Ihre exquisite Technik hat mich immer in Erstaunen versetzt. Bis heute eine extrem unterschätzte Künstlerin. Ich fand sie trotzt (oder vlt wegen) aller Eigenheiten immer eine der Wenigen, die "das Besondere" hatten. Sie hatte viel von der alten Schule und hat stimmlich und im Ausdruck immer unverwechselbar und eigen gearbeitet. Ein Jammer, daß sie sich aufgrund privater Probleme von der Bühne zurückgezogen hat. Glücklicherweise hat sie vorher viele Jahre Weltkarriere gemacht, auch wenn das heute etwas in Vergessenheit geraten ist. Ich habe aber gehört, es geht ihr wieder besser.
Anja Silja hat mir gesagt, Christine Schäfer sei die einzige Sängerin, die nicht immer gleich singt, sondern in jeder Rolle etwas anders und das sei es... Sie trifft die Seele der Figur!
Sehr schöne Stimme, richtig bekannt geworden ist sie allerdings nicht. Ich hab sie auch nirgends im Talk oder in einem Interview gesehen. Wahrscheinlich gehört das heute auch dazu.
Great direction. I love the opera music but totally dislike the conservative audience and traditionall settings, this one is genius, fantastic aesthetics. It seems as a theatre play with fabulous music. Brilliant!
leoperarm. I agree. Why does Salzberg continue to do this. I love Christine Schafer's singing. She of all people deos not need to lower herself. Other singers such as Kiri Te Kanawa always avoided Salzberg - to much celebrity shenanigans.
@FrankJared It's just irony and it's very funny but only if you're clever enough to understand... It gives a fresh touch moreover. And I don't speak like a "farfallone ", It's my favorite Mozart's opera and I saw many and many to tell that it's a very interessant way to present Don Giovanni
This is so not for her... I didn't hear her Cherubino but there is something in her Mozart interpretations(Donna Anna, Konstanze) that I realy don't like. It sounds artificial. She should stick with Lulu, her signature role!

@andreideathboy How does her dress change the message of the opera? What is the message of the opera - baroque costumes are pretty? I doubt it.
this production is RUBBISH!!! takes all the magic out.
