I agree, the slower tempo works really well for this aria.

Great job! I love her voice! The tempo is a little slow for me though.

Cherubino is a teenager! He's full of desire: "ogni donna mi fa palpitar", "or di fuoco, ora sono di ghiaccio" ecc..
I don't know how old are you but during teenage guys and girls are usually 'victims' of ormonal fever and sex is one of the most think in their minds and bodies.
Da Ponte and Mozart knew it wery well, I think...
And I think that during XVIII century people were less moralist than now.
Le nozze di Figaro is based on carnal desire!

Agree completely! I mean, at least stick to the libretto! I feel so bad for the opera singers. This just doesn't make sense with the roles intended for the Countess, Cherubino, or Susanna. The more I watch this, the more confused I am.

Harnoncourt does some interesting tempo's, I don't think it fits for this song at all though. Cherubino is supposed to be a symbol of youth, vitality, and lust.
It look's like he's about to have naptime. The 2006 Convent Garden is how it should be done in my opinion.

This must be the definitive version of "Eurotrash" opera- ugh. And if the production itself wasn't bad enough, the tempo is way toooo slow. Mozart must be rolling in his grave!

this is so disgusting and disrespectful!!!
    R.I.P. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
    R.I.P. Lorenzo da Ponte.
Such an aberration of the libretto's original intentions is just sick.

    Katherine,
You say Whores and Smut as if it is a bad thing. I go to the opera to be moved and to forget my day. It seems this actually moves people because sexual tension is one of their basic instincts.
ps, Either the Cherubino is a 'brick house' or she had extra bloomers. Either way, Sandy Eddy should have played this one.

I agree withyou , even if I don't know Lorenzo Da Ponte. But this part of the piece is disgusting. Cherubino is the symbol of love, not the symbol of sex. Wrong interpretation.
And what kind of women could have sex or even kiss a young man, a young BOY because he's just said that he does'n't know what Love is ?
    Wrong, wrong, Wrong again.
Scuse me for my langage, I'm not English.
