"Staten Island Mall is a shopping mall in the New Springville neighborhood of the Staten Island borough of New York City, United States. It is the only indoor shopping mall in the borough. It is the largest retail center on the island and is the site of the island's third largest public transit hub after the St. George ferry terminal and Eltingville Transit Center, respectively, with numerous bus routes that connect to the periphery of the mall area. Anchor stores include JCPenney, Macy's, Sears, and Primark."

Interesting fact about the Staten Island Mall: the music video for the New Radicals's 1998 hit song "You get what you Give" was filmed inside the Mall. Anyone alive in the late 90's who had access to a radio or MTV knew that song. It was huge and played everywhere. The video was quite entertaining as well.
Oh how I loved this mall, back in 92/93. Had never seen anything like this before. So huge. (From Norway) loved the dining area upstair. Great memories.

I’m happy that this place manages to stay the same in some sort of form.
I remember as a kid (mid 80s-early 90s) this mall use to be so done up for Christmas. They use to have a train, a talking tree, and Santa Claus was set up in a huge castle.

New Yorkers should be proud of their beautiful and mighty city, they worked their asses off to build it.
I haven't been in a mall in about 5 years. I can see that nothing has changed. I'll check back again in another 5.
oh it changed a lot, there is now a dave and busters, an upgraded food court, and even its own movie theater inside the mall, with full food service. it’s really great now.

I haven't been to the SI mall since 2015. On that day, I was very surprised to see the mall so crowded, especially since it was a weekday. One of the few "not dead" malls that I've been to in the last 10 years! I makes me wonder what this mall is doing that others aren't? I think it has to do with the local economy and given the difficulty of getting around SI makes it easier to do as much shopping in one place as possible, rather than driving around like in other parts of the country.
Sometimes it's because the area happens to be an affluent where people are still well off....
Also seems to be safe.

I saw "Lidl" = its a big food and non food discounter from here, germany. I like it. Even his second store line "Kaufland" in germany, with large stores.
Lidl and Aldi even try to grow up in the USA. Looks interested. Maybe cheaper as Wal-Mart ?

LoVe American malls! We call them shopping centres here in the UK. I was surprised to see there was a Primark store there as wasn't aware they had stores in the US.

I went there a few times between 2002 and 2010. Liked to get the Subway (R line I think) to one stop before the end of the line, then the S44 bus to the mall, then a different bus route, S79 I think back to the ferry terminal, ferry to Manhattan then Subway and PARH back to Jersey City. Nice ride on the bus across the bridge. Looking at this I really couldn’t tell that it’s not somewhere in the UK, the shops all look just the same.
The Staten Island Mall hasn't changed much on the inside, imo. I was there in the 1980s as a child, and still looked very similar to this video here. :)
