- It was very surreal having a celebrity stood in our kitchen drinking coffee, especially when I'd grown up watching her on CBBC, Tomorrow's World and Robot Wars.
Philippa, a conservationist and EV owner/driver has recently begun her journey in the the world of EV's and has an amazing RUclips channel that you can follow just here;

Her channel documents her EV journey, one that many of us will have to undertake, from starting out, picking an EV, paperwork, charger installs and her own ongoing ownership experiences.

Interesting women's view on EV experiences, but being a man the things perhaps you did not mention is; you cannot stall an EV, Hill start and climbing is a doddle, and most EV can self park, and having a preheated demised car in the cold winter mornings is something women would be pleased to experience. We have been driving EV's for 5 years and we bought into the Leaf team, and now benefit from that choice because one of our Leaf's is running the heating system in our home. That for me is a game changer, because the pandemic forced us to think differently, because now only one of us commutes to work.
We are currently planning our trip to Munster in Germany in our 2015 24kw 62k mile Nissan Leaf with a 83.5% SOH (only 2% less than 3 years ago). We plan to leave from Welshpool to Harwich taking the overnight ferry to the hook of Holland and then on to Munster, which will take us a day and a half to get there. This will be the second time we've done this trip in this car, and I can say for sure there are far more Rapid chargers now in the UK than there was 2 years ago. Driving through the Netherlands is a piece of cake, and we have also notice German chargers have increased to.
BUT there is always a BUT, the infrastructure still needs more chargers because it has not kept pace with the EV sales. All those home charging people who drive within their range will be venturing out off their normal range in the school holiday times, and will find the infrastructure will failing them. It will bring a who new meaning to 'are we there yet'!!

I met Philippa when I did Robot Wars about 22 years ago.....you could say my first EV :)
She was really nice always posing with teams for pics in the pits when asked and seemed to show a keen interest in the bots off camera.

@@Jamesandkate Yes James/Kate somebody uploaded a clip of us in series 7 and 2 series of Extreme (see link) ...I was the driver...team Capt Rob had left me on my own for the 1st battle shown as he had to go to a job interview hence me being alone in the booth at the start of the clip....
Also on that 1st match shown I just had to fit a plain spike on the front as the spinning disk weapon we had went wrong just as the fight was about to start so had to swap at the last minute.

I don't think Philippa was in this clip (It was Jane Middlemiss for series 7) but we did meet her so it must have been in "extreme"

Wikipedia. Famous TV presenter in the 90s and early 00s. Good at her job.
