off in Infinity War, although they brought him back to life in Endgame. But I’m cool with Clint, The Wasp, and She-Hulk. And one more thing: They should add Shang-Chi to The Avengers because he is Marvel’s Kung Fu Panda.
I’m pretty sure the thing about doom’s character is: there were NO other superheroes or villains. Just a boring sin filled world that he wanted to change by force. Doom should never grow up rich like tony stark. It does make sense in my mind. He studied magic because he was powerless in all aspects. Built a suit of armor for power, not protection. Although, I’m pretty sure doom did actually NEED power for his own protection. This is a character that simply doesn’t trust anything but himself.

I disagree. Wasp would have zero impact in dying. As you said a lot of fans dont like the actress, but it's not exactly like the character was super popular in the MCU. If she was killed, it would only serve to make Antman's reaction more important. We don't want that.
Hawkeye's death is in the same category: what impact would it have? The OG Avengers are all aready disbanded, we have a new Hawkeye, and his story has already come to an end. There's zero momentum in doing that.
And lastly? Bucky is becoming his own character and not just Falcon and Cap's side kick. Killing him off now only serves to remove one of few fan favorite characters that are in the MCU.
No. I think characters that could be open to be casualties are characters that are "important", but not really: Val, Wong, Katy, Skaar, Captain Marvel (If Rogue shows up as a villain), Happy and Nick Fury (Sam Jackson's story has not wrapped from Secret Invasion or The Marvels, and I'm sure the actor is done playing a character that took 10 years to get any backstory). Those are characters I think make way more sense to story to be offed.
I think a more powerful character being offed would be good as well in showing Doom is a true threat
I hope The Wasp at least survives till Avengers Secret Wars, give her a full movie in the avengers team and then if they want they can kill her off in the secret wars movie, not Doomsday! It sucks, I wish Evangeline Lilly could stay longer to play the role, but at least I hope they give her a good reason to get wiped out, and have her death be impactful, and worth it!

I don't want Wong to die but I have a feeling Wong will die. Hawkeye can't die. He needs to lead West Coast Avengers. Bucky should get a happy ending like Steve Rogers. Steve and Bucky went through a lot. They both deserve a happy ending. Steve Rogers got a happy ending it's time for Bucky
I do hope he kills off a bunch of characters from Phase 4 and 5, just to show he really means business and that no "oh this is a new character" contract will stop him.
She-Hulk, Shuri Black Panther, Eternals, Namor, Captain Marvel, Adam Warlock, Gaia, Clea, any of these could be killed off to show how powerful Doom is and to take away the most powerful characters the Avengers have without taking away the fanfavorites people want to see on screen.
I'd say from old cast, Doctor Strange, War Machine, Bucky, Falcon, Starlord, Okoye, Fury, Ant-Man and Wasp could all go because they're reaching/beyond the 10 year mark.
They could all die apart from Thor and Hulk.
This would set up Old Man Thor and Maesteo storylines, with the latter being a solo Hulk film to itself.
This would also set up the need for new heroes to take over, perhaps ones sent by STRIKE or MI:13 to deal with it.
I'd love to see unused heroes being called upon for this. Fury could visit the X Mansion for assistance without knowing what other world authorities sent in.

I feel like the beginning of Secret Wars will be an inverse of what we saw in infinity war - Doom is going to kill the 616 Thor right in front of God Loki as intimidation - just like how thanos killed Loki in front of Thor.

I think you have the overall number right--about 3 who won't come back at all, even after regeneration/multiverse replacements etc.
I have one other for you to consider and it would be big: Thor. Like a couple other actors, I'm considering Chris Hemsworth may have to curtail his acting career, so it may make practical sense. And, of course, killing a character that powerful would have an entirely different "whoa!" level.
It would also be a reverse of Loki dying at Thanos hand in front of Thor. God of stories Loki is going to be a big part of this story because
Doom is going to want to kill him off to destroy the multiverse. Thor sees Loki is in danger of being killed by Doom,so he steps in and holds
his own against Doom for a moment before Doom mortally wounds him. They give Thor and Loki a big death scene and pay off Loki
being resurrected but not having met Thor yet.
In Secret Wars, Loki builds a multiverse Avengers team to fight Doom and he plucks the Thor out of the altered timeline,he came from,to
be on the new Avengers. This Thor and Loki become the tight family Odin wanted because each one knows their 616 versions died trying
to save their "brother"
For a couple of years now I’ve been sure Thor will be the next Iron Man level death - he’s had his arc, everyone who means anything to him is dead, Chris Hemsworth has his own irl stuff going on and he’s not thrilled with the direction of the character since Endgame. I think he’ll reunite with Loki and have a special moment with him just before he dies in battle and reunites with Jane, Heimdall, etc in Valhalla. It’ll be like all of Loki’s deaths but a role reversal and with no comebacks, which will be like karma for Loki for all the times he faked his death to Thor and caused him to genuinely grieve
You’re killing off all the small characters. There’s no impact if they die. Killing off Thor or Hulk would be a huge impact.
Honestly i think they should follow the secret wars comic as close as possible. One of the best storys for the multiverse.
i think that, in general, we'll lose a lot of pre-phase 4 characters in avengers 5 (rhodey, hawkeye, captain marvel, thor etc). i think characters like moon knight (survives via duat), jane foster (already in valhalla), ms. marvel (via noor), shang-chi (via ta lo), america chavez (maybe vishanti zone), TVA, etc will survive. i think the afterlife-based pocket dimensions introduced in phase 4 are separate enough from the multiverse, that, when the entire thing collapses in doomsday, our heroes that have connections to those places will have to start some kinda resistance to fight doom's authority on battleworld.
i mean i dunno but boy are they taking a huge risk bringing RDJ as dr. doom & i am 100% here for it.
Honestly if they really wanted to make a statement taking out either Adam warlock captain marvel or super skrull right away would not only be their best choice but removing one of the big guns first from the board would be something the comic doom would do…

You could see Doom killing off all the characters who have not been successful in the franchise like She Hulk, Ant Man, The Wasp, Captain Marvel, Rhodey, Hawkeye. I don't think Kamala will be killed off as I think they have future plans for her. Could kill off all the Eternals and then they don't go forward with that apart from Cersei who was taken.
I want all of the eternal to have some fight with him, but we don't see it only hear it, and then we learn later they all died, so the avenger find a way to convince Icarus come back as the last eternal and join the avengers

Wrong, the Dr.Doom that will appear in Avengers Doomsday, will be from the Universe of Fantastic Four: First Steps. You can't argue with me, cause its official.
Now, what does that mean. It means, that this Dr.Doom isnt variant of Ironman, but variant of Victor Von Doom, who just looks like Tony Stark. We already know, that some characters, in different world be someone else, just like Captain America and Human Torch, played by same actor Chris Evans. They are completely different characters, but they look the same.
But what happens, right? Well, Galactus destroy the world of Fantastic Four: First Steps (also official) and Dr.Doom may not be okay with this. He learns, that it was smth , that must have happend, thats why Dr.Doom in post-credit scene of Fantastic Four: First Steps, kills off every Kang, because as we know, He Who Remains has been writing their story, possibly another Kang was writing the story of how Galactus destroys the Planet. Then, it could be connected through Loki and how he managed to change TVA and how he is from Earth 616 (MCU). Dr.Doom can possibly face off Loki, but Loki wouldnt want to fight and because of this, he sents him into Earth 616, knowing the Avengers will defeat him.
Thats my story, it doesnt need to be this way, its my opinion, but its the way i think they will go, because of those leaks.
I think they need to include a "God" type hero to be hurt or to die. like Namor, Thor, Hercules. Witch or Dr Strange (i highly doubt) but you know they have to somehow make a statement and for that to be effective. they have to kill one of those Hero that not just super human or super soldier or elite assasin type of hero
Deadpool will be in doomsday and will either die or get badly injured because in Deadpool in wolverine there is a video of Thor crying and Deadpool on the ground with blood so what I think will happen is Deadpool shows up on the battle field about halfway through the movie and before all this happened Deadpool and Thor had a strong relationship but back on the field Deadpool doesn’t know how strong victor von doom is and underestimated him, after seeing Bucky die he didn’t know if Bucky was just weak or doom was powerful but I charged in causing a chain reaction making everyone with him including Thor falcon guardians of the galaxy and Hawkeye Deadpool charges for the head trying to decapatate doom but doom has a cool fight with Deadpool while the others fight doom bots soon Deadpool dies and Thor came running to Deadpool starting to cry

A severe injury ending a hero's career is something they haven't done, so that could be an option. Having it always be just survive physically unscathed OR die is rather limiting. So while I believe they will kill off several characters, I do think they should significantly injure a few.
That being said, I think your choices are highly likely. And I am also a Hawkeye fan.

Good theory crafting here. I would like to see a livestream where we all can throw ideas out back and forth on this. Hawkeye for sure can pull the heart strings if he dies. Him, Wasp, and someone else could start the movie by doing a mission, discover something bigger then they thought, and they die off while the third person escapes. They could do a very good "Loki" death and make the whole movie feel very important from the start.

Hank Pym is dying for sure. Probably Hope, since Evangeline wants time off. If Armor wars is cancelled, Rhodey is going to be a casualty. Hulk and Thor are probably safe in doomsday, but could die in secret wars.

My two cents: I believe that Dr. Doom is going to be threatened by the power of intelligence. Likely, Dr. Doom will take out the people who will threaten his intellect first. So, Green Hulk or Dr. Strange might be on the chopping block. Then, we might see Reed Richards (Fantastic Four) enter to fill that gap. Also, with Green Hulk or Dr. Strange (both?) out, White Vision could make a return too. Not sure how the Red Hulk storyline will play out in Capt. America, but Doom could use Red Hulk to defeat Green Hulk. Wanda M. could replace Strange too and become sorcerer supreme (if she can control the Scarlett Witch). With White Vision in the picture, perhaps there will be a redemption there.
Tom H. Spiderman is going to stay in place as he will want to try and "change" Doom. He will believe there's good in him and might even be the one who needs to finally stop him.
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
Also, before they kill off Hawkeye, he better get the wolverine costume treatment.

My bet is they do a fake out death of Spider-Man, having him try and reason with “Mr stark” only for doom to seemingly kill him, then the symbiote kicks in and we have the aggressive black suit Spidey vs Dr Doom
I think at the end of Avenger Doomsday like the last movie of it. Dr. Doom will change back to Ironman again and save everyone, (this is just my guess)

I was thinking that they go back to Iron Man 1 and Yinsen doesn’t die and Tony learns that’s Stane set him up and that he kills him. He never joins The Avengers and probably sees them as a threat.
So he goes and studies magic and learns to infuses it with his technology such as the arc reactor and it explodes and fucks up his face.
I think this is the real Dr Doom of the 1960s retro future world of Fantastic Four who may or may not be a Stark variant. I think First Steep ends with their world or whole realty destroyed and Dr Doom is going to try and rebuild it by grabbing bits and pieces of other timelines
I also think Dr doom will find a way to sap the powers of all the gods to become God emperor doom in the mcu
I also think ms marvel is living on borrowed time until doom arrives
I think Gaia or monica rambeau would be a really easy one to chalk off as they are both very OP and their shows/films/characters were not well recieved hence thinning the herd of avengers/heroes but also pleasing fans who dislike them

I feel like Cap is gonna come back for the next Avengers movies. In the comics, Cap has still become captain america after he becomes old. I feel that at some point in the movie, the Avengers seek out Cap’s help and bring him back. He still is a super soldier, hes just old.

You know when in infinity war dr strange looks into all the possible futures I wonder now with RDJ coming back as Doom if marvel are going to use that as a way to explain why Ironman had to die in end game, because in one of the futures dr strange possibly witnessed what he thought was Tony Stark becoming dr doom and being a even bigger threat than Thanos so made sure he was the one to snap Thanos out of existence effectively unaliving 2 birds with one stone

Killing Rhodey could be awesome. I love Don Cheadle and don’t want him killed off but if he try’s to hug Tony/Doom or something and gets stabbed at the very beginning of Doomsday that would be a great tone setter.
While I'd absolutely hate to see it, given that WS is one of my all time favorite Marvel characters, I think Armin is 100% correct on this one. It makes perfect narrative sense, and MCU basically had no idea how to properly use WS post CA 2, so this would be a way to 'get rid' of him. Yeah, this is almost certainly happening tbh.
