Acquiring a Captain Sisay for my Sisay, Weatherlight Captain deck was probably the single best addition to the deck I've ever made.
Yeah I feel ya on that. I didn't really think about it at first. It wasn't till later on when I added the original to my Weatherlight, that things started getting crazy. For me tutoring for Urza's ruinous is a big deal because I don't run a lot of removal in mine.
@@CommanderReplay yeah, URB is definitely one of the strongest things that Captain can get that the commander can't. It's also a form of card advantage, and a great way to use your mana that doesn't come in nice WUBRG packages.
Had a buddy give me a copy of Captain Sisay early this year because I had a five color legendary tribal deck. Was working on that deck even before new Sisay and new Sisay now commands it.
Awesome its my deck! I know people dont like playing against stax, but i love this deck and have put a lot of work into it. Thank you for playing my deck.
I love Stax decks, and this was beautiful.
This deck is amazing man.
If I had some money I'd throw it together just for the right matchup. I normally wouldn't play stax but against certain players/decks I'd be willing to try it.
It seems pretty good and I already have a bunch of the pieces (at least one copy I'm willing to proxy into multiple decks...)
Questing Beast isn't "The Big Bad Wolf", it's the Questing Beast. A monster from Arthurian Legend that King Pellinore is constantly looking for.
Yeah I glanced over real quick, so I don't think I completely understood the conversation.
Fastest Stax game I have ever seen.
Kamahl, Fist of Krosa + Elesh Norn is a neat combo I've never played so far. Playgroup will love me for that one.
Awesome job with content and content variety lately!
16:35 "Sun of wheel and moon"
17:30 "eidolon of great rhetoric"
Lol yeah I realized I said that later. pretty funny.
I love stax! Great job, PJ!
Awesome next time I buy cards I'll use the link.
Karn is great for killing 0 mana artifacts your opponents control
With Elesh Norn he can kill up to 2 mana artifacts.
Love the points you’ve made here!
More people should watch your content ;)
We were talking about they didnt make a big bad wolf. The questing beast is from Arthurian lore.
Ooo I see. I only looked over briefly. If i lose focus for 1 second I get comments saying I'm a bad magic player.
Commander Replay screw those people. You consistently beat me and I’m a solid deck builder though I dick around in game a lot.
@@CommanderReplay i mean when you played the karn and didnt even + it it wasnt good lol love the channel
Loved this video. I'm also Playing Sisay Stax but at a higher tier and more responses. My local meta consists of a ton of cEDH shenanigans and I use sisay as the "Combo Killer". Been very successful so far. Would love to see a profile of this deck
Nice. I could definitely use a deck like this in my local, some nasty stuff going on there. I would say this deck isn't too far away from Cedh. Its fast, consistent and efficient. To your point I think a few more points of removal would probably do the trick. All in all, sweet deck. As a pet project at some point, I might try to make a near cedh version of Sisay Weatherlight Captain using Godo Helm or Aurelia Brago as the win cons, we'll see how it goes.
@@CommanderReplay I honestly want to give you my Sisay Stax Decklist to pilot on a video and compare both of these decks for the Sisay Faithfuls out there looking to continue to play a high tier deck that is simply stun the combo.
I enjoyed seeing the deck reminds me of my first deck Grand Arbitrator stax.
Yeah its definitely in the same vein. But tutoring is so good.
Would love to see more games with Chainer, Nightmare Adept!
Yeah, scooping is always a valid wincon for the stax players...
Yeah I’d hardly count that as a victory. Each to his own but I find it so weird that some people are perfectly willing to win that way.
I haven't seen a Sisay stax build before. And yikes that's a scary good deck!
Thanks! Ive been tuning it for several years now. Its getting harder each set to put good cards in. WOTC keeps printing more powerful cards and sticking Legendary on it to call it safe, but it just means i have a new toy to tutor up in this deck.
That was fun. I love high powered decks.
So does wheel of sun and moon loop Urza's ruinous blast? I thought it would exile the wheel as well?
Not sure of the timing. It would exile wheel but I’m not sure where it resolves to. Bow of nylea does it tho.
@@CommanderReplay Awesome that a good idea. Thanks for the reply :)
Sissay the legend fetcher was the first EDH deck I built and probably the strongest.
Questing Beast is from Arthurian legend, same name too!
stax polarizing the comment section.
This was a quick one and rare. I liked it.
That draw was Legendary. To be full cEDH the deck would be playing multiple Armageddons.
I run a deck just like this its estrid with captain sisay as the right hand captain lol the blue makes it interesting
Magic is fun
Oh shit tcg player affiliate link nice
CLICK NOW. CLICK NOW. Jk :) but seriously it helps.
Wincon? Group Scoop.
I raise you one Damping Matrix.
Damping matrix does shut off Sisay, but there is a decent amount of removal in the deck for permanents. Return to dust, generous gift, beast within, krosan grip, aura shards, song of the dryads, council's judgment, urza's ruinous blast, and Freyalise, llanowar's fury. To sum it up, we can handle one hate card easily.
EriKyoto remove my stax piece and then I play a more threatening Enchantment/Artifact to win. Decks don’t have infinity permanent removal.
@@SuperBulian lol, what is the statement you're trying to make here? Sometimes decks have multiple ways to do things and they can't all be answered? You can say that about literally anything. This is a "Dies to Doom Blade" argument.
Galvonetta what I’m really saying is you will remove my staxs piece just to function, then I’ll follow up with a permanent that wins the game when you had to use removal just to function. Gg.
Growing rites of itlimoc is a legendary enchantment
Cool. I’d have to go with that. Might be messing around with some paper stax in the future
Growing rites is legendary just can never be used the turn you play it but you would save $295.00
Cool yeah. Ill wait a turn for the $295 savings :)
yeah, Sisay had 2 lists. The most viable of Paradox Sisay and then the old Stax lists that were good, but not quite the top tier.
:) You played the bird first! There is hope for your (not combat) career yet!
I love my Captain Sissay Stax deck! My play group does not love it.
Hey PJ, love your channel, but really I hate as hell stax decks. They don't win, they just throw away your free time; At least combo decks wins on the spot and it's possible to move on the next game
This deck isn’t fun to watch tbh
I know stax isnt for everyone. Like PJ said, you bring this deck to high powered games. My play group is very combo heavy and this deck is great to put a stop to thier nonsense. It gives them a taste of me playing and them watching as opposed to them playing and me watching.
I had fun
nah this was amazing
Τhat was painful to watch
Magic as Richard Garfield intended.
Boring, please dont make this a regular archetype you play.
