    I’ll be honest… showing the old car moments before the new car did the new car absolutely no favours. I know the newer car is fussier in general but I wish Aston had paid closer attention to the subtle styling of the original V12 vantage as I feel that added to how bonkers the car was. Some bonnet vents and slightly larger wheels were the only real exterior differentiators so if you blinked you could have missed the old car, even though you would have heard it. Aside from the DB11/DBS none of the new astons have that charming and commendable level of restraint.

    • @alolanstarboy
      @alolanstarboy 2 года назад

      Theres no "right way round" for a multiplication based unit like ft-lbs for torque. If it was lbs per ft then it would matter

    • @isaac7984
      @isaac7984 2 года назад +6

      @@alolanstarboy actually lbs-ft is the measure of a rotational force... ft-lbs is the measure of work over a linear distance of a foot. They're not the same, look it up

    • @alolanstarboy
      @alolanstarboy 2 года назад

      @@isaac7984 it’s a unit of torque lol, torque is the product of force and the distance from the pivot or turning point. It’s not one measure divided by the other they’re multiplied

    • @isaac7984
      @isaac7984 2 года назад +4

      @@alolanstarboy one lb-ft is one pound of force on a one foot lever, which is torque (rotational). One ft-lb is the energy required to move one pound a linear distance of one foot (not rotational). Only lb-ft is a measurement of torque. I never said anything about division. I did, however, suggest you look it up... which you clearly haven't

    • @alolanstarboy
      @alolanstarboy 2 года назад

      @@isaac7984 theres really not a distinction between two arrangements of units in that way. Linear work and rotational work (torque) effectively have the same units because both are a force multiplied by a distance, hence the units are derived as:
      Distance × Force
      Ft × Pounds
      And whether you multiple force x Distance or Distance x Force, the result is the same since its a multiplication. Hence the units Ft-lbs and lbs-ft are interchangeable. That's my point basically. Theres no explicit differentiation in the way the units are written for either linear or rotational work because they are derived from very similar calculations.
      On the other hand if you are calculating the force per unit area for example you'd be doing the following:
      Force/area
      Lbs/sq ft.
      Over here the order of the units is significant because sq ft./lbs represents something completely different (area covered per unit force) than lbs/ft which is force per unit area. Now you can't really swap the units as you please because since its one metric upon another switching them around results in a completely different measure.
      I hope that explains what I was trying to say a bit better.

    I'll be honest, if you want a 'classic luxury aston' get a db11 or dbs, if you want a lighter aston, get a v8, if you want a v12 and a rare aston get this. It's like 'oh yeah it'd naff, doesn't excite me, not a fan, ugly, yet all units are already sold out'

    • @alexk3469
      @alexk3469 2 года назад

      No that’s bull crap talk I don’t think you understand these types of v12s are built for racing so it’s gonna be a racing v12 like a V8 so the weight isn’t gonna ruin anything because it’s super light weight flywheel and responsive and has no primary or secondary weight balance like a v8

    • @alexk3469
      @alexk3469 2 года назад

      Have you not heard of v12 vantage gt3 one of the best engines and chassis it’s about the chassis in fact the v8 chassis is more luxury gt more than the v12s

    the v8's have become so technologically advanced and light that for a performance car like the vantage, the v12 just doesn't make sense. in my opinion it should be reserved for the DBS only.

    • @viowave
      @viowave 2 года назад

      I agree with you, although I do like the concept of the V12 Vantage and how it worked out without giving up all the elegance. Yet I would rather have the V8 Vantage (s) as it is the most sensible , if I ever have the money to buy and maintain it. That is a thing. Well at least I sat in one , the V8 that is. The funny thing I noticed back in day - '09 or '10 - that it feels like an instant classic by design - interior and exterior.

  • @ASV9399
    @ASV9399 2 года назад
